Veil of Uncertainty (andTEAM_K Fanfic)

(Angst with happy ending) Dating a popular celebrity is one thing. Being friends with another is the best thing. Seems like a dream that usually never come true and when they do, the person living this life probably thinks of it as rainbows and unicorns type of thing. However, when reality hits, everything crumbles like pieces of puzzle. Disclaimer: No copyright infringement intended on idols. The story is mine but I don’t claim ownership on the idols mentioned. My tears blurred my vision yet I still managed to arrive home safely. The lights are still on and I reckon if I enter the living room, Sooha will ask me a lot of questions so I decided to walk it off.

The streets are surprisingly lively at this time of the night, bright and filled random lights. I forgot there was a week-long bazaar going on to attract more tourists' attention.

I wiped my face with the back of my hand and tried my best to enjoy the scenery. A monkey performance show was ongoing, teens and adults played along.

My stomach started to growl at the smell of pork barbecue, especially when the sauce emitted a sweet and spicy flavor.

It reminded me that I forgot to eat dinner and now I'm starving. However, since I forgot my bag at the shop, I had to go home or else I might pass out on the streets and end up bothering other people.

This never happened to me before.

To actually feel the need to feed makes me wonder if I'm taking this fall way better than the first time I experienced it. Either way, there's no escaping the suffering. Physically or mentally.

As soon as I've arrived, I rang the doorbell and Sooha opened the door for me a few minutes later.

"Welcome home (Y/N)."

She looked at me confused but didn't ask a thing. I was about to ask why she's been sweating but the thought of her doing some cardio made me keep my mouth shut.

"Thanks, sorry did I woke you up?"

"Not really. I was still watching tv upstairs. I was actually getting worried if you fell asleep in the shop."

"Ah. No, I just forgot the time while reading some stuff on the internet."

My lies are piling up at this point I'm not gonna be surprised if I get hit by karma one of these days.

"You look tired."

Sooha said while widening the door to let me in.

"A bit. I'll just take a bath and sleep afterwards."

"Have you eaten?"

"Y-yes.

"I see. I'll head back to my room then."

I just nodded and watched her leave. My heart's beating fast due to my guilty conscience so I decided to sink my whole body inside the bathtub and waited the faucet to fill it in.

"I'll never forgive you…"

K's words seared in my brain, preventing me to fall asleep while staring blankly at the clogged drain.

My body doesn't want to move but my mind couldn't help but worry about the water filling up the bathroom later when I shower if I don't clean the hair over it.

I grunted as I stood up. My legs started to ache a bit and putting pressure on them feels like hell. I guess that long walk really placed a toll on my body and now it's hurting more than it's emotional counterpart.

To my surprise the amount of hair wasn't that much but there was something underneath that's causing the water to spread out to a puddle

A condom.

I was so shocked to see a used package because we have a rule in this house and worse, I can only think of one guy at the moment.

I quickly wrapped my body with a towel to ask Sooha directly but a half naked stranger almost bumped into me outside the bathroom door, near the fridge.

I screamed and darted towards the main door without looking back, thinking it was a home invasion.

I managed to leave the house but I accidentally bumped against something hard after I passed the gate. Luckily my towel was secured at the front so I was able to grab ahold to save it.

"K-K?!"

My eyes widened at the sight of him.

"What happened? I heard your voice from a mile away."

"I saw a guy-"

That's all I said and he immediately stormed the house. I had to follow closely because I was worried he might get hurt and to call for help before something bad happen.

"Wait!"

Sooha was running downstairs when I entered the house and we both saw K punching the face of a tattooed guy on his black boxers laying on the floor.

"Stop please!"

Sooha yelled and embraced K from behind.

My heart sank at the view but I have no right to interfere.

K stood up and fixed his unbuttoned blue checkered polo-shirt over a white sleeveless shirt in place while glaring at the guy whimpering with his eyes closed.

"Call the cops."

K suggested himself even though we both know he shouldn't be involved in this scenario. No matter what we say, everyone will think it's his fault. Yet he didn't care. It hurt me more that he's willing to sacrifice his career for her.

"N-no, this is a misunderstanding…"

Sooha looked at him and me alternately. She looked worried but I don't understand why.

"What do you mean?"

K sounded annoyed. He's always been transparent with his feelings and it somehow looks to me that he's jealous that she's trying to defend the stranger.

"He's… my ex."

K's as surprised as I am because I never heard about her dating anyone else before K revealed their relationship to me.
