The Dream

MEDC OFFICE...

Ellah was busy working, which her secretary respected.

As much as she could, she tried to ignore the pain caused by Gian's leaving.

He’s just a bodyguard after all. She doesn’t deserve to be hurt just by it.

She immersed herself in work, getting busy and focused on some things rather than thinking of him. She used her job to momentarily forget the thoughts of him until lunchtime came.

She glanced at her phone, hoping that there was a message from Gian.

It was the same time that she would receive messages and reminders from him, but now it's empty and there isn’t even one.

She heaved a sigh, completely feeling resentment.

'I’m Ellah Lopez, Don Jaime Lopez’s granddaughter!'

She is the granddaughter of the most powerful man in their area and to tarnish their name by any little scandal is a great disgrace.

"Ms. Ellah, it’s time for your lunch," Jen said.

"You go first. What’s my schedule for today, Jen?”

“You have a scheduled meeting with CBC construction later at 5:00 PM.”

"Okay, thank you."

"Would you like your food delivered to you?"

"No thanks."

Her secretary courageously spoke. "M-Ms. Ellah, is this because of Gian?"

Ellah didn't say anything, she did not want to think it was because of her guard.

The secretary left and looked at the closed door of her boss.

Jen pities her ladyboss for ever since that guard left, she seemed to have lost interest and energy. She feels lethargic about everything.

She seemed sadder compared to when she lost three guards before.

For someone like her, she needs to work hard and not be affected by what is happening.

Ellah massaged her temple, obviously in so much pain.

As soon as the secretary left, she sat in her swivel chair.

She needed energy for the meeting later with the manager of the CBC construction where she could get materials for the tunnel.

She took a sip of her water and lay down again.

Despite the pain in her head, she endured the hunger and tried to slept.

She seemed to have lost her interest in everything.

She felt jealous that her secretary seemed unoccupied unlike her, who has so much to do that she has no room to relax.

She looked away and turned back to her documents before signing them.

People like her who have so many things to do, have no room to be emotional.

A few minutes later she seemed to feel irritated.

She put down the pen that she was holding on the table.

'This is not me!'

Ellah doesn’t let herself starve. She often forgets about it, but she always makes time to eat.

It’s already 4 o’clock. She couldn’t endure it anymore and she started to feel dizzy.

She stood up and picked up her bag.

"Jen, I’ll go first. "

"Alright Ms."

She arrived at the basement and went straight to her car.

"Good afternoon Ms. Ellah!" The three guards greeted her but she ignored them and entered the car silently.

“I have a meeting right now. Bring me to Café Marghareta.” She said and closed her eyes.

They were on the highway when her stomach suddenly ached.

"Ah..." she pressed her stomach.

"What happened to you Ms. Ellah?" In almost unison, the guards asked worriedly.

"M-my stomach hurts. "

"Why? What did you eat?"

"I-I did not... eat... ah, " she was in too much pain.

Dan decided to stop the in front of a porridge restaurant.

Dan immediately ordered Bert to buy porridge.

"Get it with heated water. Manuel, you buy some medicine for stomachache and headache."

The two guards followed Dan's orders so Dan was left with Ellah in the car to watch over her.

"Should I just bring you to the hospital, Ms. Ellah?" Jude suggested that surprised Ellah.

"No! I will never go to the hospital!"

That’s what she fears the most.

She had a traumatic accident with her family when she was young. She was taken to the hospital and had pricks in her hands and even stitches on the side of her forehead.

Bert arrived a couple of minutes later with a bowl of steaming chicken porridge, a cup of hot water, and a bottled mineral water.

Dan immediately took the bowl and tried to feed Ellah with a spoonful of porridge which she immediately refused.

"I’ll do it myself, Dan." She took the spoon in his hand and ate the spoonful of porridge.

Ellah felt relieved as soon as the food reached her stomach. She continued eating the food until she had finished all of it. Dan handed her a glass of hot water and she blew it before drinking.

"Ms. Ellah, here’s the medicine," said Manuel, who was rushing from running.

Dan took it, he opened it and handed the medicine to Ellah along with the mineral water.

Ellah silently took the medicine and said.

“Let’s go to the meet–”

“MS. ELLAH!” They yelled which startled her.

Dan calmed down. “M-Ms. It’s just that you can’t handle it anymore.”

Dan rests her head gently on the pillow.

“What about my meeting?” She complained before closing her eyes.

AMELIA HOMES...

Gian frowned when he saw a man who was alone.

The man's face is blurred so he doesn't recognize him, but he seems to know him very well!

He looked around an old building that he was on because of a mission.

They were looking at each other’s eyes and it tells a lot.

His eyes were filled with confusion, whereas the other guy's were filled with apology.

Gian did not want to make it obvious that he was sweating, cold because of the thing he was holding, it was a forty-five caliber.

The guy next to him spoke.

"Shoot him..." He commanded. It was his boss.

He aimed the gun right at the man’s forehead.

His eyes were soulless when he met him. They were dark and empty.

"Now!" He added.

He muttered an apology with his gaze.

Their eyes met again.

This time, they stared sharply at each other.

But he did not move.

"Do it now!" the man shouted. He pointed the tip of his gun on his head.

Gian aimed at the chest of the person in front of him.

He closed his eyes and pulled the trigger.

He immediately collapsed while his eyes were closed.

The face of the man he killed became clear.

"VINCE!"

Gian suddenly got up.

He was panting heavily and his chest throbbed with nervousness.

"What the fuck! Thank God it's just a dream!"

He went straight to the kitchen and drank a glass of water.

When he came back to his senses, he immediately called his friend.

But Vince was not picking up.

He suddenly felt nervous.

"Bro, answer it!"

He called four times already, but his friend is still not answering.

What if he’s in danger?

What if something happened to him?

What if he’s... ?

"Hell No!"

On his fifth call, someone answered.

"Vince bro! Where are you!"

"Hello Gian?"

It was a woman’s voice.

"Anne?"

"Yes"

He took a deep breath. It was his girlfriend who answered the call.

"Can I talk to Vince?"

"Ahm, he’s taking a bath right now."

He let out a sigh of relief.

"Is that so?"

"I’ll tell him to call you. "

"Alright, thank you. "

He ended the call.

He laid down again.

What he has dreamed about has happened before, but he didn’t kill him because of his betrayal.

Instead of shooting Vince, his comrades in the group were the ones he shot which caused him to almost die.

He remembered what he and Vince had talked about before he fainted because of the amount of bullet wounds.

"Captain Gian! Please fight! Can you hear me?!" Vince tapped his cheek firmly.

"Y-yes, why are you alone w-where is the…"

"Sir?" he tapped his cheek.

"Sir Gian!" he did not utter a word and closed his eyes.

"GIAAAANNN!!!"

That was the last word he heard before his vision went completely black.

He winced when his cell phone rang.

He answered it right away when he saw Vince calling.

"Gian, did you call?"

He sat down. "Bro, I dreamed of you!"

"Is it indecent?"

"I killed you in my dream!"

"You fool! Of all the things you can dream of, why does it have to be me?"

"I don’t know why."

"Goddamn it bro! Sometimes what happens in the dream is the opposite of what will really happen. What if I’m the one who will kill you?"

"Can you do it?" He asked seriously.

"You’re crazier! Do you think I will do that? That's what you get for hallucinating!"

He eventually became serious.

"Bro, always be careful. "

"You too!"

"Bro, what if this is a premonition for you to not return to your job first?"

He couldn’t answer. Is that possible?

He ran his fingers through his hair.

"Honestly, I’m worried too."

"Admit it, you think she can't really be erased from your mind, don't you?"

He exhaled a sigh.

"I know what the answer is. I suggest you don’t take any more missions and just stay at the office.”

"Bro, I don't think I can really go back to normal in such a short time."

"Maybe, it will take you 10 years before you can move on!"

"You fool!"

"Alright then, I’m ending the call, I’m busy right now.”

"Alright, do well with your job, " he teased.

"Yes sir!"

He laughed as he ended the call.

He somehow felt relieved that his friend was not in danger!

While he doesn't even know who was spying on him when he's in danger, he also could not prove that the encounter on the mountain was connected to the scouting that happened, even their boss did not know who sent the message because there was no contact tracing. They're unable to determine where the text message came from.

The informant seemed to be accustomed to this kind of work.

This is really one of the reasons why the don was afraid to let his granddaughter be protected by him.

He heaved a deep sigh.

Now that he just woke up, he felt alone, allowing the memories and thoughts of her to flash before his eyes.

It's been almost a week but here he is, haven’t moved on at all.

He stopped himself from texting or calling Ellah which he has fortunately overcome.

He also often thinks about the misfortunes that she did and laughs about it.

He smiled bitterly.

How could he forget her completely?
