Max dropped Laurene off as planned, and we left Eli behind at the house. Sean followed me to the private club, a quiet, dimly lit place we often used for meetings when things needed to be handled discreetly. We took a seat at a secluded table, and I leaned forward, explaining everything that had happened since Gregory's death.
Sean's brow furrowed when I mentioned Ross Erik. "Wait," he said, his voice low but sharp, "Gregory was with Ross?"
I nodded, watching the wheels turn in his mind.
Sean rubbed his chin. "If Ross was with Gregory, then he had to be a mole. There is no other explanation. Why else would he be involved with someone like Gregory, especially when things were falling apart?"
He was right. It did not sit well with me either, but I pushed that thought aside for now. "We'll deal with that later. We've got bigger problems to focus on."
