Chapter 98: Discussing the Future
Only the servants were at home when Steven walked in at the front door and on towards the kitchen with Gwyneth.
“My, what have you done to your hair?” Elsie, the cook exclaimed staring at Steven in surprise.
“Oh, I just felt like a change when I was over there,” Steven responded, rubbing over his hair self-consciously.
“Where are my parents?” he asked.
“They’re on a business trip because they clearly didn’t know that you were coming back today,” Elsie responded with a stern look at Steven.
“We just both wanted to surprise our parents today,” Steven responded in a disappointed tone of voice.
“Yes, but we’re being surprised ourselves instead?” Gwyneth responded.
“So, how were those Japanese islands?” Elsie asked while she took Steven’s luggage from him.
“No, I can do that myself,” Steven responded, trying to keep her from helping him carry his luggage to his bedroom.
“We went to another place, but don’t tell my parents. I will tell them myself,” Steven responded.
