Chapter XLVII - A Beautiful World (part 2)

After we had our dinner, we bid farewell to Hod and left. Valey and Barett head in the same direction, which is the noble's housing. Cony on the other hand, went to her home which is on the commoner's section.

Before leaving, she told me that she felt bad to be a commoner, since everyone else on her team either came from a noble family or was once a nobility.

Of course, I reminded her I have no family, no houses, and no one to live with. She gagged after that and began feeling thankful towards her life. And she considered me a sister, since we're both technically commoners.

After the chat, I went straight back home alone with a full stomach. Though my body is overly powerful now, my mind is tired.

I just needed some sleep... hopefully that will fix everything.

I opened my room's door, dropped everything on the floor, and slept naked.

Oh boy... What a day.

My teammates nearly died. I nearly died. In fact, things could've gotten so badly had my magic not appeared.

Thank you... for returning my magic to me. I am forever grateful...

The next morning was quite cold. The sound of the bell almost didn't make it to my ears, thanks to the heavy rain outside. I woke up nearly freezing to death.

Why the hell did I sleep naked??

I put on my thick clothing, the furry ones. The feeling of soft and smooth furs is really good. Then, I looked at the horror right in front of me.

I forgot that my room was a mad scientist's room, just the night before. And I still haven't cleaned that up. There's papers, books, and a few glass cups from the experiments I did yesterday.

Time to clean up, I guess.

There are books and papers everywhere, along with a little bit of the broken glass that I somewhat missed when I cleaned up earlier. I picked up the raw materials that Hod and the others had brought for me. Some of them are depleted since I used all of the stock. There are some that still have a little bit.

I ended up trashing them anyway. They all have an expiration date, so keeping them won't do me any good.

I kept the written note of the materials that I used inside my magic ring. If the queen comes again to the healing act, I can give it to her. Maybe she could help mass produce it so that other people could also be cured.

Today is the weekend. The healing act comes first. After that... I have to beat up a White ranked adventurer. What a day this is going to be.

I looked outside, and it seemed to be raining quite heavily. The sun is completely closed out by the dark clouds, and I can barely see anything outside the window.

No wonder it was so cold. It's dead in the morning, and it's raining.

I closed the curtains again and continued cleaning up. Once everything was in place, I headed to the shower and bathed. I thought that I'm starting to get used to the whole body changing thing, but once I looked down, I changed my mind.

Every time I bathed, I never looked down. I don't want to see the cruel reality that those beings had downed for me. It's ripping my pride and soul.

But, I managed to look down once this time. And holy hell my assets are massive.

After cleaning up, I put on the casual attire and headed outside to the healing act.

The rain didn't really matter because I have a waterproof cloak that is also a raincoat with me. I wore that, and I began heading to the church.

It's still too early for the act, but I just want to walk in the rain. It's surprisingly enjoyable.

The outside during the rain is quite peaceful. As the sun gradually formed in the east, the red skies blended with the dark grey one. The rain started to subside and people started coming out.

They already invented umbrellas here. I don't know how or why, but I'm guessing the umbrellas weren't as compact as the one back in my world. They also don't look anything like the umbrellas in my world, either.

The umbrellas are circular, and they are made of some sort of waterproof cotton material. The same material I am wearing for my waterproof coat, which is sturdy and waterproof, but also quite heavy.

The rain dissipates quickly, and the roads are filled with ponds everywhere. Though the rain was quite heavy, there's no flooding here at all.

The birds started chirping as the clouds moved away, letting the sunlight bath the wet kingdom. My eyes caught the scenery of the western main road that is now being shined brightly by the sunlight, and I was amazed by what my eyes had been blessed with.

This... isn't a good spot to see things. Let's switch places, shall we?

Remembering that I can use magic, I enchanted a ton of energy to my legs. I started leaping up really high to the top of the building near me, and I arrived twenty meters in the air. From up here, I can finally see the beautiful scenery properly.

This world has a ton of beautiful sceneries. Never once have I seen anything like this back in my world. Thank god for magic.

Because I am heading east, the sun is right in front of me, and it showed me the beautiful peaceful morning day right in front of me. I opened the hood and felt the breezy air shoved into my head.

It feels... really good when you are not sick.

After enjoying the moment and the scenery, I continued my walk to the church. By the time I arrived, there weren't that many people there.

"Rize! You are early."

"Yes, ma'am. I wanted to come earlier."

A nun at the door welcomed me. I didn't know her name, so I just called her ma'am.

"If you are here, then we can start earlier. Go see Khel. You know where to find her."

"Thank you."

I quickly head to the back, leaving her sweeping the room.

The nuns that lived here were doing a meeting in the middle room, where the kitchen and bedroom is at. I just waved my hands and looked at Khel. She quickly walked towards me and led me to the underground again.

"So, how are you feeling?"

She asked me when she was grabbing the clothes for a nun. The one she always prepared for me.

"A lot better, now. I think I'm pretty much healed."

"What? Really? That's great! But, how? I thought it was an incurable sickness..."

Khel quickly stopped walking and turned to me with a very confused expression. Her confusion was truly understandable, but I was very certain that she, out of everyone else, should've known the answer.

I only folded my arms instead of answering, and I wore a questioning face as if asking 'Really?' to her. Khel quickly realized the meaning of that stare.

"... Saint Healer. Got it."

"Funny that you even ask, but thanks for worrying about me."

I said to her in case she felt any ill feelings, but Khel only laughed at that. I've learned my lesson to not ignore someone when they're worried about me, and I should cherish those kinds of people instead.

Right now, Khel is just like a younger sister to me. I have to keep her close.

After entering her room, she gave the usual nun clothes to me and patted me on the shoulder before leaving the room. She knew that I always appreciate the privacy when I'm changing, and she left the room to me.

I might need to finish today quickly. Because I have the annoying thing after the second bell, and I didn't want to do it with an empty stomach.

Now that I have Knight tier healing magic, I can do this much faster than before.

After changing, I headed out to meet the other nuns. They all offered me breakfast, like bread and tea. I simply asked for a coffee with sugar, and they made me one. I sat outside at the park with Khel and drank coffee.

While we waited for the people to come, Khel explained to me about her life besides the church. Sometimes, she went outside and lived as a normal girl. She goes to the park, reads in the library, and sometimes wanders in the shop.

I looked at her face and tried to guess her age. Somewhere around... two years younger than me?

I wonder if she went to any school at all. Schools here aren't as free as the ones in the other world. Only noble children get to have proper education, and most commoners did not have education until they are quite later in the age of seventeen or above.

And Khel cannot be compared to the usual commoner you'd find on the streets. She's an orphan who was taken care of by the church, so naturally simply being able to have a place to sleep here is already a wonderful thing to her.

After chatting with her, I've made a decision.

I'll find a way to get her educated. I'll help her change her life somehow. Of course, that's something for me to do later on, because I'm still struggling with my own life at the moment.

We also talked a little bit about my life as an adventurer, but that became the final topic of the day. The elder nun came to us and said it's going to start, and we both halted our conversation.

We head to the middle room for a briefing, and it seems like there are less people outside.

"There are over hundreds of people outside, waiting for us. A little less than last week because of the weather. Even though it was raining, it didn't stop them from coming, and it shouldn't stop us from healing."

The elder nun spoke to other nuns and priests. There are no guest healers, because they all went tired and sick again, thanks to me being unable to completely use my healing magic during the previous act.

They are all taking some time at home. Sweet. We don't need them, anyway.

"And I have good news. Rize has been completely healed from her incurable disease. So Rize, please assist us once more."

She nodded at me, and I just chuckled while waving my hand. Awkward, me.

The elder nun says some other stuff before going in, like reminders to not yell at the patients. Of course, that's something I will do no matter what, but she just reminded me anyway.

We all quickly head to our stations. The priest from before said some good luck to me because he is now handling his own station. And I went with Khel, as usual.

Our station is on the right side of the room, but I turned to the elder nun for a suggestion.

"Please make my position at the center."

I confidently say to the elder nun, and she only nodded at me firmly.

"Consider it done."

And so, the middle part of the church's grand hall was emptied. Every chair and table were moved to the left and right, leaving the middle part empty.

Only a pair of long chairs facing each other at the center. This will be the hot seat.

"Rize... are you sure you can handle it?"

After we sat down on the chair, Khel asked me with worry, and I just lifted my right hand up. I inserted a ton of magic onto my hand, and I revealed to her the truth regarding my healing magic.

A large golden bandage appeared from my palms, and it swirls around my hand in the air. The golden bandage bears a powerful pressure, and everyone who saw it realized exactly what the level of such healing magic truly was.

"The... Knight tier..."

Khel muttered after seeing it, but I only flicked my finger.

In an instant, tons of long golden bandages burst out of my hand. THey all flew to the ceilings above me, floating around as if they were covering the entire ceiling. All of them are still connected to my hand, which makes this whole scenery as if it was a golden tree.

"W-Woah..."

Khel muttered after seeing the golden sparkling lights slowly fall to the ground, and I only turned my confident gaze to the nun at the door.

Sorry for the long wait. I have made you all suffer because of my inability. But now, things will be different.

"Let's begin."

Very different.

Nothing like curing incurable diseases left and right. And with the Knight tier healing magic, she'll be able to heal even worse things.

But, is that truly enough?
