Chapter 10: Fifth Legacy Quest

As I approach the last pedestal I notice it's peculiarity. It is made of an ebony bone material with red swirls circling clockwise and blue swirls circling counter clockwise. I step in front of the pedestal and notice that it has a depiction of a red western dragon on the right and a blue eastern dragon on the left fighting each other.

I think to myself, 'The two dragon gods known for fighting each other as rivals. They have fought for countless centuries and will continue to do so.'

Before I can say anything a blue and red portal appears under me and I fall into a void. I twist and turn for a while before flames of bred and blue erupt around me. I turn around to see two insanely large dragons behind me.

I greet them with a bow saying, "It is an honor to meet you Draig and Albion."

Ddraig is a dragon with the appearance of a large red Western Dragon, with a long neck and green eyes. He also has red and golden spikes throughout his body. Where as Albion is the complete opposite. Albion is an enormous white western dragon described as having a beautiful pure white body, he has blue eyes, two golden horns, and unlike most western dragons, he has feathered wings.

Draig being the more friendly of the two says, "Welcome young dragon welp."

I look at him questioningly, and before I can ask why he called me that Albion says, "All you have to do is answer one question of ours with complete honesty and correctness. Which of us is the strongest? If you do not answer correctly there will be dire consequences."

Complete conditions:

-Answer the question correctly

-Answer the question with honesty

Reward:

-stat points(+10 all stats)

-Mark of Draig and Albion

Fail conditions

-Answer dishonestly

-Answer incorrectly

-possible death

-Legacy weapons locked forever

Extra reward conditions:

-Don't anger the two dragons

-Talent cigars(Infinite)

I ponder for a moment and recall every bit of information I have on the two dragons in front of me.

I look towards Draig first and say, "In the past, were a fearsome Dragon known to have powerful flames that could incinerate anything, including Gods, and will never go out until they burn the opponent to ashes. You eventually met Albion, who was immune to your flames. Happy to meet someone who can rival you, you decided to seal your flames and start to compete with Albion to improve yourselves, developing techniques such as Boost and Penetrate, ending with both of you eventually becoming famous as the Two Heavenly Dragons. During your many battles to improve yourselves, you both rampaged in the Realm of the Dead. You also fought against Grendel and Níðhöggr at an undisclosed time in the past."

I then turn towards Albion and continue, "Being known as Gwiber at the time, you were similarly an invincible Dragon and were also notably feared. The cause of this fear was your venomous ability which can even kill Gods easily, and due to this fearful power, you were always lonely and resented using it. Although being overwhelmingly powerful, you were depressed due to having no equal to stand up against you until you met your arch-rival: the Welsh Dragon Ddraig, a being who was immune to your venom. Excited at the fact that there was an entity that could rival your power, you sealed your poison and soon resorted to becoming stronger through your rival, eventually developing techniques such as Divide and Reflect."

I then say to both of them, "So to answer your question you are both equally as strong as the other. Draig can boost infinitely and Albion can divide that power in half and keep one half for himself. Your powers both compliment and counter each other. Hence, you are equals."

They pause for a moment before Draig erupts into laughter.

Draig laughs saying, "The dragon well is right! We are perfect counters for each other!"

Albion nods and says, "Yes. It would seem that we are in fact perfect counters to the other. Very well. You have answered our question truthfully and honestly."

When they finish speaking the system notifies me of the quest being completed.

They then both spread their wings and say in unison, ""Now begone!""

Flapping their wings, they push me out of the void like area and I am sent barreling across the field into the middle of the five pedestals.

After getting my bearings back I feel a slight burning sensation on my back and the emblem on the podium is etched onto my back. When it finishes I hear Tyr walking towards me.

He says with an evil smile, "Congrats on finishing my quest. Hope it wasn't too hard."

Noticing his smile I become weary. After a few seconds of waiting the system gives me another quest completion message.

[Quest "Battle Of Ragnarök"(Complete)]

Quest details:(Complete the legacy challenges and survive. Time will stop in the outside world. One legendary weapon will be unlocked for every challenge you have completed.

Tyr then says, "You have completed my quest. Now I think it's time to send you back to that cozy bed of yours."

When he finishes his sentence a rainbow portal appears behind me and before I can turn I am Sparta kicked, once again, into the portal sending me barreling out of control. Before the portal closes I catch a glimpse of Tyr waving his good hand at me and I scream profanities at him.

At the top of my lungs, right before it closes, I yell, "Mother Fu-"
