Comparing his own stats to the werewolf in front of him, George revealed a smile. Higher attributes, higher weapon mastery, and better versatility thanks to his spells...He had it all. After a full year spent in Melvinger city, George had grown so powerful that even rank 3 acolytes would find it troublesome to beat him.

However, the werewolf in front of him was not average either.

George was dangerously cautious. This was one of the perk that allowed him to increase his influence tremendously in Melvinger City. Every single enemy he faced would only be dealt with once the success rate of the battle would reach a sufficiently high percentage.

Since White Wolf was not yet evaluated, George did not attack him. Unless he knew the extent of his strength, he would even appear friendly.

'Werewolf, huh...'

Thinking about ways to make experiments on werewolves, George had to fight the urge to look at them as guinea pigs. Thankfully, White Wolf spoke first.

"Greetings, esteemed Golden Villa Master...", he said in an elegant voice, unlike the filth that was encountered in the slums.

Werewolves were gifted with intellect, sometimes rivalling that of humans. They were unlike ghouls, who were completely rotten from the inside and obeyed nothing but strength. Werewolves, however, suffered from a grave condition: lack of cold bloodedness. This was one of the reason why werewolves almost never reached the magus realm. They died before accumulating enough resources and knowledge to break through. There was not enough foresightedness either, which might have allowed newer generations to learn from past generations' mistakes.

That's why George was quite pleasantly surprised upon seeing White Wolf's etiquette. He was not your average werewolf. He possessed the demeanour of a proper leader.

'What a pity...To think that such a intelligent werewolf would turn into a living experiment...', George analysed inwardly.

From what he saw, White Wolf possessed the potential to reach the rank 3 werewolf realm. As long as it continued to accumulate strength at a slow, controlled pace, he would not meet his end like its peers.

But he had met George.

"You are White Wolf, right?", George asked plainly, "You asked to see me"

Taken aback by the direct confrontation, White Wolf nodded: "Sir, I heard that you were an excellent alchemist and warrior. I will be short. Help me deal with the ghouls, and I will agree to work with the Melvinger City soldiers in an attempt to defeat the ongoing threats. I know that you are all in a precarious situations, and ghouls will not cooperate with you. They are also unreliable, and there is no telling when they will decide to get out of the sewers to kill the humans"

George considered his offer.

After a bit of investigation, George knew that White Wolf was a just man, who was quite loved in the slums. He offered honest protection to the weak men and women on the streets, and fed off the low-lives that succumbed to abusing weaker individuals than themselves, offering a semblance of equity in a world reigned by the law of the jungle.

Ironically, White wolf was embracing the ideal of equity, despite being born superior as a werewolf.

"Ghouls? I can brew a few potions for your subordinates and you. Antidotes for their bites, mainly. However, I want to accompany you and get a share of their resources", George said with a smile.

Ghouls possessed magical cores as undead creatures. Using them, George was confident in making pretty good shadow golems, as long as he could get some knowledge about how to manufacture them. With his biochip, the success rate would also rise tremendously, which would help him cement his reign in Melvinger City.

However, those magical cores were just side benefits. His true goal in this expedition would be elsewhere. George was a modern man after all. He was looking forward to gather data about werewolves, and more precisely, about White Wolf's trump cards, and his weaknesses.
