Impossible Requirements To Evolution

Huff! Huff! Huff!

Ryver panted heavily and he staggered unceremoniously backwards as he fell on one knee. Almost all of his stamina had been exhausted by this fight but a mad smile hung at the corner of his lips. This fight was still the hardest he had been involved with in the past two years.

The slightest mistake would have cost him his life. He had to use intense concentration in this battle to avoid being scratched or his skin being punctured or bitten otherwise he wouldn't last a few days and turn to one of them. With his success in killing the beast, it still wouldn't be worth it.

Enduring the overwhelming pain that enveloped the lower part of his body and slowly beginning to affect the other parts, Ryver raised his leg and kicked the creature off his Axe.

The dead body of the creature slammed against a pillar which was still standing and hadn't collapsed by angel fire, creating a cloud of dust in the atmosphere, adding to the foggy radiation.

For safety reasons, Ryver raised his axe and fiercely slashed the neck of the creature again!

Another large chunk of flesh was cut in half and an even larger wave of blood and bodily fluid than the previous one came out of the monster's body.

[You eliminated a 1st Degree Infected; Licker, 5 Evolution points have been extracted]

[You have reached 10 points in Strength, agility and Vitaliy, 30 Evolution points have been granted]

[Three skills have been granted as you have advanced using the three stats.]

[Quake]|[Flash]|[Immunity] (stare to see more information.)

[Bodily limit capped, evo points stored within the archive. To further evolution, you must gather these materials in order to increase the bodily limit in order to use evo point to increase attribute.]

[Nuclei of 1st Degree infected (0/3)]

[Spinal Fluid of mutated human(0/350ml)]

[Bone Marrow of Type 1 mutated beast(0/5kg)]

[Heart of a 2nd Degree infected or a Rank 2 Mutated beast or a Type 2 Mutant or a Level 2 Enhanced Human(0/1) ]

Ryver's expression darkened as he read through the conditions for evolution. He couldn't help but swallow hard as he felt bitter in his heart. Some of these tasks were simply close to impossible to gather. Where was he supposed to get 3 first degree nuclei when he could barely kill one.

This wasn't even what gave him a headache. The fact that he has to find the bone marrow of a Type 1 mutated beast and the spinal fluid of a mutated human made his body ache. How was he supposed to extract spinal fluid and bone marrow? He wasn't even anywhere close to being a doctor.

And as for the final requirement, Ryver didn't want to think too deeply about it. The heart of 2nd class beings? It was simply some kind of joke.

If he had known evolving would be this difficult. He would have chosen to evolve using just one of his attributes, not three of them.

He waved it off and went towards the dead Licker. Its head had been split into two by Ryver's Axe, releasing a dreadful stench that even penetrate Ryver's nose through his gas mask.

Ignoring the stench, Ryver poked around the head of the beast until he finally spotted something. A reddish ball-like substance that seem like a jelly, but looked like a piece of meat.

Amidst the stench, the odour was quite fragrant. Ever since he knew about Nuclei, he had always wanted to taste them.

[Genetic Nuclei: Nuclei contain pure radiation energy gathered from within the body of a beast. It can strengthen the human body if ingested Evolution Points ranging from 0.1 to 10 could be obtained, depending on chance.]

[There is also a 1.0 percent chance Nuclei contain its beastly ancestral genome. Meaning there's a one percent chance of gaining a skill or a technique from a Nuclei]

Ryver didn't wait, nor did he hesitate, he popped the nuclei in his mouth and chewed.

As he chewed, what seem like gas filled his mouth as Ryver pressed down with his teeth. The gas tasted more like powdered glucose, not at all irritating like he thought it might taste like.

[1st-degree nuclei eaten, 2 points of speed gained, 1 point of vitality gained and 1 Evolution point gained to distribute freely.]

[Warning! Evolution points contain Memory Fragments, do you wish to perceive, delete or start skill extrapolation of memory fragments?]

Although surprised, Ryver answered rather quickly. "Start Skill Extrapolation."

[Scanning Memory Fragments...]

[Scan completed. Skill found]

[Skill: Licker's Lament!]

[Licker's Lament: Devour 0.1 Evolution point to release a sharp expandable tongue!]

[Learning Licker's Lament will occupy an entire skill slot, do you wish to learn the technique?]

"Yes!"

[Skill successfully learned!]

Ryver felt a strange feeling grow at the centre of his right palm. The middle of his palm itched so hard Ryver was forced to check it while squeezing his palm hard to relieve himself from the pain. The itch only lasted for about a second before it completely stopped. Ryver stared at his right palm for a while before ignoring it. The itch might be due to the Licker's Lament skill developing in his arm.

He opened his interface and focused his gaze on the skill. Several information popped up beneath but as he was about to read through them when he suddenly gazed behind him.

The hundreds of zombies beneath the second floor garage had gathered, piling up upon each other until they finally reached the top of the broken garage Ryver was on. Now the other zombies could climb through the bodies of the pile of zombies to get to Ryver.

Seeing this, Ryver face fell a bit. The fight had left him exhausted. Even moving was a bit of a pain to him as his legs ached from the Quake ability he had used earlier. The ability exhausting so much of his stamina was beyond his calculations.

The possibility of fighting another horde of zombies and coming out unscathed is zero to nil, therefore Ryver didn't want to risk it with how exhausted he was.

He glanced at his right arm and then at the five zombies headed towards his direction. Outstretching his arm, a slit opened up in the middle of his palm like an eye batting open and a shadow shot out from his palm with astonishing speed.
