Chapter 37：Reassignment

After returning to work at the salon, Li Weijie was naturally subjected to jokes from his colleagues about the mark on his lips, with everyone asking him if he had a romantic encounter during his two-day break. Li Weijie simply smiled and didn't offer any explanation.

Getting back into work mode, Li Weijie put aside everything that happened during his two-day break and focused on his tasks seriously.

In the afternoon, Sun Mo asked Li Weijie to go to the CEO's office.

Li Weijie also had a reason to find Xu Rong, but he didn't feel comfortable going directly to her office. He had originally planned to ask her in the evening when he returned home, but now he could conveniently ask her while going to the CEO's office.

As he reached the third floor, Li Weijie bumped into Shen Mengli in the corridor. She had just come out of Xu Rong's office and was on her way back to her studio.

"Ajie, you look good!" Shen Mengli shook her hair and smiled as she greeted him.

Originally, Shen Mengli's greeting was just a casual remark, but Li Weijie was feeling guilty. Seeing that she came out of Xu Rong's office, he thought maybe Xu Rong had told her something, and his face turned slightly red. "Hello, Ah Li."

"Why are you..." 

A top-notch image designer like Shen Mengli was very observant, and she immediately caught on to Li Weijie's slight blushing, which she hadn't noticed before. She spoke up.

"Hehe..." Shen Mengli covered her mouth and gave a playful smile. She went into her studio.

Li Weijie let out a sigh of relief and continued walking forward.

There was another top designer on the third floor, the one he saw last time, the man with long hair. Li Weijie already knew his name was Liu Li, but they hadn't interacted much. 

After the first visit with Xu Rong, he didn't come up again, so naturally, he wasn't familiar with Liu Li. Today, Liu Li was not around, probably out for a client visit.

Aside from Shen Mengli's studio, there were a few big offices on the third floor, and now only the CEO's office had lights on. Although Li Weijie had only been here once, he could still find his way.

After knocking on the door and entering, Li Weijie saw Xu Rong busy typing on her keyboard. She casually asked him to have a seat and poured him a glass of water, before he sat on the sofa, waiting for her to finish her work.

After returning to the store, Xu Rong seemed to have transformed into a different person. She didn't have the relaxation of her day off but exuded a sense of authority, similar to Shen Mengli when she was working. Xu Rong's focused demeanor gave Li Weijie a sense of seriousness.

Seeing the beautiful woman furrowing her brows, as if encountering some difficult matter, Li Weijie couldn't help but think to himself that such a beauty should be doing something easier, like a position where she could handle all the administrative work. It would be better to have a man in that position.

He didn't have any ulterior motives; he just felt that Xu Rong was treating him well and instinctively wanted to consider her. He also hoped to be able to help her more someday.

"What are you looking at? Worried that your girlfriend will scold you again?" 

At some point, Xu Rong had already lifted her head and noticed that Li Weijie was sitting there staring at her work. Her cheeks blushed slightly.

Li Weijie cleared his throat and replied, "Um... it's just that Su Kek... our relationship is very pure. We're just officially boyfriend and girlfriend in the name." He briefly explained the situation.

Xu Rong walked over to the sofa where Li Weijie was sitting and listened to his words. She smiled and said, "Why do you need to explain to me? I was just joking. Of course, I'm happy for you that you've moved on from your heartbreak and found a good girlfriend."

Li Weijie smiled self-deprecatingly. "I just didn't want you to misunderstand. I was afraid you would make more jokes. Oh, by the way, Sister Rong, did you call me here for something?"

Xu Rong raised her eyebrows and smiled softly. "Hehe, you're looking good. I think I made a mistake with your salary card yesterday. You received more than just a month's salary. Did I get it wrong?"

Yesterday, when he went to withdraw money, there was not only his salary of over 10,000 yuan in the card but also a few thousand extra. Later, because he was with Su Keko the whole time, he didn't want to bring it up when he saw Xu Rong. He had planned to talk to her about it later when he returned in the evening.

Xu Rong revealed a knowing smile. "No, it's not a mistake. Although you have a fixed monthly salary, I have the power to give you a bonus."

"What? A bonus for a newcomer like me? That much?" Li Weijie was very surprised.

"Your skills and charm have exceeded my expectations. Why shouldn't I give you such a bonus?" Xu Rong questioned back with a smile.

"Skills? Charm?"

"I already said, your professional skills have reached the requirements, even surpassing the level of an assistant. As for charm, hehe... Don't you already have a stable big client?"

Seeing Xu Rong's somewhat mischievous smile, Li Weijie understood what she meant and couldn't help but laugh wryly. "You mean Keko? It's a misunderstanding. She probably won't come to me on purpose... anymore."

"Come on, you two have arguments... cough, don't worry, I can tell Keko likes you." As she spoke, Xu Rong's gaze flickered a few times, seeming a bit unusual.

After pondering for a moment, Li Weijie couldn't help but smile wryly, realizing that she had misunderstood. What he meant was that he had resolved the "grudges" with Keko from before, so she probably wouldn't come to intentionally mess up his hairstyle anymore. But Xu Rong seemed to be worried about last night's incident...

"Enough about that, let's not talk about it anymore. Just take the bonus I gave you. I'm considering it as the boss." Xu Rong said, returning to a serious tone. "I called you here because I have something to discuss with you."

As Xu Rong said, Li Weijie didn't say much and didn't want to dwell on explaining the situation to Su Keko. He listened attentively to what Xu Rong had to say.

"I never saw you as just an assistant. I didn't want you to be here just for a job. I want you to become a top-notch designer! The assistant role is only the first step, and originally, you would need more time for training. But... the situation is a bit special now, so we have to speed up the process."

Xu Rong spoke seriously, pausing for a moment before continuing, "Starting tomorrow, you will be assigned as Ah Li's dedicated assistant, directly following her to learn and train, aiming to improve your comprehensive abilities as quickly as possible!"

Li Weijie felt grateful for Xu Rong's cultivation, and he couldn't help but think about her mentioning the special circumstances.
