chapter 18: Date night 2

The rest of their date went unhitched. They were assigned a new waitress who was more decent and respected the job. Someone played the piano in the background, creating a beautiful and calming melody.

Looking at the menu, Adria couldn't understand a thing. There were different food combinations and names she had never heard off, so she requested that Andre ordered for her instead. And she was glad she made that decision because the food he recommended was completely tantalizing. It was worth every cell in her taste buds.

After their meal, they enjoyed their dessert as they chatted. Adria got to know more about his childhood and the antics he and his sister were always up to.

According to his words, they were the best and worst terrorizing kids in their estate. The maids had already taken notice that when the siblings were together, there was always trouble or mischief lurking.

One particular story that made her almost laugh her lungs out was the story of how he and his sister made the house smell like a decaying carcass skin and made everyone one laugh instead of being mad at them.

It started with how their parents denied them of having a sleepover at his best friend's house because according to their mum, they spent more time there than at their own house. His best friend had a younger brother and his sister and the brother were also friends.

They decided to plan their revenge that since they can't stay over at their friend's they would make sure no one can stay at their own house.

They had made little gas bombs and infused them with a chemical known as trimethylamine, a volatile amine that has a strong pungent and unpleasant odour.

They also used their dad's connection to get a supply of Nitrous oxide (N2O), also known as laughing gas. They had waited till everyone had gone to bed to plant them around the house.

At exactly 12am, the bombs released the gases contained in them. The house became chaotic as everyone inhaled the pungent smell, they immediately knew who was behind it. And not just because of the gas mask they had worn on their face prepared as they laughed at their parents faces. But instead of scolding to come out of their parents mouth, they started laughing instead as the laughing gas was also released.

No one could stay in the house. That night the house was vacated as his dad lodged everyone in his private hotel. Including the cook, maid and Gardner.

They were grounded for two months as that was the amount of time it took for the smell to completely disappear from the house. No matter the method used the smell stayed until it dispersed entirely.

As Andre told Adria the story he couldn't help but also laugh along as he remembered the times he and his sister always got in trouble for their mischiefs.

As their laughter reduced, Adria noticed the hint of pain reflecting in his eyes. She didn't want to bring back painful memories but she knew he needed someone to talk to, someone to confide in.

"Is it okay if I asked what happened to her, your sister?" She asked treading carefully as she tested the waters to know if it was okay for him to answer her question.

She studied his face for any sign of discomfort or unease he would show regarding her question.

It took a while and Adria thought he wouldn't answer.

"It's okay if you don't want to talk about it."

She told him as she thought of another topic to distract him from her earlier question.

With a hand on her chin as she studied him, she couldn't resist smiling, looking at the man in front of her. The man she loved. The man who has been through a lot but still stands tall.

And the best thing was that he's hers. Completely and utterly hers.

A thought suddenly popped into her head.

"Alej." She said in a sing song voice as she looked at him pouting her pink lips.

"Hmmm" he responded as he gazed at her, wondering what was going on right now in that pretty little head of her's.

"How far is the beach from here?" She inquired as he looked at her questioningly wondering why she asked.

"Just a five minutes walk from here, why?" He asked.

"Can we go, pretty please?" She said putting on the best puppy eyes that she could muster.

"I didn't exactly plan for us to go the beach, what if you get wet and catch a cold?" He told her as he worried about her health.

"Come on, please? We don't even have to get into the water." She suggested, hoping he would agree and he did.

"Fine. But no getting in the water. Promise?" He asked her.

"Mhmm, I promise." She replied but secretly crossed her index and middle finger behind her back as she smiled mischievously.

They both exited the restaurant as they walked hand in hand, heading to the beach. The area wasn't exactly filled with houses or people, it was like a peaceful vacation location. You wouldn't be able to hear the automobiles as they drove along the busy roads in the city, or the smoke filled air from machines.

Here, you could smell the salt water air as it wafts over the quiet and peaceful area. You could feel the gentle breeze as it caresses you skin. From standing on the ground, you would be able to see the moon clearly unlike the city where tall buildings obstructed your view of the Earth's natural satellite.

On getting to the beach, Adria didn't waste time in taking off her shoes as she couldn't wait to feel the beach sand beneath her feet. She skipped happily as she immersed her feet, feeling the coarse sand under her toes.

Andre walked behind her, smiling at her as she enjoyed doing mundane things like dipping your feet in sand. It was a much needed break as she needed time to process everything that was revealed to her doing the weekend.

Tomorrow they could continue from where they were on ending the shadowhand clan, but right now, the focus was on them. On the way they would spend this night of reprieve.

Andre didn't register that he had stopped walking and was watching her, not until he saw her turn around and run back towards him as she pulled him along saying something along the lines of,

"It's the beach. Let's have fun."

The beach wasn't empty as there were few people around. There were kids having fun around as their parents sat a few feet away from there. There were clearly enjoying the night sky and as it seemed their houses weren't far.

They had both gotten to the shore of the beach as Adria slowly dipped her foot but immediately withdrew it as the water was cold. She tried again slowly, allowing her left foot be accustomed to the temperature before placing her right foot in.

She was already knew deep inside the water when she was suddenly yanked back by someone. They had both lost their footing as they feel backwards into the water, getting completely drenched.

Emerging up above the water as the stood, Adria laughed at the situation they found themselves in as Andre only looked at her hopelessly.

She had promised him she wouldn't get in the water but she had done exactly that. Adria knew exactly what she was doing, she wanted him to loosen up.

As she continued laughing Andre couldn't help but join her as it was contagious. He chuckled softly as he stared at her face that had water drops rolling down.

They had both stopped laughing as they still stood in the water, staring at each other intensely.

Andre eyes followed a trail of water that rolled from her hair, passed her cheek and disappeared somewhere along her lips.

Adria didn't notice how dark his eyes had gotten as her focus was also on his lips. If only she also knew how dark her gaze went as she stared at him.

They both looked into each other's eyes and noticed how it spoke a million different emotions their lips would not be able to say.

Not a second later, Andre's lips captured Adria's as he pulled her closer wrapping his hand around her waist and the other going up into her damp hair.

Adria immediately responded to the kiss as her hand trailed up his chest, the other was buried in his hair as she gently yanked at it, wanting more.

And Andre was more than happy to oblige as he softly bit her lower lip which had her parting her lips as he dug his tongue into her mouth.

Their tongues dancing ferociously as they dominated for control, both not wanting to yield. In the end Andre won as his tongue took control, exploring every inch in her mouth.

They both parted for air but immediately went in again for another kiss.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They had gotten out of the water after their passionate make out that had left them breathless for a while.
Right now, they lay on the sand staring at the stars and moon which shone upon them. Adria had placed her head on his chest as he wrapped his arm around her.
His chest rose and fell softly, her head moving along with it. It was peaceful, the setting, the atmosphere, everything felt peaceful in that moment.
