"I see, you are just like Father," Euclid froze on the spot hearing that.
"W-What do you mean?" His voice cracked and for good reason as well.
"Both of you can't understand the fact that you've been abandoned by the Lucifer bloodline, until you are on your last breath," Grayfia had talked to her father regarding this when they were at war.
But her father was as stubborn as ever, and he never listened to her even when it was obvious that the heir of the former Lucifer had no interest in the civil war.
He had just stepped back after sparking the conflicts and this implicated them, this was the reason that her father passed away, and only in his dying breath did he tell Grayfia to leave the Old Satan faction and search for her own happiness.
'But how could I have done that?' Grayfia was left alone, her father passed away, and her brother was presumed dead while her mother passed away way before them.
'And it was thanks Sirzechs that I was able to cut off the Old Satan faction,' Sirzechs had pushed her more to continue her life since her father left her with him, and he did well in that responsibility.
'I thank you for everything you've done to this point,' Grayfia was very grateful to him because if she hadn't continued like this, then she wouldn't be able to meet Adam, and find out that her brother was still alive.
And without that, she wouldn't be able to complete the promise she made to her father.
"I suppose it is time for your punishment," Grayfia took a step towards Euclid, "Don't think that I'll be easy on you just because you are my younger brother." hearing that cold tone made Euclid step back.
This was…
'Nee-sama…' Euclid felt that he could feel the image he had of the younger Grayfia, and the current one merge into one at this moment.
And it was true, the previous Grayfia Lucifuge, known as a terror in the Devil Civil War among the Anti-Satan Faction, was back to reprimand her brother for being disrespectful to her and not seeking her out before this.
'I'll leave them be for now,' Adam had left the space, and was currently outside of Nilrem's Headquarters.
"The fights between siblings are often extreme but this one is especially so," He laughed taking out a chair, "I also had siblings…." Adam sat on the chair and muttered, "…did we also fight?" of course, he had no recollection of that.
But he could conclude something because such a thing was very normal.
"We surely must've," Adam shook his head, then took out a book to read as he waited outside.
He knew he could be as relaxed as possible at this moment because, "No one is going to come here anyway,"
His eyes scanned the surroundings and that was enough for him to be reassured about his conjecture.
And he was correct even after a few hours had passed no one had approached them, and the reason for that was simple…
"Thank you for keeping them at bay Adam-sama," Grayfia walked out of the building, she was dragging the unconscious Euclid behind her with an ice-cold face.
'God damn,' Adam blinked looking at his state but he wasn't really bothered by it, what got him was how brutal Grayfia was with her younger brother, 'Well, you got what you wanted kid.'
"I didn't do anything," Adam just stored the book back into the storage space along with the chair after standing up.
"So, where will you be going now?" Adam asked and Grayfia's eyes widened slightly, but her face went back to normal in the next instant when she thought about who she was talking with.
"There is a place …I want to visit with my brother," Grayfia said and Adam nodded as if understanding her immediately.
"You can go ahead, I'll cover your tracks," Hearing his words Grayfia smiled slightly, she didn't even need to say anything to him and he already knew what she would do next.
"I will forever be in your debt," She bowed her head to express her gratitude, what she needed right now was some time, time to figure out what she would do next.
And she didn't want anyone to bother her for that duration, and the members of this organization may have been deterred at this moment thanks to Adam being there, but...
'They will follow me the moment I get away from him, especially that one…' But Grayfia knew that she couldn't trouble Adam any more than she had already done so, but, 'He is still willingly helping me if I ask him.' This is why many thoughts were going through her head, but her heart was heavy as well.
This is why, 'I need to deal with everything else first…' She looked at Adam keeping her face as calm as possible.
"Then, I hope to see you again Adam-sama," Grayfia left with those words and…
"She didn't even wait for my answer…" Adam sighed but, "I guess I'll complain the next time we meet," and then left with a smile after he was done hiding her traces.
Where was he going? Back to Rias of course, but he ended up arriving in the middle of…
"I swear on the name Gremory that I would never side with fallen angels!" Rias seemed to have gotten a little heated up thanks to the person she was talking to, but as soon as Adam arrived, he became the center of attention. Because he just popped out of nowhere with no magic circle or anything.
"Hmm, did I come back at the wrong time?" Adam asked seeing that all eyes were on him, he had interrupted an important meeting Rias was supposed to have with the church affiliates.
'It is a little late to be asking that….' Rias sighed as Issei was laughing.
"No, you came at the perfect time," Of course, Akeno didn't think like others, of course since Adam showed up things would get interesting.
A minute later, Adam was now sitting on the sofa beside Rias, Akeno who was in that position before, was standing right behind him alongside the rest of the peerage.
'So, they are the ones who were going to visit,' Adam thought looking at the two girls in front of him with little curiosity.
The cold-looking girl with chin-length blue hair was Xenovia Quarta.
And the cute-looking girl with long chestnut hair fashioned in pigtails was called Irina Shidou. They both came to Kuoh from overseas, and they specifically needed to meet Rias because of their mission in this city.
"You two hope to retrieve the swords on your own? That seems reckless…" Rias asked since this area was her territory, so if these get themselves killed on this mission she could be implicated as a result.
"Indeed we do," Irina nodded, her confidence showed clearly and she didn't seem to be joking around.
They were here to get the Excalibur swords that were stolen by a fallen angel, and if necessary destroy them before they are used for evil.
'And the church already thinks that there is a chance the devils and fallen angels are working together secretly, which is why she wants Rias and other Devils to be out of the way,' Adam understood the gist of it quickly, and he also understood why Rias was concerned about this.
"The church has determined that the Excalibur swords are better off destroyed than utilized by the Fallen Angels," Xenovia said.
"To that end, we volunteered for this mission. The only thing that can stand against an Excalibur is another Excalibur." Irina added to that.
'But the main problem is…' Adam didn't know what to say to this situation because, 'Why are two looking at me while you are talking to Rias?'
Both Xenovia and Irina had their eyes on him since he appeared, and they haven't looked away even while talking to Rias. But they had a reason to do that...
'Who is he?' Irina was more curious because, 'He is sitting next to the heir of the Gremory family, she is the Lucifer's little sister and even her Queen moved out of the way.' She could feel that something was going on here, but didn't know what it was. And she wanted to find out why that happened.
'That man…' Xenovia on the other hand had some trouble, 'He is surely a devil. I am certain of it…. the most terrifying one I have seen,' she felt her faith in god waning, and then being redirected to him somehow.
She didn't know why that happening but she couldn't find a way to stop it.
It was a weird feeling and she wanted to get her eyes off him, but it was hard for her to do that, and it was the same for Irina as well. It was just that she hadn't noticed it yet for a very simple reason.
"Will the two of you be enough to pull this off?"
