Duel (3): Calm down!

'Lucky?'

Draven suddenly guffawed while holding his stomach from the excessive laughter. He could not control himself from laughing at Isabella's comment. It was indeed true he was lucky to survive, but he knew for sure it was not due to luck. For if he had not a super human's physique, he could only wonder how luck could help him survive that deadly attack?

Isabella saw Draven was distracted as he laughed at her comment. She was offended as she quickly leaped while muttering something, causing her already reddened fist burst out with the intensity of heat.

"Soul Power, First stage, Second phase, burning fist."

The previous light read heat changed into a crimson intense burning fire, as Draven felt threatened by the attack. Draven's readied himself while thinking profusely as he felt the sense of time slowed them. His mind worked as though his mind was a machine moving beyond its limits.

Meanwhile, Draven thinks of how he should dwell against such a deadly attack coupled with enhanced speed and movements. The Ice Blue Flame inside him hummed in a frustrated manner. Although Draven was confused, he soon realized why the blue flame was calling him.

"I see. You are frustrated because Isabella dared to use such a common and degraded flame, don't you? Well, don't worry. Let's test out your power, then."

As though answering his question, the blue heat covered his palm completely covered his fist. The intensity of the blue flame was nothing to compare against the surging red flame, but Draven felt confident as he tried to meet the crimson fist against his light blue fist.

Isabella was startled at Draven's decision at first, but she immediately sneered, thinking of how foolish Draven was.

'How daring is he to use such a cute blue flame on me? Although Blue flame is stronger than red flame, it's common sense that my flame will devour that blue flame of his. Well, if he wanted to let his flesh burn that much, what am I to judge?' Isabella snickered in her heart.

Everyone held their breath as the referee, who watched from the side, was getting anxious about the consequence of their battle. It was obvious that Isabella and Draven put aside their defense while placing their innermost on their offense, not thinking of the aftereffects of their judgments.

As much as the referee wanted to interrupt their battle uncaring of getting the negative side of Isabella. He could not, for even he was helpless against such an attack. Although he thought he could stop Draven's attack, it was the opposite for Isabella. It was clear to him that if he decided to halt Isabella's attack, it was natural for him to get his flesh burned in the process.

No one thought of stopping them, as they anticipated the outcome of the battle. Meanwhile, Draven was trembling from the excitement as he exclaimed his thoughts.

'Let's go, little flame! Let this woman know the true power of your flame!'

Draven could feel the excitement from the blue flame, as he could feel that even his flesh was getting burned by each second. It's natural, after all, since his physical body does not have resistance to receive the heat of the blue flame. Isabella had the passive of the first phase, which was the Heat body, causing her not to get burned by her own Soul Power.

However, despite Draven having a superhuman physique, it did not mean he would get out unscathed from the power of the blue flame. However, he felt he could take the flame from Isabella's Soul power. This shows how destructive and intense the blue flame was compared to Isabella's flame.

The blue fist and the crimson fist collided with each other, while a sudden shout of cry bellowed not long after a second passed. Everyone's eyes widened while their mouth turned agape as they could not control themselves and trembled in fear. After all, Isabella's crimson flame devoured after not a second of contact with the blue flame.

Draven sneered at his heart while he gritted his teeth as he suffered in agony because the skin and veins on his fist getting burned by the sudden increase of heat intensity. The crimson flame from Isabella helped the blue flame rage with intense flame as though indistinct skulls raged out of the flame.

It was frightening, as it was evident from the faces of everyone who saw the scene. Meanwhile, Isabella grabbed the wrist on her arm as her fist scorched from the blue flame. She was feeling drowsy while trying to calm her dizzy mind. However, her mental health greatly suffered from the massive torment, so she fainted on the ground, landing with a thud!

The blood that was supposed to gush out of her wrist had long been stopped since her flesh was burned enough to stop the blood from leaking. It was an unsightly scene seeing a beautiful girl with a disheveled appearance and a painful expression lying on the ground with her fist long gone.

Her fist was unrecognizable and unsightly, and the girls at the side, who landed their gazes, almost threw up from the disgusting sight of her fist.

"Oh my God!"

One of them exclaimed as they turned their heads and wondered what made him utter an astonishing word. They landed their gazed and what they saw made their eyes and mouth gape in astonishment. They saw Draven trying to control his hand by holding its wrist with his other hand. Draven's hand was completely gone while the bone was exposed, his finger bone jiggled.

It was impossible for the bone to move without its muscles and veins, but they completely saw Draven's bone finger move as though it was still in control. However, they could not be convinced as the raging blue flame distracted them. Draven was muttering something they could not hear but from the clear indication of his facial expression. It was as though he was trying to communicate on his blue flame.

While they wondered if Draven's sanity was gone, Draven was currently muttering to his hand or precisely, the raging blue flame in front of him.

"Blue flame, calm down! Our opponent was already defeated! Don't make things complicated for me!"

He was trying to convince the ice blue flame, but the blue flame was, as though, turned berserk while trying to burn every living and non-living thing uncaring of its friend and foe. Draven became worried while using every word to calm the blue flame. It did not long before he mentioned something, causing the blue flame to halt its wiggling blue tails.

"If they knew that I became undead due to my moving skeletal fingers, who knows if I will still be alive in a couple of days. So calm down already!"

Draven's tone was already getting riled up, and the blue flame finally calmed down. Draven scolded the blue flame with his thoughts, and he knew as he felt the blue flame was feeling guilty for what had happened.

'I will ask him why he turned like that later. But now…' Draven swept his head and saw a lot of gazes, which contained shock, fear, and astonishment at what had happened. He smiled at them as he said in a loud voice.

"Everyone. I know it's already late to introduce myself. I'm Draven who recently awakened his Path and now challenged the currently, or I should be supposed to say, previously Rank 1 Isabella in combat. I now humbly declared Rank 1, both in theory and combat classes, as I welcomed all the challenges of battling my position."

He smiled at them while he giggled mischievously.

"That is if you are all interested in challenging my position."

He took out a towel from his pocket while he covered it with his skeletal hand. He tried so hard not to let his mind move his skeletal finger as it would only implicate their suspicions about his bizarre physique. He walked out of the platform, uncaring to the myriads of gazes with different reactions, watching him leave out of the arena.

They knew that this day, this hour, this minute, and this moment. They witnessed the birth of a monster, which would soon make his new era and make a mess in the current age, as he would leave his name behind in history.
