Chapter 9 Divorce

Lydia turned towards Maddison, she laughed a little, "Hearing the second aunt say that, my present situation is indeed very dangerous. But regardless of how I end up, I'm now William Chang's wife. I believe Old Madam Chang will give me a satisfactory ending."

Maddison Chu grins, "You're hoping that Old Madam Chang, who sees her grandson in a coma and then looks for another woman to impregnate his child to defend the Chang Family's inheritance. Do you expect her to bring you a satisfying ending? You have a very simple mind. Miss Lydia, you'd better cooperate with me, I might be able to help you."

Lydia's smile froze for a while, but burst out laughing, "Second aunt, you better be concerned for yourself. Worst case, I wouldn't have had help from the Chang Family, but Aunt Maddison, you..."

Maddison Chu was lookin' at Lydia with hatred, "Indeed, the person chosen by the Old Lady cannot change depending on the situation as she does."

Next thing she knows, Maddison passed her side.

Lydia frowned for a while, then walked down. After Lydia told the chef to cook the porridge, Old Madam Chang told somebody to call her upstairs.

When she reached William's bedroom, Lydia took a deep breath, and then knocked lightly on William's door. A soft woman's voice came from the inside, "Come in!"

Lydia opened the door and went into the bedroom. The moment she opened the door, Lydia caught sight of William. William was wearing a thin black sweater, and a cold aura came from his body. He looked up at the corner, giving a brief glance at Lydia. In that glance he seemed cold and condescending, it seemed that William already knew everything.

Lydia turned her face to look at the Old Madam Chang, she asked in a gentle voice, "Are you looking for me?"

After Lydia closed the door, Old Madam Chang gazed carefully at Lydia. Then she asked Lydia in a small voice, "Do you still want to be the Young Madam of the Chang Family?"

Lydia clenched her fists, staring into her stomach. Compared to the question of whether the Ahn Family could still get help from the Chang Family, she was actually more concerned for the child in her belly. Ahn's Family did not have any help because her luck was not good, she agreed! But this child is truly pitiful and exists only for benefit. That kid didn't even ask to come into this world, and now she's supposed to have an abortion because his dad's already awake?

Lydia did not immediately answer the question of Old Madam Chang. She answered in one small voice, "I am now a mother. If I don't turn into William Chang's wife, will that child be aborted? Do you mind if I keep it?"

William responded with a cool voice, "Let's get divorced! You can get pregnant for money, of course you can have abortions for money too. Besides, if that child isn't around, wouldn't it be better for you? I can't have a woman like you being my wife, the mother of my child. I will prepare for your surgery as soon as possible to abort the baby. Then find some time to divorce. I trust you'll keep a secret. Don't mention the relationship you have with the Chang Family. Never!"

In fact, Lydia had already figured out what William thought about herself. William despises her, a woman who can sell her womb and impregnate other people's children for money. No, actually anybody would despise her, wouldn't they? Sometimes she even looks down on herself. Lydia also knew that without this child, she would have an easier life. But if she had an abortion, Lydia might find herself very disgusting. If she actually did this, would she qualify as human? She got pregnant on account of money? And now she's getting an abortion over money?

The Old Madam Chang turned towards William, said in a persuasive tone, "William, Lydia has her own difficulties. I decided to marry her and put her in the Chang Family, so I'm not letting her leave easily. She appears in our time of great distress, willing to give birth to your child. Plus, she's only spending one night with you, but you're waking up from your coma. She is your lucky star!"

"What lucky star? Grandma, all of this is just a coincidence. Even if she doesn't come to my side, I will wake up too." William Chang responded in an sarcastic manner.

In that regard, William Chang looked at Lydia with a disdainful look. To be looked upon with hatred, of such a handsome man, was an unpleasant experience for every woman.

The Old Madam Chang raised her voice, shouted at William Chang. "What are you talking about by coincidence? I've been waiting for one year. I've been waiting patiently for the last year, but you haven't woken up! The members of the Chang Family have all asked me to put your second uncle in charge of the family business. I kept pushing this issue back and forth. I was hoping you'd wake up, but you stayed asleep. Why then was there no coincidence? I was left with no choice. The only thing I can do is find her and have her deliver your child. Lydia's just sleeping by your side for one night, and you're awake. How do you know she's not your lucky star? I never believed in it before, but for your good, I prayed to all the gods! There's nothing I don't believe in, as long as you're okay. I'm ready to bow down to all the gods! If there really is a fate, then it's her that brings you luck. You can't get a divorce!"
