Chapter thirty three

" Afini( ijaw name. meaning 'the fire of God' and Akede( ijaw name. meaning 'received ' are back" Amanda hissed.

" this boys just carry trouble follow body come this house ( this boy just brought trouble to this house) " Anthony whispered. Afini and Akede are twin brothers, they are the last children in that family. They are eighteen years old, and they are Warri trouble makers.

They are just coming back from school, and they are already fighting their uncle, who started leaving in their house, after they had went to school. They like the Maxwell family, but to the children of the Maxwell family, it's the other way round. But they still act kind to them, so it won't look as if the boys like them but they don't like them back. Only Mr and Mrs Maxwell treats those boys with open heart in the street.

" wait o, you they call my brother cultist? ( wait, are you calling my brother a cultist?) " Akede yelled.

" Success( their uncle), you dey mad for calling me a cultist " Akini yelled.

" please stop, Akini, Akede, your mother is begging you o, at least drop the bottle " the mother begged as she was on her knees.

" mummy, you know we hate this man, but you still allowed him to come" Akini said pointing the broken bottle at Success.

" everybody hate the man even me" Amanda whispered.

" why do you guys hate him? " Samuel asked.

" you never hear wetin that man do? ( you haven't heard what that man did?) " Anthony whispered.

" no, what did he do? " Samuel asked confused.

" after they gave birth to Mercy ( their first child ), this their uncle tried to kill her. And even after mama Mercy ( Mercy's mom) got married, he tried to kill his won brother, so he will marry her" Anthony whispered.

" not only that, he's still the one that killed his brother after they had Akini and Akede " Amanda added.

" Jesus" Samuel called surprised.

" Christ " Anthony completed it.

" how did you know? " Samuel asked still surprise.

" that day you went out with to work. He came to beg. No be small beg o, he beg beg beg, and you know that mama Mercy is a kind woman, so she had forgiven him. But the three children did not forgive him " Amanda added.

" the man wicked, make there drive am commot the house ( the man is wicked, they should drive him out of the house " Samuel whispered.

" no mummy, this man should go" Mercy yelled.

" see, if this man doesn't leave this house, he will be my first victim o. And if they arrest me, I will ask why nobody got this man arrested after all he did " Akini yelled.

" oh, they did not arrest him, this woman is too good for my liking " Amanda whispered angrily.

" you guys should learn how to forgive and forget " their mom said as she cleaned her tears.

" mummy, this man is not even ashamed of himself, he called me a cultist. He tried to kill Mercy, when she was born" Akede said in so much rage. " mummy, you're so kind" he voice softened.

" Akede and I only felt Father's love for two years, how do you want us to be happy?, Mr Maxwell and his wife are always treating us like their children. We felt a Father's love from Mr Maxwell, and older brothers and little sister's love from Samuel, Anthony, Kelvin and Amanda. And that's why we will always make them happy " Akini said as tears flow down his eyes.

" so that is why they come to us alot, it's because the also want love from the family they never had" Amanda said in a sad tone.

" I hated them before, but now I'm gonna treat them like own brothers and sister" Anthony said in sad tone.

" yeah" was all Samuel could say.

Fabian had already reached warri, he decided to go home first, before he goes to see Amanda.

" I should call Amanda " Fabian picked his phone, but as he called Amanda's line, she didn't pick. He called again, but she still didn't pick.

" why isn't Amanda picking my call?, she always take her phone anywhere she goes " he thought to himself.

" unless she doing aproko " he said, but not surprised.

Amanda whole family likes aproko except her father. They always know what's happening in their area. If they are not at home, someone is still gonna tell them when they get back. And they always have each other's back.
