After three years of marriage, Wendy Stewart was used to Michael Lucas's sarcastic remarks, his frequent threats about getting divorced, and even his indulgence of a mistress. She already knew that Wendy had returned to Lake City with a child, and that Michael was indeed the biological father. Even though she did not understand what exactly had happened five years ago, she believed both Wendy and Michael.
