Trying To Take My Mask Off

My dream came true but I'm not happy. I became a legend in the entertainment world, and everybody knows me. But I sacrificed too much to stand here. I don't even know myself anymore. If you ask me what my biggest regrets are. It is that I don't know myself anymore, that I don't feel what I used to feel, that I don't know what makes me happy, that I'm now almost like a robot. It would be nice if I could change myself. If I could just turn back the time or go to another world, it doesn't matter what, if I could do it I would. And then I would change myself and search for what I want and become a person again. The girl smiled and said: "I'll give you a change." [Will you take this change and change yourself or will you stay the same? I really hope you'll change and be happy this time.] ---------------------------------------------- A boy who achieved his dream but felt alone met a girl who gave him a second chance. 56_Stealing is bad

"From there to there."

What he showed was bigger than what Narcys ever could imagine. He wanted to think logically, but he couldn't. Narcys wanted to stop playing this stupid game this moment, but before he could even sum up all his dissatisfaction the bell rung announcing the end of the first lesson and at the same time announcing that one hour already passed.

*RING* *RING*

*GULP*

The bell rang announcing the beginning of the five-minute break, and also the end of the first hour of the game.

"Something wrong?", Arthur tried hard to avoid meeting the devil's eyes while stammering that question because he knew what Narcys answer would be.

While he was waiting for the upcoming outburst, he silently prayed inside for that at least his corpse would be left after Narcys is done with him. However, the outburst he expected didn't come, instead a heavy sigh followed.

Narcys breathed in and out, trying to calm down. It wasn't the time to make trouble. Despite the fact that he was being silent, they didn't know if it was better than him being unreasonable.

They quietly looked at the boy while watching every move of him. They saw him turn around and walk away without even muttering a word.

"Where are you going?", Lucius grabbed his arm in an attempt to stop him.

"Does it matter?", he glanced irritated at the filthy hand that grabbed his arm.

Lucius nervously bit his underlip: "You're not leaving, right?"

The group would automatically lose if one wasn't present while playing and Lucius wasn't planning to lose at all.

He shook Lucius' arm off him and walked further: "I'm planning to steal."

"Steal?", Lilyann who stood quietly as a standby got shocked by the words 'stealing'. Never in her whole life have she stolen something. For her stealing was akin to a taboo, something outside her world.

"Let's follow him", Lucius walked quickly to Narcys who was getting farther and farther away with Arthur and Lilyann following.

"Do I have a choice?", Lin who was left behind walked slowly after them. She wasn't planning to follow that arrogant prick, but the words stealing did intrigue her. Just a little bit.

After a not so long walk they reached at Narcys' destination, the kitchen.

"You're stealing here?", Lilyann questioned while looking at the neat kitchen. The kitchen was the last place she thought as a place to steal.

"What are you planning to steal", Arthur explored the kitchen with a serious face: "Are you going to steal that transparent thingy from the kitchen and like paste it on the doors that people would like run into it and fall?"

The more he talked the more he found it a great idea. From casually exploring the kitchen he seriously searched for that transparent thingy, whereas his teammates could only lament about how they ended with such a partner. Despite the fact that he felt like he was being insulted, Narcys didn't comment anything. In fact, he would never do what Arthur had on his mind. In his opinion it was too time consuming, but he did know somebody who would gladly spend his time on such things to make other people lives an annoying hell.

Narcys walked to the fridge and opened it while Lucius followed him curiously. Inside you could see deliciously looking desserts that were probably made the day before. He took a chocolate mousse to fill his stomach and went on a search for a spoon, while Lucius looked blankly at him taking it so naturally.

"Arthur, have you found any spoons while searching?", he asked to the boy who was still searching attentively.

Although it may sound as he was asking politely, it was anything but that. Arthur didn't even have time to celebrate that 'that' Narcys would call his name when he was being asked something that may be his biggest crisis there would be in high school.

"That- ", Arthur had a feeling he had seen spoons somewhere, but he couldn't remember where. As a result, he began to roast his stupid brain for failing him in life and death situations.

In the middle of cursing himself, he heard Lucius asking: "Is it fine to take it just like that?"

Normally Arthur would pray silently for him because he was planning to go against the big demon. However, he couldn't help but think that Lucius was really an angel. The many jabs he got from him was already out of the window, and only admiration was remembered.

"It's fine, they won't know if nobody tells anyone", Narcys couldn't help but roll with his eyes. He really hated guys like Lucius, someone so timid trying to play the hero, a 'good' person. Really disgusting.

Lucius still couldn't accept it as easily as Narcys could. Stealing is still stealing. He grew up in an environment where stealing was seen as bad, no matter how little it was. Not that he had a chance to ever really do something like that.

When he once again wanted to protest against Narcys, a spoon entered his mouth together with something delicious. Before he could register what happened, he already finished eating.

"Now you can't but keep it a secret", in front of Lucius stood Narcys who seemed to have found the spoons. In one of his hands was the dessert, whereas the other held the spoon that just fed him.

"I- ", Lucius was flabbergasted. No words could describe how he felt at that moment while holding the now half eaten chocolate mousse and a spoon that Narcys gave him.

"Don't be so uptight. It is the least they could offer us for letting us go through this hell", Narcys already got a new one and began to eat it with relish. It was his favorite.

"It's okay, Lucius. Don't worry, I'll help you carry this secret if you want?", it wasn't a question to begin with. Since she already began to eat the chocolate mousse before Lucius could register her words.

"Is it really fine?", not only didn't it feel right for him, but Lilyann and Arthur had the same hesitation.

[Was it really fine to do this?]

"Of course not!", the answer wasn't what they anticipated, but at the same time something they did expect.

"Stealing even if it something they won't notice isn't something someone should do, but you should know that there are always exceptions. Let's say, is it bad when a penniless man steals medicines for his wife because she is sick?", Lin didn't want an answer, she just wanted them to think. "Was the stealing than bad?"

"No, I don't think so", Lilyann was a timid girl who didn't speak a lot to people she didn't knew, but she never backed out of expressing her beliefs.

"You may think so, but in other's eyes it may be the opposite of yours. Stealing is stealing. The difference is about how people think about it. Some may focus on the stealing while others may focus on the penniless and sick woman."

"What do you want to say then, that what we are doing isn't something bad if we perceive so?", Arthur asked confused. He understood what Lin meant, but at the same time he felt he didn't understand anything.

"No, definitely not. What we are doing right now is definitely not right."

"Then what did you want to tell us?", Lucius was frustrated. He didn't understand what Lin wanted to tell them, tell him.

"Stealing is bad, but don't let it cloud your mind. There may be a reason to it. It can't justify it, but maybe it will help you realize things you may not have noticed if you only put your focus on the bad things."

"But still, what we are doing tight now, isn't it bad?", Lucius understood what Lin wanted to say, but he couldn't figure out what it had to do with what they were doing now.

"I just wanted to help expanding your narrow world", she replied with a beautiful smile gracing her petit face. "What we are doing is wrong, but we are still children. That isn't a reason to justify all teenagers' actions, but we still are young. We may never ever have a chance to feel the thrill of having done something bad. Stealing in shops is a big no, but this is fine. I know for sure they won't mind it if we ate one or two."

Stealing is bad, but who hasn't stolen a candy or two in a store? It just affirms you are alive. Your heart beating fast, hoping nobody noticed you just ate a candy. It is something you can only do when you are young, when you grow up you notice that the world really can be a piece of sh*t sometimes. You need to stay alert because once you let your guard down, hell comes knocking, whispering depressing things. The older you get the more you have to act. There are so little of people who could really live a carefree life as adults, as grownups. Maybe even you won't belong in that group.
