Chapter 3 Year 4007

Am I saved? ...

Miranda opened her eyes and saw the room's high red lacquered wooden beams. She is in a dark room, with only the candle flame swaying in the summer breeze.

"Where am I?" She muttered and then sat up. She found that the wounds on her body had been bandaged; the pain had disappeared without a trace.

Miranda curiously looked around and was nearly scared out of her wits by a pair of big eyes not far away!

She casually grabbed the old woolen blanket beside her in a panic and covered herself up as if no one could see her.

After a long time, Miranda made sure there was no movement around her before she dared to show her head outside the blanket again. She looked around again with trepidation and was surprised to find that the eyes staring at her came from a massive statue of Buddha.

Is this a temple?

Miranda finally breathed a sigh of relief; the August weather was hot; she just hid under the wool blanket, dared not breathe, but held a sweat. She wiped her forehead with the woolen blanket, slowly stood up and looked around more carefully.

This temple seems to be a long time lack of repair, dilapidated. Although the Buddha statue is still preserved intact, the circumference is covered with dust. She even saw spider webs everywhere in the room.

Miranda patted the dust on her body while walking to the center of the room. She can now see the complete picture of the house. She shockingly found a wall that has collapsed, most of the roof trembling and tilting.

Seeing this scene, Miranda concluded - here is a broken temple that may collapse at any time; she has to leave as soon as possible ...

Just when she was ready to take a step to escape, she suddenly felt a burst of dizziness, followed by the brain flashing all kinds of images before the coma.

"Where are that crazy fox and the little panda that saved me!" After the dizziness, Miranda remembered everything and couldn't help but exclaim, "Shouldn't I be in the bamboo forest?!"

No sooner had she said that than she heard an unfamiliar voice, asking, "What bamboo forest?!"

Miranda looked to the voice source in a panic and saw a young man walking through the door holding a bag. He was only in his early twenties, with handsome features and hair tied high behind his head, looking unordinary. But his outfit is extremely mismatched with his looks. He wore navy blue coarse linen clothes, patches of various colours can be seen everywhere on his body, a pair of shoes on his feet is even more pathetic, green patches under the original colour can not be seen.

Putting aside the man's identity, his dress made Miranda shudder!Something is wrong with this man; he dressed like someone from thousands of years ago!

"I must be in a dream; no wonder the wounds on the body do not hurt."

As she was muttering, Miranda hurriedly stretched out her hand, fiercely pinched up her tiny face and wrung it.

"Ouch...! It hurts!" She screamed out, her eyes immediately filled with tears.

The man watched all this and could not help but grin widely, "Hahahaha, what are you doing? Do you think you are dead?"

Miranda couldn't care less about him; she couldn't believe it was real, she excitedly ripped the gauze off her wrist bandage, only to see that the wound had healed, leaving only two sharp teeth marks scars. Unbelievably, she ripped open the other two wounds' bandages, and they were in the same condition.

"How is this possible?! I was obviously bitten just today..."

The man came close to her and looked at it, his face showing the same look of amazement, "I didn't think that old man was really a miracle doctor; it wasn't in vain that I paid for the healing of half a meatloaf!" He turned his face to look at Miranda, laughing: "You must remember my kindness and pay me back."

Miranda froze in place. A thought kept popping up in her head - am I transmigrated? It doesn't make sense...usually, transmigration happens on specific occasions or to people who experience special events or even death. Does this mean, in the 21st century, she was bitten to death by a fox? It's not right... Miranda shook her head; the fox bite wound was still there and had healed, proving that she was not dead.

Miranda looked down at herself again; she was wearing a light pink silk robe with a blue belt around her waist, much like an ancient Taoist robe...

"Huh, these are not my clothes. Am I in someone else's body who also bitten by a fox coincidently?" Thinking about it, Miranda suddenly looked up and asked the man, "Do you have a mirror?"

The man thought her behaviour was odd and funny and shook his head unsurely.

Miranda looked around again but did not find her phone, nor did she see the bag she was wearing when she left home.

"Did you see a crazy fox?" Miranda asked.

"I saw it, a red-haired fox."

"Where is the little red panda that saved me?"

"He went out to look for food; should be back by now."

Miranda felt more strange; there's no doubt she was bitten by a red fox and saved by a red panda. But how did she suddenly arrive in this strange place?

If you don't understand, ask! Miranda looked at the man, took a deep breath, gathered enough courage and asked, "What year is it? Where are we?"

"Year 4007, Sichuan." The man patiently answered her question while pulling out a burrito from the bag in his arms and handing it to her.

What?!!!! She did not travel back to ancient times but to the future?

Miranda's mind was messing; how could she be in the mood to eat. The man saw her ignore himself; he shrugged his shoulders and served the hot burrito into his mouth with a satisfied look on his face.

Miranda thought about it and still felt that everything did not make sense; she could not easily believe the words of one person; she had to see for herself!

The man leaned against the wall, eating a bite of burrito, picking up the water bag to drink a mouthful of water, very comfortable.

Seeing Miranda leave suddenly, the man mumbled vaguely, "It's late at night; where are you going?"

"Bamboo forest!" Miranda said, "I'd like to see where the crossing passage is!"

With that, she rushed towards the door, but unexpectedly she just stepped out of the temple steps and bumped into a little red panda.

The little red panda was walking holding a bag!!! Just like a human!
