Chapter 39

After our usual weekend training, Jeff suggested that he would like to attend a friend's birthday party held in the hotel. He said that the party will be great as the boy's father is a politician. I queried whether our parents would permit us to attend but Jeff was less concerned about what Jimmy and Madam Ruth may say. I made him know that I also want to attend. He agreed that we'll go together. Derrick didn't even argue whether Jeff would allow him to attend. He gave a deaf ear to the party stuff.

To my surprise, Jeff told his mum that he wants to attend a birthday party and she agreed. I also informed her that I would like to go with Jeff. Madam Ruth gave me her approval. The first in history. I know had been Still staying with Sandra, she would never allow me to go to any party. Since it was my first time going to a party, I pleaded with Jeff to help me suggest the cloth I'll wear to the party.

I continued pleading with him until he followed me into my room. Jeff is just too selective. Whatever I put on, he'll say he doesn't like it. I kept on changing and changing clothes

The boss has spoken and so shall it be!!! I said sarcastically Jeff chuckled. I smiled in return.

Because Madam Ruth agreed that I should attend the party, I started on time to finish all the works I'm supposed to do in the evening. I tidied up all rooms. Mopped wherever can be mopped. I even helped Jeff to wash clothes so no one would hold anything against me during the time for the party. I rested for a while then went and prepared the dinner before the time.

I was frequently asking Jeff the exact time we should leave. He would just tell me that he'll let me know at the due time. I was just extraordinarily happy during the day. I can't even explain the exact reason.

I don't know whether I was too curious about the party. Everyone could notice the joy on my face. The inscription was loud. That's how Uncle Jimmy just got home and noticed something extraordinary

Jessy, you're too excited today. Is there any reason behind it or you're just in a good mood today? I believe something is behind it. Can you shear? Jimmy asked with a deep smile on his face

Uncle, I'm just in a good mood. Besides I'm always in a good mood sir. I answered to make him leave me alone but seems he was not ready to move on.

I can't just believe it. Did my wife buy anything for you? Just tell me the exact thing that happened. Jimmy kept inquiring to know more

Uncle continues teasing me. Did you buy anything for us as you're coming back? I want to eat cupcakes.

Uncle you won't just let me be. You just asked this question because I requested a cupcake. It's alright. I ate nothing special this evening and I'm ok. You're welcome, sir... I said as he already stole my smile.

Okay, Jessy, I'll get you a cupcake. Don't get things twisted. I was joking. Continue with your work. I'm not with the cupcake but I promise to get it for you...I never knew Jimmy could use such a pleasant tone on me.
