Chapter 11

As the name suggested the Copperback Goliath was a giant Rhino with a height of a 3 story building, huge horn and minerals growing on its back (most commonly copper).

In the morning, I went to the guild to meet up with the party members that I'll be fighting with. As I walked in I saw a small group of people huddled together near a table, 3 men and 1 woman. one of the men saw me enter and called to get my attention. At the moment there were very few people at the guild so they probably knew that the others were not taking part in the extermination.

As I went close the group and asked if they were the Copperback team, answer to whcih was affirmative. I sat at the table and we greeted each other and told one another our fighting style and occupation.

The man who called to me at first was Lukas 2 metres tall,lean build with a scruffy beard and black hear, he was a human mage, rank 6.

Next to him was Zack 1.69m slim guy with a tough looking face, light brown hair with dots of orange, fox kin rogue, rank 7 like me.

Next to me sat Sal who looked like just your average Joe(mama) 1.75m blonde, human archer, rank 6.

And lastly Maika she was 1.7m tall , red hair, muscular but slim, elf paladin, rank 6.

It seemed like we had a pretty balanced team, and our tactic was simple. The paladin would guard the rangers and receive aggro, me and Zach would swap out and attack from close quarters, whilst the mage and archer fired from range. A simple plan to overwhelm a simple enemy.

After everyone checked their supplies and equipment, we set out to kill us some Copperback Goliaths.

The Copperback's resided in a nearby mountainous region and the trip there took us half a day. throughout the trip I always kept my eyes on my companions and acted tired when they were tired, or got hungry when they did. reason being I can't get tired nor hungry, thus I had to make sure to act normal.

As we got closer to the mountain region, I started seeing new creatures that I have never seen before, but when we got even closer, we spotted our target.

The Copperback Goliath was truly a magnificent creature that made you really feel that you were in a fantasy like world.

We quickly and quietly set up camp near a patch of trees and rested to get our energy back(I had not wasted any, nor can I).

As we went over our simple plan, we got ready for battle. The Copperbacks were aggressive creatures but their eyesight was abysmal, meaning they had enhanced hearing. you could guess their age by the color of their fur, if it contained bits of green on the fur that seemed to contain copper ore then it was an adult, if it was silver and bronze then it was young and we were not allowed to touch them unless it was necessary. whilst the elders were mostly covered with rusty copper, giving them a mossy green look.

Our mission was to take down the elder Copperbacks, as to not damage their ecosystem and their horns contain more metallic properties than the younger ones.
