For The Future

When she was done, the poison was dispelled from the body and the flow of blood had trickled then clogged at the fingertips. With this, she noticed that the man was so relieved to the point that he had finally passed out. Lotus checked his meridians one more time before handing Zhang Li a piece of paper, "Take these papers. He needs medication twice a day here. When you're done, Xiao Li will take him out of the spatial ring."

"Xiao Li?" Zhang Li looked to her in confusion.

Lotus summoned Xiao Li into the room surprising the other woman.

"Yes, Lotus?" Xiao Li responded curiously wondering why he was suddenly allowed entry into this room.

"Zhang Li, this is Xiao Li." Lotus explained, "He is the spirit of this spatial ring and takes care of the spatial ring while I'm away. Currently, there's still too much clutter in the mansion at the moment, so you will have to wait till we are done organizing. I'll leave Huo Wei with you for now. Come. I'll explain other stuff with you outside."

Hearing this, Zhang Li quickly grew more and more excited! Didn't this mean that they finally have their master's trust to be told something this good that no one else knows about?! Learning that she was given her young master's trust motivated her to want to do more for her and stay by her side!

Seeing the smile on her face, Lotus could guess what she was thinking, but she didn't say anything. Praising her would make her too over-confident even if she was not as simple minded as her twin brother. In the end, it was better not to say anything and keep a neutral tone.

Once out, she explained firmly, "You do not need to worry about whether we can trust Huo Wei or not."

She quickly went over what occurred back in the Scarabia Dorm. When Zhang Li learned of the vow he made, she was shocked!

A vow under the heavens was already very strict with promises made by their name. Even a single act of breaking it can make tribulation clouds rain lightning on those people till they die! Moreover, once made, those vows could not be retracted nor cancelled even if there was a second party that wanted to help them to do so! There was simply no way of escaping from the punishment, yet, at the same time, it can also help display one's resolve and sincerity because no lies can be made in a vow!

Hearing everything, Zhang Li understood the severity of the situation. The fact that Huo Wei would still return to his team members only means that he was willing to serve under their young master as his spy. With the vow, he will not end up betraying them or allow them to suffer with his powers. There was no need to worry about him becoming a double agent, either. Yet, Zhang Li felt that, even if he was a double agent, it wouldn't hinder her young master in the least. With her kindness and sincerity, there was also a firm grasp on reality and very cautious attitude towards her social position and her abilities.

From learning that she was a reincarnated being to her treasures that she still retained from her family, Zhang Li knew that it was very difficult to gain acceptance and trust of their new young master, yet, she still shared these thing with her meaning that she has come to trust her very deeply. Knowing this, Zhang Li was even willing to even lay down her life to serve Lotus if she have to!

Lotus handed her a book on cultivation, "I've seen how you cultivate and believe that this is the best form of cultivation for you. Since you are capable of manipulating fire, I'll hand this technique to you. I've already tried to see if I can use it. "All right, all right." Lotus sighed in disappointment having seen that it was really just wishful thinking hoping that she could avoid her from seeing the cockatrice symbol on the book, "It's a book from the Hui family. However, I've already inherited my family's belongings, so what I do with it shouldn't be of anybody else's concerns. If someone dares to question you for using this, just tell them that I was the one who gave you permission and to have them come look for me instead. Later, I'll hand your brother one as well. Since he's so well versed with martial arts, I've found one that utilizes the massive strength he wields."

Hearing these words, Zhang Li was stupified, yet she was also touched. Books that bore the markings of the cockatrice and basilisks are a part of the collections kept in the Hui Clan's private libraries. According to her father, not even the servants were allowed to enter those libraries, much less read those books. During the time her father served under the old patriarch, he was offered to learn from one of those books by the old patriarch.

However, he didn't dare to fearing that one of the Hui family members would secretly come for his life if they learned of this. At the time, both were young and the old patriarch had yet to understand the limitations of the servants' freedom in the clan. When both grew older, this reason become one of the motivations that pushed him to urge for separation from the family clan. However, at that point, her father was too busy handling many movements the old patriach and the late master led to change the new Hui family. So, he was never able to get another change to look into the books that the Hui family brought with them from the secret libraries.

Seeing the book now in her hands, she couldn't help but feel touched as she recalled the regrets her father when he passed. With this, she and her brother can now put those regrets of their parents to rest!

First, the young master helped cover for her and now she was also helping her fulfill this wish of hers! It's fine if the young miss doesn't want to tell her everything. Just the fact that she was doing this much for her was already enough! Now, she can see why Huo Wei was so willing to make that vow. She was indeed very kind and intelligent! If Lotus didn't express her worries and disatisfaction with the vows, she would've already vowed to her right here as well!

However, all she managed to do was bow her head deeply and thank the young miss. Lotus continued, "There's no need to be like this over a book, Zhang Li. If you really want to repay me, you can in the future. I've already told you this before, but I will need to rely on you and your brother one day in the future. Cultivation is not without its downside. A price must always be paid for each step. If I'm ever in a vulnerable position, I can only rely on you and your brother when that time comes. "Yes, Lotus."

Lotus then instructed her a few things to do around the mansion and let her choose a place for her to stay. There wasn't much of a difference since every room was pretty much the same. She then told her, "If you need something, Xiao Li can help you. The spatial ring is big, so only he knows the full extent of it. Aside from humans and spirits, there are few other spirit beasts in this spatial ring. Only two of them are contracted to me. The others are guests. One of the spirit beasts are still in their toddler stage and can be quite mischevious. I'm telling you this now since he has the tendency to let his curiosity lead him by the nose very often."

Zhang Li quickly understand what she was saying. Since the child had this much curiosity, it was a no brainer that this kid would come to check her out as she was a newcomer in this spatial ring and probably one of the few humans her miss had brought in.

"Everyone here takes care of him, so you may find them if he goes over the line. He's already getting to the point that even physical strength is too difficult to restrain his playfulness." Lotus sighed in dismay, "It was only a few months ago since he was born too. the kid really grows too fast. Anyway, so how do you plan to make things up with Sebek? I know you don't like him, but I can't deny that this time you pretty much crossed the line."
