A single draw

Night arrived as the chilling breeze entered Draven's broken window, causing the apartment as cold as the lowest degree level in air-conditioned. Selena was the only one inside, as the moment the moon came out of the abode. She did not hesitate to hop up from the sofa as she came nearer to the window, causing the moonlight to shine on her.

She was already beautiful in the dark, but once the moonlight revealed her figure. She was so beautiful than any other mortal that existed. She was untainted, flawless, and alluring and had a perfect body outline. Her glamorous, milky white skin was revealed by her dress which was dazzlingly suited for her.

In addition, her goddess dress stuck to her skin, causing her enticing body to become more enticing and appealing. Currently, the Goddess, Selena, was having a peaceful, gentle expression, as though nothing in the world that could disturb her. However, the moment was interrupted once Draven entered the apartment.

Draven spent hours getting back home. Although he could have only spent three hours, he decided to improve his communication ability to understand a few of the little blue flame's intentions. After all, he could only cure his skeletal hand back to normal once the moon revealed itself. Hence, he decided to spend time communicating with the Ice Blue Flame.

In the end, he could only understand the little blue flame if he understood his intentions. For an instance, the little blue flame shows anger and frustrations similar to those expressed earlier in the battle, which means there might have been something that made him feel that way. In the end, Draven still had a hard time understanding the little blue flame, so he could only get back home while grumbling in annoyance.

"Oh? Selena, you are already cultivating? I wonder how you will fare if we battle?"

Draven licked his lips as though he was becoming a maniac for battle. He defeated Isabella, which was already crowned number 1 in combat in the school. Although he knew himself, if Isabella did not take him too lightly, the battle might have had a different outcome.

His thoughts revolved around Selena's rebirth, which means she became mortal once again. However, Draven knew Selena still had the power which might surpass Isabella's strength. Hence without thinking further, he challenged Selena to a battle.

"…"

Selena did not reply, but her frown shows a clear indication she was annoyed.

"Don't be like that. It was my bad, okay? I only wanted to know the disparity between our strengths."

Draven acted as though he was disappointed that he did not get what he desired. However, he was startled and astonished when Selena replied to him with action.

"Okay, received this, then."

A crescent, milky beam flew through Draven with an astonishing speed. Draven failed to react since he was not born to fight, and the speed of Selena's attack was obviously faster than his body's instinctual reaction. Draven received the attack on his chest, but it appeared the crescent beam was not sharp since it was still forcing him to move backward.

Draven's mind stopped working while he watched Selena's left return to its previous position as though nothing happened. Before long, Draven realized he was floating in mid-air as it continued since the crescent beam did not dissipate yet. Draven's distance from his apartment grew longer to the point he landed on the ground while stumbling afterward.

When Draven stumbled to the ground, the crescent beam proceeded and continued flying over the distance. Draven's stumbling halted while the crescent beam collided with a broken, uneven house made of bricks, as it immediately disintegrated when it received the crescent beam. Draven immediately sat, having a dumbstruck and awe expression on his face.

He gazed over the distance, where a single condominium stood amidst the inhabitable place, while it looked like a stick in Draven's perspective. However, Draven's eyesight was superhuman. Thus it immediately zoomed in and watched Selena continue to proceed with the cultivation of her breathing technique.

"Was she that strong?"

Draven wondered while he sat up and patted the dust off his uniform. However, it was only now he realized his uniform got destroyed due to Selena's attack. In addition, flesh and organs were visible on his front body. While Draven was greatly astonished again when he could receive a supposed enormous amount of pain without even knowing he should suffer from the grim, unbearable pain.

"Tsk! This uniform is really costly! It took my month's worth of money I received from the school, yet it disintegrated in a single moment?"

Draven usually received the money in high school for being a scholar and always academically impressive. Hence, he could not help but complain about getting his uniform ripped. Although his uniform was provided by the principal, it made him feel hurt thinking of the expensive uniform became worthless due to his carelessness.

After dozens of minutes, Draven decided to take his step and heal his body while cultivating in his apartment. However, he realized his body might get too much attention once his neighborhood spotted him. The liver, the intestine, and other organs on his stomach part were conspicuous and disgusting to watch.

"The moonlight could reach here anyway and there is not a single person I spotted. I should cultivate here, then."

Draven decided as he positioned his body in a lotus form. Now, it took quite a lot of time, as five hours passed, and his body was now completely healed. The moon already hung in the middle indicating that it was now in the middle of the night, which was twelve a.m.

"It's already the third day since I got awakened, right? Then at any time, the Path will purposely take my soul!" Draven's eyes widened. "I should go back now, then! Who knows if my body will be safe here once my physical body is left unguarded?"

Draven immediately positioned himself as though he was in a race, and sprinted through the condominium. It did not long before he was back, and without wasting a lot of time and with no hesitation he disturbed Selena.

Selena sensed his haste, and even though annoyed, she decided to know the reason for Draven's panicked behavior. She glared at him hatefully while Draven immediately opened his mouth and explained.

"Selena. My soul will be taken at any minute by the Path. My first trial should happen at any time right now. I only wanted you to guard my physical body. You can even continue meditating since I'm assured my body will be safe with you!"

Selena was startled when she heard the Path as she wondered what that existence was. However, when she heard Draven's soul could be taken at any moment, she was astonished and even doubted if Draven's spouting nonsense or if her ears might have gotten sick.

Selena was at a loss for words, and she watched Draven's eyes slowly close while falling to the ground, lifeless. It was as though he was dead since even his heartbeat and his breathing stopped. Selena was dumbstruck and did not immediately return to meditate.

After all, one needs to have a clear mind while being untainted with overthinking and negative thoughts. However, how could Selena immerse herself in meditation, much less try to start it, when her mind was in a complete mess?

Draven's single request caused her to be confused.

"This guy's soul is really gone. He should be dead now! What is he thinking about protecting his physical body? His body will naturally reduce into ashes! What the heck? I don't understand what is going on!"

Selena kicked Draven's body lightly, but Draven did not respond as its body position changed lightly from Selena's action.
