Attack on The Alliance!

A vast grassland in the middle of nowhere.

This place was actually the location of one of the portal gate inside the Holy Cloud Empire, the one connecting the empire and Gulam Kingdom. Mays had just arrived here after he entered the portal gate in Gulam Kingdom.

"So… This is Holy Cloud Empire?"

The grassland where Mays had just arrived looked way too plain. Mays was quite disappointed as this place differed too much from his imagination.

"Why is this place so… plain?"

Mira commented. She was also disappointed by the scenery before her. Unlike Mays, she voiced out her opinion without holding back.

Apparently, there were not even one guards around the area. This portal gate was totally in the middle of nowhere. Right after Mays finished observing the surrounding area, he commanded Flamence to fly away. First of all, he needed to get into the nearest town to gather information.

Flamence reduced its speed considerably inside Holy Cloud Continent. Mays didn't plan to miss any city nearby because of how fast Flamence flew. After about ten minutes of searching, Mays finally saw a city. He commanded Flamence to descend nearby as he didn't want the humans inside the city to be perturbed.

"Okay, let's get going."

Mays was ready to get into the city after he archived back his mount. That dragon would gather too much attention toward himself if he brought it with them.

"Yayayay let's go!"

Mira was totally excited as she grabbed Mays's right hand.

Just when Mays and his spirits reached the huge town gate, they were greeted by the gate guards. Mays was quite shocked when he noticed these gate guards were actually on a higher level compared to those lousy guards from either Gulam Kingdom or Mercia Kingdom.

The gate guard here in Holy Cloud Empire all wore decent armors which some even Mays himself knew of. Those gears were totally identical to those from HeavensTale. There was no way Mays would be mistaken about that.

"Greetings, esteemed godkin. From which portal gate had you hailed from?"

One of the guards asked Mays.

He was totally sure that Mays was a godkin. He was a guard assigned to deal with godkin who ported here from various location throughout the world. Mays was also a direct kind of guy. If the other side showed good will toward him then he would also react the same way. He answered without much thought as he want the formalities to be over as soon as possible.

"My name is Mays and I come from Gulam Kingdom. The portal gate I came from located in the middle of the grassland. These five were my spirits."

Before Mays reached this city, from atop of Flamence, he could see several other portal gate scattered all over the area. There was one in the middle of a lake, one in the center of a forest, one on top of a mountain and so on. This empire really was the hub of portal gate, connecting the central continent with the whole human continent.

"Mays… Gulam Kingdom... Five spirits…"

The guard from earlier muttered as he noted the info about Mays. Soon enough, that guard handed a map to Mays and told Mays to enjoy his visits here in Holy Cloud Empire. It was apparent that this guard was not the slightest bit afraid of godkins.

The first thing Mays did after he entered the city was to read the map handed to him by the gate guards. The map was a pamphlet type print out commonly seen on earth. Some of the players must have implanted this type of scribbling technique to the locals for sure.

Currently, Mays was inside Pestilla Town, one of the Transfer Town inside Holy Cloud Empire. There was a total of four transfer town inside Holy Cloud Empire and they functioned as a stop for every godkins who wished to travel into the empire. These Transfer Town were surrounded by several portal gate which were connected all across the world.

The Holy Cloud Empire was extremely large. Its size was at the very least five time larger than Mercia Kingdom where Mays was first ported into. This empire reminded Mays of the starting area in HeavensTale, The Forgotten City. Both the city and this empire was the main location which connected the portal gate throughout the continent. No wonder those players back then choose this empire as their target.

"MisfitSociety made the Dream City their headquarters while Ria established the Spirit Society in Neverrain Mountain. So, which one do you guys think we should visit first?"

Mays asked the opinion of his spirits. Now that he already knew the location of these two, he didn't felt the need to rush things anymore. He could just leisurely enjoy the journey across the empire before meeting them.

"To the safe side, it's better to look for master's younger brother. He was one of the top head in The Alliance after all. We can get more info from him for sure."

Damia was the first to reply. She even had a valid reasoning backing her suggestion. Mays nodded after he heard about it.

"I also agreed to it."

Syaitona added. She also had the same line of thought. Despite her childish nature, she did have a good brain.

"Mira don't even care. Wherever master go Mira will follow hehehe."

And of course, this one never used her brain. She said whatever she wanted.

"To the Dream City it is! But first, let's roam around this city."

Without giving it much thought, Mays decided their course's final destination.

------------------------------------------------------------

Stormhide City, the capital of Holy Cloud Empire.

This city was directly under control of The Alliance. The once majestic royal palace was now treated as the assembly building for the higher up of The Alliance. Inside one of the meeting chamber of the palace, five people were seated all over the round table.

"There were currently no movement from the demon side. Do we need to make the first move ourselves?"

The one who asked that question was the leader of SwordOfLight and also the acting leader of TheAlliance, Jace the Silver Bullet. He was a good looking young man with a blonde, long hair. From just a casual look, anyone could tell that this youth was wise and full of intellect.

"That is a not a good move. So far, none of our scout party made it back after they ventured into the demonic continent."

Leet disagreed. He was the leader of EmpireKnight, another one of the top three guild back in HeavensTale. Leet was a rough looking old man in his late forties with a toned body like that of a bodybuilder. He had a clear dissatisfied look whenever he looked at Jace.

The others inside the room knew that he wanted the position of the acting leader of The Alliance for himself but nobody seconded that. Even when the overall might of EmpireKnight was totally on par with SwordOfLight, his leadership proved inferior compared to Jace.

"Truth be told, I don't really think our side should make the first move. The risk is too high."

This time, a beauty in her late twenties voiced out her opinion. She was Rose, the leader of EarthForce. She was an exceptional beauty. Even back on earth, she was one of the most beautiful model. Her light red long hair suited her beautiful hazel shaped face, resulting in such a heavenly beauty.

Her current look was way more beautiful compared to back when she was on her prime years ago. Most of the intellectual player already came to a conclusion that the atmosphere here in this world was totally helpful for beautification purpose.

"True, the risk is high. But again, it's not you guys who go there anyways."

That last, thoughtless comments was from Sanortep, the leader of MisfitSociety. This guy never play by the book. He always do whatever he wanted and say whatever on his minds. In a sense, he was more or less had the same mentality of his brother, Mays. He was totally not the type of people who should be present in this kind of meeting. Regardless, he was still there since he was one of the backbone of The Alliance.

"In that case, why don't we wait for now till we had a better chance at it?"

The fifth person inside this meeting chamber was none other than the ruler of the empire himself, King Edward the Fifth. He was an old man nearing his seventies with every single strand of his hair was plain white.

This decrepit old man was not just an old man. He ain't just a king either. Because of his high attainment in the Art of Foresight, he was once known worldwide as the White Sage. His word contained wisdom on par with his intelligent making him the most sacred sage of all time.

These five were holed up inside this meeting room for hours but they definitely couldn't come to a conclusion. The risk were just too much hence nobody would be willing to be the one sacrificing themselves even if it was for the greater good.

It was then when suddenly someone knocked the door of their meeting room heavily. The guards themselves knew that an urgent meeting was currently being held inside the room. The only reason why the guards would still barged in despite knowing that was because they had to report something as urgent.

"What's the matter?"

Jace shouted at the guard who had just entered the meeting room. The guard was sweating profusely as he ran directly to the meeting room directly from the city gate.

"Intruder! There is an intruder, a highly skilled godkin!"

That guard reported in haste. He was gasping for air desperately as he waited for new orders from those inside the meeting room.

"What? Intruder at this very Stormhide City? What kind of force did they come with? A battalion of godkin? Hundreds of max level spirits?"

Leet asked with a sarcastic tone. This city was the headquarters of The Alliance. Nobody in their right mind would barge in and cause havoc here. Not even the demon king himself.

"No army at all! Just a single person!"

"WHAAAATTT??!!!"

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Two hours prior.

"This place is booooooooooooooooooooring!"

Mira who was excited the moment they entered Pestilla Town immediately became dejected after they walked around for several minutes. There were basically nothing eye catching here in this town. This was just a Transfer Town after all.

Despite the grandiose guard's quality which were located all over the town, this place was basically a dead town. There were close to no stall on the streets at all. The only people who lived here in this town were the guards, soldiers and their family members. This town was more or less a military encampment for safeguarding the scattered portal stone nearby.

"Master! Master! Mira is bored. Let's go somewhere else!"

Mira who was bored shook Mays's arm as she pleaded him to leave this town as soon as possible. She threw a tantrum totally like a ten years old kid.

"Ugh."

Mays sighed as he didn't know what to do with her anymore. This girl character was really too much for him to handle. He even regretted the fact that he made her personality that way.

"Stop that Mira! Can't you see master is troubled by your constant childish tantrum?"

Damia couldn't stand it anymore as she scolded Mira. Aloha even tried her hardest to separate Mira from Mays.

"Seriously Mira, can you please stop acting like a spoiled child?"

Even Syaitona who was always playful chided Mira in a cold manner. It was as if she herself had given up on Mira.

"But… but…"

"No buts!!"

Mira tried to defend herself but once again everyone reprimanded her in unison. As if the whole world itself had given up on her, Mira stared at Mays with her puppy look as if she wanted Mays to back her up.

"No!"

That one word from Mays shattered Mira's hope. She knew that Mays would say no for sure.

"Hu… Hu… you guys are mean! Even master is mean to Mira!"

Mira pretended to wipe her nonexistence tear as she peeked at Mays and the rest. She was hoping that they would comfort her if she acted that way.

"Can't help it. If you keep acting this way I might seal you back inside the archive cube."

"ANYTHING BUT THAT!!! PLEASE NO!! NO!!"

Mira shouted in denial after she heard what Mays casually said. This time, even real tears dripped out from her glassy eyes. She didn't want to be kept in the dark while the others were enjoying the journey across the world. Going back to the archive cube was totally something not any spirits would have wanted.

The other spirits didn't say anything either. They knew how painful and lonely it was to stay alone inside the spirit tablet. Living inside the tablet was more or less like living in a prison cell without any other living being other than their own selves.

"I'll give you one last chance then. Come."

Mays grinned as he accidentally thought of something amusing. He never planned to seriously put back Mira into the archive cube again. He didn't know that going back to their spirit tablet was hell either.

He felt warm whenever he was surrounded by all these spirits. He just wanted to teach Mira a lesson so that she would have a little self-control.

"Oo… okay."

Mira replied reluctantly. She had no other choice as Mays already made up his mind. Her only way out of this was to complete whatever task Mays assigned to her without fail.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

After no less than the time needed to drink a cup of tea, all five people who were inside the meeting room earlier already rushed out of The Alliance's headquarter building. Their speed could be considered the fastest among all gold ranked fighter. After all, these godkin was way stronger than normal gold ranked fighter. The most shocking fact was that even King Edward himself was also a gold ranked fighter.

"Any idea who that is?"

Jace whispered as he never saw the person who stood in front of them.

"Nope. Nobody famous enough to be noted I bet!"

Leet snorted as he replied. Sanortep just stared at that one person in front of them without saying anything. He was lost in his own thought.

"Who are you? State your reason for barging into our headquarters!"

This time, it was Rose who shouted. She stared at the sole intruder as she tried to measure her strength. The sole intruder was unexpectedly a girl. A short, beautiful girl with a red fiery hair. She was none other than Mira. As for Mays and the rest, they were not within sight. There was only Mira alone who stood in front of the building with several injured guards surrounding her.

"Sanortep of MisfitSociety!! Let's duel!"

Mira shouted loud and clear. She obviously ignored the question asked by Rose. She even focused her sight at Sanortep who just arrived in front of her as if she knew who he was.

"An acquaintance of yours?"

Jace asked Sanortep. It was obvious that this intruder knew who he was. If not she wouldn't stared at him after issuing the challenge.

"I don't know maaan! Hey girl, who are you? Are you someone I know?"

Faced with this kind of situation, Sanortep rubbed his head as if he tried to recall who this person was. Not to mention that most girls who ported here evolved into enchanting beauty which made it harder to recognize them.

"Mira won't answer your question. Come forth and fight!"

"But you just said your name. Hahaha."

Sanortep laughed.

"That… that's just… No! Take this!"

Unable to retort, Mira leapt forward as she initiate an attack toward Sanortep. She waved the staff on her right hand and several fireball flew over in an instant.

"Heh!"

Sanortep smirked as he evade the fireball effortlessly. That kind of basic attack wouldn't even bruised his clothes no matter how many of those fireballs were launched at him.

"That attack was lame missy. Anything better?"

The current Sanortep was totally in the mood to toy with his opponent. He always treated battle as some kind of entertainment. Sanortep punched the floor in front of him using his Lightning Bolt Cestus resulting in a small crater as if initiating some kind of cool pose.

"Bleh, his habit kicks in. Let's just enjoy the show then."

Rose shook her head as she realized Sanortep's fuse had been turned on. Once he was like that, nothing could stop him. He was a battle maniac down to his very soul.

"Storm Rage! Stone Wall!"

One spell after another was casted but Mira was clearly on the defending side. It was hard for a magic caster to triumph over melee class. At the very least, Mira had a great control and solid movement. It was proven by how long her Astral Shield stayed unbroken even after getting hit by Sanortep several time.

[Astral Shield] was a defensive skills for magic caster which could negate almost all physical attack the caster took. It was a higher tier defensive skill compared to [Magic Shield]. It needed good control to recharge the shield every time the caster got hit and Mira did this perfectly while facing off someone like Sanortep.

Nobody knew if Sanortep was serious or not but for sure not everyone present could perform their attack solidly and flawlessly like he had so far. Even other players that had been gathered around the area were in awe when they watched the duel in front of them. It was totally a rare sight for them to witness a fight of this calibre after all.

"Dancing Leaves!"

Storm of leaves appeared out of nowhere and Sanortep got engulfed in it almost instantly. Next moment, he break out of the entrapment without much effort using one of berserker basic defensive skills, [Demon's Roar].

"Demon's Roar!"

"Blood Sacrifice!"

Right after he freed himself from the entrapment, Sanortep used [Blood Sacrifice] to boost himself. Both his eyes were dyed red as his facial feature turned vile and barbaric.

Rooooooooarrrrrr!!

With a loud roar, Sanortep leapt forward like a demonic beast. Mira smiled as she started chanting her spell in a calm demeanor. The fight had just begun.
