Chp 33:Phone call

Evan's POV:

My blood pulsed with worry. Where could he of ran off to. I knew I should of checked up on him sooner. I just had to give him more space didn't I? I knew he was unstable and I still left him in that room unattended.

'I'm an idiot.'

My thoughts were silenced from the sudden ringing coming from Lucas's and my room. He had left his phone at home and ran off without it.

I picked it up and received an instant apology.

"I'm sorry. It was immature of me to run off and leave you to worry like that."

It was Lucas, his voice was abit shakey but honest.

"I don't want to a vampire right now. You were right I have so much more to do as a human that I'll have plenty of time to master vampire life later on."

"I understand," I said earnestly. "Where are you? I'll come get you." Worry overtaking my voice.

"No it's okay, I'll get a friend to drop me off. I'll be home soon. You stay there and heat me some pudding." He hummed excitedly. I could feel that bright smile of his coming through the phone.

"Alright, I'll do that. see you soon."

I chuckled.

"Hehe. okie bye!"

The call ended and It was instantly quiet.

'Friend? What friend? He seemed genuinely certain to not let me figure out where he was.'

'Oh well, I'll just stop thinking about it right now and just heat that pudding. The more I think, the more I stress myself out.'

I heated the pudding and in no time the door flung open. That big bubbly smiled lifted the entire empty atmosphere in my apartment.

Lucas came running in with his arms up for a hug. I accepted and lifted him into the air, spinning in circles and tightening my grip on him. Scared that if I was too loose that I may lose him.

"I was seriously worried y'know." I mumbled into his embrace.

"I know. Thanks for worrying about me. I promise not to do it again." He mumbled back, tightening the hug again.

"Okay enough. I think I'm starting to lose oxygen!" I yelped.

He chuckled and released me, planting a large kiss on my lips.

He smiled at me warmly and chuckled, "I love you."

"I love you too my kitty!" I teased, exhausted from how long I had been serious, without a single tease the whole day.

"Ohh yea, I heated that chocolate pudding you like. But its probably gone cold now."

His eyes sparkled and he dashed to the kitchen, instantly reheating it. He sat there at the microwave waiting with anticipation.

As soon as it dinged, he dove his spoon right in there for a spoonful.

"Mmmmmm!"

I chuckled at his silliness and embraced him from behind. We had only been separated from each other for a few hours and I had already forgotten his warmth.
