Chapter 12: Lover's Quarrel: Part 2

Wexford Greige's Point of View

Waiting for Harold as he invited me to drink. I couldn't forget about Athena, walking away from the restaurant where we had eaten earlier. There is a part of my heart that wants to approach her, hugging and kissing her, but there is something that will stop myself from doing that. It hurts me that I couldn't forget the good memories with Thena. It pushed myself to talk and win her favor again.

I was in a trance when my cousin Harold called me. We're going to a club to have some drinks because tomorrow is Saturday and there will be no work. It's not an upset to wake up very late. It could be a way to forget the problem, even just for tonight.

"Take it easy, bro. You might get drunk on that might be hard for us to take you home." Harold reminded me, but I didn't listen to him and just kept drinking.

I smirked at him in response. "We're not here to get drunk, bro; we're here to unwind, if only for a little while, from work."He explained, but I ignored him again.

"It's OK, bro. Don't worry, I can do it." as my very confident answer to Harold.

**Althaea Cassidy's POV**

I suddenly woke up from my two hours of sleep. I got up first and left the room to go to the kitchen and get some water. Afterwards, I went back to my room and noticed the cellphone on the pillow.

I opened it and tried to call Greige. Then the phone rang and was answered, but my mood changed when the woman herself answered.

"Hello..." I did not reply to what she had to say because I already took down my phone immediately.

In the morning.

I woke up from the sunlight hitting my eyes, and I did nothing but get up. I stretched my arms and legs first, then left the room temporarily. After eating breakfast, I thought about Thena’s room for a moment. Later, I decided to walk around the hacienda.

I have also got consent from my parents to my decision to stay here for a while and take a vacation, even for a short time. Because I’ve been preoccupied with a lot of things that are really free apart from the city.

I didn't realize that a few days had passed because I was too busy taking care of the farm. However, when the evening came, I still waited for Greige to text me, but I didn't receive anything.

It just means one thing: she doesn't care about me anymore. He had completely forgotten about me by this point. I already arrived to my home.

I just slept for a few minutes before taking a shower and getting dressed. I was strolling around the mall when I was suddenly covered in eyes by someone.

As far as I knew, it was a man. I tried to remove his hand from my eye when he had spoken.

"Hi, wifey." I know that voice, and he's the one who can only call me that. Zen, is that you?

Until he faced me with a smile that made me hug him tightly and I slapped him on his shoulder.

Zen didn't tell him that he would go here to Bicol. He knew I was pretending to be my sister. What will others say if there is someone who might witness us? I am such a two-timer girl.

"What are you doing here?" I opened my question to him with a sermon.

"Of course to see you because I already missed you, wifey." He simultaneously squeezed my left cheek.

This is what I missed from him: being sweet and a little bit naughty. So I just pouted as a response to his behavior.

"You're really cute." He commented further. Then we decided to walk around until I remembered something to buy, so I took him there too.

**Wexford Greige's POV**

I was also walking in the mall when I saw Athena with another guy, and that made me cringe. We haven’t broken up yet. We were just cooling off, but she really proved to me that she was already flirting with someone.

They're sweet like the way Thena smiles at that guy, which I never saw her do after I came back from the U.S. I ran fast until I approached the two of them, and they were both surprised.

"Greige!" Thena's shocked reaction when she saw me was unexpected. The guy also leaned towards me.

"Is he the one who replaced me?" I said with annoyance, so we got other people's attention. She was speechless.

But the man beside her who responded What are you talking about, dude? We're just friends with... your girlfriend. " He interrupted for a second, but smirked at last.

"What's wrong with you, Greige? Did you already abandon me, right? Why are you still mad at us? " She even managed to annoy me.

I pulled her away from that man, but she drastically threw my hand out of her arm.

"Let me go, Greige." She looked different right now, and her smile faded. She was cold enough that I could not see any emotions in her.

"Is this what you want, isn't it? To stay away from you, even if it's very unreasonable for me. " Athena said that the coldness in her aura reflected something never seen before.

"Can you please stop this now? I'll go away by myself as you wished. " Finally, she walked away from me while she drew near to the man that made herself still unsettled in my position.

I went to Harold's house to invite him to drink again, and he was surprised. He did not expect me to come here and bring this wine. I want to get drunk. I want to forget all this. Shikes! *

The pain he ignored me and the way he entertained that man.

It's too much, dude. It's not good anymore! " Harold commented.

I just want to drown in alcohol. I just want to get rid of all my feelings and forget all about her.

Is that your problem again with your girlfriend? Then alcohol isn't the best solution, either. I didn't listen to him and directly arranged for these wines I bought.

"I thought this would be the solution to forget about her because I'm hurting."

Aren't you the one who drove her away, right? Naturally, the girl was also hurt. " He explained, and I just let him speak as I sipped the wine.

"She cheated on me, dude, so I did that to her." I said, then I sipped the remaining wine in my glass again.

"How do you say so? It's bad to blame someone unless you have evidence to prove that she is cheating. It's really worse to overthink it, and it won't help you both. "

"Yes, but I saw her with another guy and they were sweet to each other too."

Oh, it's like that? But that didn't mean what it was. Maybe they're just friends and you're just confused too! " He looked disgusted with me.

"Because you assumed and judged her right away." I think it's better for you to go to sleep and take a rest. You're drunk. " Harold stated, then he put away the wines I had bought earlier.

You haven't experienced love yet, so it's easy for you to say that. Then he starts to keep the empty bottles of wine away.

I'm just giving you good advice, dude, so just calm down, ok? It's not the end of the world. " Harold put some other filled wines I bought in the same container. He took it away from me.

You're really drunk, Greige. It's not right to drink a lot of wine because it doesn't help your problem with your girlfriend. Why don't you try to talk to her? Maybe I will understand the both of you. " He confronted me again with Athena.

What if she doesn't want it anymore? What if we meet and end up with just us? Yes, I avoided her, but that doesn't mean I don't love her and I let her go now to someone else.

I wiped the tears from the corners of my eyes and tried to stand up again. I will talk to my girlfriend. I'm melting when I see her smile. I feel more guilty when I hurt Athena like this. I was damn crazy when I did not touch her or talk to her. I'm just hurting and hurting myself again because of what I did to her.

I heavily sighed for a few minutes and adjusted myself. "Where are you going?" Harold asked me a surprise. "I am going home now. I want to fix myself so I can meet her. "while still fixing my polo button.

"No. You're still drunk, man. Why don't you just stay here in the condo and take a nap to get rid of your tipsyness? " He was holding me back, so I stopped what I was doing. I have recently sat down on the sofa again.

"All right, dude. I'll go to my room to look for something. Don't leave. " As he reminded me, I quickly sat down after him. I laid down and closed my eyes until I realized I had fallen asleep.

I woke up at four o'clock and noticed I had also slept four hours. I easily got up and went to Harold's small dining area, where I saw he was already eating a snack. I brewed coffee and grabbed a loaf of freshly warmed bread from the oven toaster.

"Are you already OK, dude?" He asked after I sipped my coffee.

"It's still a bit of a headache." I answered, and he handed me some medicine.

"Drink that after you eat a snack." I was thankful after taking the medicine.

"When are you going to now? Talk to her? " He asked me again. I am so glad that I have a cousin like Harold whom I can approach in times of trouble. Since childhood, we have really gotten along with each other compared to my other cousins.

"Tonight?" I wasn't sure of the answer, which made me shaken as well. I don't know what will happen.

If we can still go back, we won't be in this situation.No matter how I try, I will still fight for her and secure her.

I thought about going home, so I already bid goodbye to Harold, and he just nodded.

While I was driving, I decided to buy medicine kits for home, so I immediately stopped at a place where other cars were also parked, and then I walked to the drugstore. After a few minutes, I came out carrying what I had bought. As I am moving, there's something that caught my attention about the crowd, and I don't have any idea what's happening. Out of curiosity, my feet and legs suddenly pushed me to go there. I continuously proceeded to the place where a group of people gathered until I heard a voice that sounded familiar to me.
