We Are One

' Darkness.'

She suddenly woke up , and that was her first thought.

' Where am I ?'

She tried to move, only to realize that her body was transparent. She couldn't properly feel things by touch. Although she was walking, in reality she was floating.

' Wait, I can't think!'

' Why ? Why can't I remember anything?!!! Why am I here?!'

She searched her head and mind for answers, but couldn't get anything.

As she looked around the darkness, a flicker of light appeared. She stood up and walked….. floated towards it.

The light was coming from a person.

' Who…are you? And…where is this place?' She asked, but she didn't hear her voice.

That's when it dawned on her that she could only speak in her mind. She was about to move forward when the person turned around.

It was a beautiful young girl in white, who looked like Someone she knew, but her memory was clogged. The girl had silky blue waist length hair, leafy green eyes, and a beautiful smile.

' I….am you. And you are me. This is our state of consciousness.'

She looked around, and with the light coming off her body…she could see that they were standing on the surface of a vast ocean.

' You….are me ? That's…Then who am I ? Why can't I remember anything?!'

' We have been sleeping for a long time. It's high time we woke up. Remember….. You and I are one. You are Bai Fengxi. ' The young girl faded away. She moved forward to hold her , but she was already gone.

' I am Bai Fengxi…? ' Immediately she said it in her mind, the water under her feet opened up and pulled her in.

She desperately tried to swim up , but to no avail. She was drowning, and she knew that no one was coming to her rescue. The feeling of helplessness was evident in her actions.

Seeing that she couldn't swim up, she stopped trying. She continued sinking down the ocean. Somehow the feeling of helplessness dissipated, and she felt comfort from it. Soon, sleepiness sets in , and she embraced it. Her body sank down, and hit the bedrock of the ocean, but she didn't realize. She was sleeping deeply.

" Dear, remember do not make a sound. Mom loves you, Okay?" A woman wearing a white lab coat helped a young girl into a transparent glass box. The girl looked exactly like the woman. Moon-shadow black hair, ink black eyes, and skin as smooth as porcelain. She had a pair of gold rimmed spectacles on.

" Dear, escape from here after they have left. Remember do not make a sound, Okay? We love you. " A handsome man in a white lab coat standing beside the woman said to the little girl.

" Yes, father." The girl replied, teary eyed. The man stroked her head and smiled. She returned the smile, but the pain she was feeling was apparent.

The woman bent down to her height, and kissed her forehead. She reluctantly let go , and closed the glass box.

" Hahaha…. You can't escape from me. Give it up , and I might consider leaving you a complete corpse." An average looking man said behind them.

The couple turned around to see him surrounded by men in black. They were all standing in a very big laboratory, stocked with numerous high end machines.

" That's our hard work. Why would we give it to you, to inherit our merit. Why don't you create your own ?!" The woman fired back at him.

His face changed. Her words made him enraged. He pointed a gun at her , and fired . The man beside her moved her out of the way , and took the bullet.

" Bai Yan!!!! " The woman screamed out as she watched her husband's body hit the ground. She lay on top of him , and saw how blood flowed out from his mouth.

No sooner had she screamed, another gunshot rang out. She coughed out blood, and looked at her husband with a smile on. He smiled back at her , and raised his hand to touch her face.

" Yin'er…." His hand touched her face , and another gunshot rang out. Soon, series of gunshots rang out. It was quite loud and deafening.

The little girl in the glass box covered her mouth with her hands, as tears streamed down her face. She just watched her parents getting murdered in front of her.

" Huh? They are dead..? Hahahahaha....Long Live the Wu family.!!!" The average man laughed out , and his men followed afterwards.

He walked forward and picked up all the files he could find, and walked out. Before they left one of the men threw in a lighter, and the lab was set on fire. The young girl opened the glassbox and ran towards her parents.

" Dad…!!!! Mom..!!! Dad!!! Wake up, Mom.!!! No…N…o…..Dad.!!!!" The fire enclosed the whole lab , and her parents' bodies caught fire. While she was okay. She was sitting inside the fire, but it didn't affect her.

Soon the lab caved in , and collapsed. She was out of it,and didn't know what was happening around her. The lab was on a ship, and it collapsed into the ocean. Her body was sinking down the ocean, but she was dazed.

" Bai Fengxi!!! Open your eyes.!!! Your parents didn't want this to happen to you. !!! Wake up!!! Bai Fengxi!!! You can't take revenge if you die. Your parents' sacrifice would be for nothing. " A robotic female voice sounded in her head. She woke up from her daze , immediately. She quickly swam up to the surface.

" Ahh….Ah…Ah…" She panted, as she coughed up water from her mouth.

She opened the Silver locket around her neck, and traced the picture in it.

" Mom…Dad…I will avenge us. "

..............

She opened her eyes, and saw that she was at the bottom of the ocean.

She wasn't feeling suffocated . Strange…..

Did she just dream…?.....No…that wasn't a dream. That was a piece of her memory. And that piece has brought back the other pieces. She remembers everything. She remembers who she is.

That girl earlier looked exactly like her when she was little. The only difference is the hair and eye color. The girl said....she was me..? That's quite... unsettling.
