Eight

The two ladies had only spent a week in Gradv pack but it seemed like a year. The grey wolf that had tried to intimidate them while they were at the pack border begging for food seem to have held a grudge.

He hated how the others had teased him over the lack of fear the ladies had shown while he tried scaring them off.

And Eliza, an omega of the pack also hated them for reasons the ladies are yet to know of.

Although they haven't been allowed to make any food which they both were grateful for as the pack would have probably been poisoned by their cooking, they were made to do every thing regarding peeling. From onions to garlic, to ginger, and even potatoes.

This had their shoulders hurting from having been left in a bending position for too long. Oh, how nice would it have been if that was all they were meant to do.

The omega's in this pack, or probably in every pack seem to have a leader of their own. And in this case, Antonella and Lillian were less than trash to them.

Not only were they wolf-less but they were also rogues.

Those are the perfect recipe to be bullied.

When any omega feels low or is being talked down on by the other pack members, they make Antonella and Lillian their abuse bag. This little show of superiority had unfortunately gotten into some of them too much.

"What is this huh?! I asked you to wash this cloth since and you left it here?!" Christy, a petite blonde who also happens to be an omega questioned as she glared at them. Christy is more of a gang leader type. She is the head cook's daughter hence why she can do anything and get away with it as long as she is within the omega quarters.

Right now she was glaring at Lillian who had her head lowered. Lillian was upset, she felt like tearing up this lady who wouldn't have had a chance to ever speak to her had she met her just three weeks ago.

But she swallowed it, their goal is much more important than this thing before her. Letting out some air through her mouth, she lowered her head even more. "I am sorry." Her voice meek.

This had Christy smiling internally, earlier when a pack member had scolded her, she had been feeling so displeased but seeing the useless lady whose head was lowered before her right now had her feeling better.

"Oh will you shut up you piece of trash... You are not even worthy of being called trash. You are less than trash, less than those termites that eat rotten food. You aren't worth breathing the same air as I am, you idiotic thing!" Lillian wasn't shocked to hear all of this. Antonella and her have heard worse than those names.

"I am sorry." She apologized again while her wolf whimpered in anger. She was annoyed, how dare a rat insult her? But then, they had to endure it all. This insult and even more insults since this pack can provide them security for the time being.

Antonella on the other hand also had her head down as she peeled some potatoes, she ground her teeth together to stop herself from talking, from defending her friend!

"I am sorrym" Christy mimicked Lillian and went on to poke her head. "You..." poke "Are..." poke "Nothing..." poke "A..." poke "Nobody..." poke.

The spectators laughed watching Christy poke Lillian who did not react. Her head was lowered so much that none of them could see the redness of her eyes. Lillian was holding back her tears, not from being poked, but from the misfortune they found themselves suddenly.

Never had she imagined she would be amid wolves like this, never did she think she will have to do any chores for someone, never did she think she would be poked by a mere omega. But alas, here she was, being insulted, maltreated, and poked and all she can do is to take it in quietly.

"I heard her telling her friend she won't wash the clothes." Eliza who was part of the spectators spoke causing more mumbling to arise.

Christy was mad, very much so. "Is that true?" She gritted out as she glared at Lillian.

"No, I never said such a thing." Lillian quickly denied it.

"So you are saying she lied?" Her taunting tone made Lillian realize just how wrong she was to have denied the allegation. Either way she is going to receive more insults from them.

Her thought was interrupted by the sound of a slap, she heard the sound before she felt the sting. Her hand instantly went to touch as cheeks as she looked up with disbelief.

This is different from being insulted, how dare they slap her?!

Antonella too had instantly walked over to her friend after the slap. "Lillian..." She called her friend, worry etched on her face. She wasn't worried about these wolves, even though they might be tagged weak, they weren't too weak to take these wolves down but the problem was the other pack members.

They would come for them...

"Oh, you want to fight me huh?" Christy hadn't planned on slapping her but now that she did it, she feels like doing it again. Those spectating too hadn't thought Christy would do such a thing as it was an offense to fight among themselves. They would be punished by the Alpha. But then again, they were nothing but rogues. Rogues that haven't been presented before the Alpha. Doesn't that mean even the Alpha thinks they are worthless...

Inside a room in the pack house, the Gradv beta has also been concerned over the Alpha's lack of interest in the rogues he had brought in. ' Shouldn't he be questioning them and make them swear their loyalty to the pack?' This thought had burdened him for a while now.

"Maybe you should ask the Alpha. I am certain he is not pleased with the fact you brought them in." His mate made it clear she hated what he did. She might have been a rogue once but now she is a beta female. Most of the younger pack members do not even remember that part of her but her mate, the one who should understand her the most just had to go look for rogues to help.

Was he trying to remind her of her origin?

Wasn't it enough that the Alpha looks at her with disgust even to this day, does her mate have to refresh the Alpha's memory of when she had first joined this pack?!

How hateful.

"I think you are right. It has been a week already." The beta agreed to his mate not knowing she hated his guts at this very moment. "I will go and meet him now." He told her and moved close for a kiss, his mate subtly turned her face and his kiss landed on her cheeks instead. Not thinking much about that, he left to go meet with the Alpha.

"Alpha," he bowed respectfully. The Alpha was sat behind his wooden desk, his glasses on as he read through some papers.

"Yes?" The Alpha questioned without looking up from his papers. One could see a line or two forming on his forehead every once in a while.

"It is about the rogues I brought in last time. You... Should I bring them over to you?" The beta asked, happy he was able to correct himself before he makes a mistake in his words.

"Why?" The Alpha asked again still not looking away from his papers.

"The ritual. You have to see them so they can perform the ritual." Without the ritual, they can't be recognized as a part of the pack, they won't have a link with us, and their loyalty...

"Why should I?" The Alpha finally looked up from his paper. "I have no plans of making them one of us." He chuckled coldly. They both knew what happens among the omegas. They are still the pack leaders after all. The weak omega gets intimidated and bullied by the others causing the suicide rate among omegas to be on the rise.

"When you let them inside the pack, you made them a sacrificial lamb for those omegas to let their frustration on. With their death, I won't feel it neither will I have to be saddened by it. I must commend you James, you gave us a new idea." The Alpha laughed coldly as he picked his paper back.

He didn't need to say it out, his dismissive tone was enough for the beta to know he should get out.

"And James, don't you dare try to get them out. You brought them in without my approval but for them to leave my pack..." He left his words hanging while James bowed one more time and walked out of the office. His heart filled with guilt.

He should have just given them money and sent them away...
