CHAPTER SEVEN

It's been a month since Ardi and Naomi became friends. She goes out and comes back last at night and her family don't seem to be worried about that as long as she looked happy. Mum I'm off. She shouted running to the door. Stop right there young lady. Her mother called smiling. Where are you off to? She asked. Where else do you think I was going? She asks her mum back. You little brat. She slapped her daughter playfully. You're trying to act smart with me. She stated as naomi chuckled. I learnt from the best. Naomi said teasingly. Is that so? Come-on don't change the topic. She said placing her hand on her waist. Spit it out young lady. She ordered. Let her be Cynthia. You worry too much. Melody said. Why won't I worry? She asked. You don't need to be worried mum. Naomi said. You be quiet. When you become a mother, you'll understand. Her mum reprimanded. Ok then. I'll tell Steven that he should come back later. Melody said as Cynthia turned to her and then back to naomi. I'm ok mum. You just go. Naomi assured her mum. We'll talk later. Her mum said before she left. Naomi looked at her aunt who shrugged her shoulder. She's just being worried about you. Now get outta here. She ordered as naomi left.

******************************************************Naomi arrived at the park to see ardi already waiting for her. They made the park their usual spot. I don't know why you won't show me your house. She said coming out of her car. I read your message which said meet me at our usual spot. Isn't it too early to be leaving your house? He said checking his watch. I mean don't you have chores to do? He asked. You're doing that again. She complained as he turned to her. Doing what? He asked. Changing the topic. Everytime I talk about visiting your house, you always change the topic. She exclaimed. If you had come here to argue, you should have stayed at home. Don't ruin my morning. He said. So now what? You're saying I'm a troublemaker. She said slightly raising her voice as her stomach rumbled. She became shy all of a sudden because of the way ardi was looking at her. You didn't eat before you left the house? He asked as she looked down muttering "I wanted us to have breakfast together". Women are so complicated. He muttered. Excuse me! She exclaimed feeling offended. You're excused. He said leaving her. Where are you going? She asked. I thought you wanted breakfast together? He said sarcastically. Come on princess. You need to eat. He said leaving. I don't know why I waste my time with a fool like him. She hugged as she followed him.

******************************************************Starbucks! She exclaimed. What! You don't like it? He asked. Who doesn't like Starbucks. She said as he rolled his eyes. I just didn't think there was Starbucks in this side of new Jersey. She commented. Starbucks is everywhere. He said as they entered inside. Let's take table 14. It's near the glass window. We can see people walking. She said sitting down as he joined her. What would you like sir, ma'am. A barista at Starbucks asked. Good morning. Can I see you're menu? Naomi asked as the barista handed her the menu. Ok… she exclaimed dragging the ok as ardi just stared at her. Everything here just looks delicious. She gushed as she looked up at the barista smiling. I want a burger, butter croissants, bagel, double chocolate chunk brownie, toffeesoodle cookie. She kept on listing as ardi's eyes were wide from shock as his mouth were left hanging. Close your mouth pretty boy. She said as he rolled his eyes then scoffed. Can you finish all that? He asked. You don' know me. She then turned to the barista who stood there speechless. Then get me a mango dragon drink lemonade to go with it. Thanks. She said smiling as she handed the menu to her. What would you like sir? She asked turning to Ardi. I'll just take iced coffee. He said as she wrote it down. I'm not allowing that. Naomi boomed as she looked up at the barista. Just get him an iced lemon pound cake with a milkshake. She said as she eyed ardi. This grumpy man doesn't know what he wants. She said as the barista chuckled and left. Who's grumpy? He asked. You don't know the answer or you want me to answer it for you? She said as he sighed. So tell me about yourself Mr. Wilson. She said. There's nothing to know about me. He responded. It's ok if you don't want to tell me but I'll find out in my own way. Naomi said. I'll like to see what you'll find. He remarked as their Foo came. Here's your order. Please enjoy. She said as she dropped their food. Smells delicious. Naomi said sniffing the air. Thank you. The barista said as ardi nodded his head in appreciation as she left. Are you sure you can finish all that? Ardi asked again. Why don't you get to know me Mr. Wilson. Naomi said. I'm open for that Miss whitmoore. He said smiling as they began to eat.

******************************************************After they were done eating, Naomi ordered ice coffee for both of them along side a croissant. You sure do have an appetite. Ardi said as naomi smiled. Of course I do. I'm not just allowed to eat this at home. She lamented. Rich person! Ardi said. I just don't know why they all condemn this delicious treats for those rubbish they eat. He added. We just want to keep fit. That's all. She defended. Watching your weight and all that. He said rolling his eyes as he pointed at her. I don't think it works for you. You're fat. He said as she exclaimed placing her hand on her chest. You did not just say that. She gasped. Drama queen. Ardi commented as they laughed.
