Triumph of the impure (invincible)

One moment I was an average guy who read fanfiction all night and worked all day. the next I was being reborn as the son of a superhero in a reality unknown to me. I DO NOT own the cover art or the Invincible series. the only character I own is Maximus Grayson. and some ocs I may add The book will follow Cannon closely so if you expect some murder-hobo edgy mc that kills every threat with ease and slaughters people without care pls drop. you have been warned and I will delete trash reviews with no real criticism.\ book follows a mix of the comic and show cannon so there will be a lot of things show only fans don't know about or get confused about.

Day in the life of a hero

The day after we met the teen team, Mark and I ran into two very familiar-looking girls we stopped in front of each other. an awkward silence raining out as we stare at each other.

"You're the girls from last night!" Mark exclaims rather loudly like the idiot he is as I slap the back of his head while some passing students give us looks.

"Dude, are you slow!?" I growl out as Mark glares at me, "How am I, slow dumbass? You're just as loud as I am. " I grab the front of Mark's shirt as we stare into each other's eyes

"You wanna act tough? let's take this outside -" I can't finish as I am rudely interrupted by a set of giggles.

I release Mark as I notice the two girls from last night giggling a bit as I cringe. "Oh! sorry you had to see that?"

I leave room for introduction as the girls stop giggling

"Eve," the orange-haired girl speaks first as I nod, then look at the blonde intently. "Hana," she speaks like she is not interested in the conversation despite just giggling moments earlier.

"Well, I'm Mark, and he's Max. If you can't tell the difference between the two of us, look at the eyes. Max has the stereotypical blue eyes while I have grey eyes" I frown at Mark's jab as I bump my elbow into his ribs with enough force to bypass his invulnerability as he grunts before returning the favor.

"It's funny to think that you two were in our chemistry class this entire time, I hope you know the whole school thinks you both are delinquents." Eve giggles as I smile slightly, and Mark growls.

"It's all Max's fault. he kept beating people up even before we got our powers..." Mark looks downcast as I pat his back in comfort. Mark has always been the 'nice' twin.

Though I know what my other half could be like when he's pissed.

"Anyways, can you two keep our identities a secret? you never know when one of your teammates is going to go insane and become the next supervillain." I ask politely for the girls to keep our secret, and they both nod.

"Dude, that only happens in comic books!" Mark says to me as I frown. "You dumbass! it can happen in real life, too!" I frown as Mark shakes his head and retaliates.

After a brief argument with Mark, we find ourselves leaving the school as Eve turns to us with Hana behind her.

"Listen, we are following up on the incident from last night today. you're welcome to tag along if you'd like, " Eve speaks to us as I nod, and Mark speaks.

"What are we going out here? do you take the bus to your team's secret base?" Mark asks as I resist the urge to slap him upside the head.

Eve looks taken aback as her smile drops a bit. "Are you kidding me? I and Hana can fly." Walking down the stairs, I glance at the person she's talking about.

Hana is oddly silent and seems to follow Eve around like a lost puppy. something I will worry about later as Eve gestures for me and Mark to follow her.

"C'mon, we can change over there!" Eve gestures toward a nearby crate as we nod and follow along

Once in front of the crate, I can't help but ask, "Do you come here often?" But instead of Eve answering, Hana does, "Every day."

Nodding Mark and I head inside as Hana and Eve stay behind.

Emerging from the crate fully dressed in our costumes, I and Mark find Eve and Hana fully dressed as we nod to each other.

Dazzling white wings explode from the seam of Hana's back as we take off into the skies.

It doesn't take us long to arrive at some sort of secret base as we all fly in through a hole at the top of the building.

"A bridge, huh?" Mark remarks as the four of us slowly descend into the base. my eyes watching how the angel girl uses her wings.

'Her wings are beautiful.' I shake my head and get those thoughts gone as Robot speaks.

"You're late, I'll assume that's our new friends from last night with you..." Robot turns around from whatever he is doing as he looks at me and Mark.

"Good, oh. And they're wearing a much nicer costume. Kate and Rex are out on another mission. They will be of good use tonight." Robot turns around again as the four of us follow.

"Oh, and if you would have gotten here 4 minutes later, I would have to do this myself." Robot begins walking.

"C'mon," Robot speaks to the four of us as we follow along. "I erased the Mauler twins' memories from the last night and left them close to the toy store they robbed. they will be disoriented and more than likely seek out the familiar ground."

"I hypothesize that they will lead us to their base, and we'll be able to figure out what their plans for the video game systems were."

Robot arrives in front of a familiar flying machine before blasting off. Mark and Eve are on the back of the flying vehicle. Angel and I follow side by side, flying on our own.

"I've been tracking them from here, but we need to be on sight when they arrive." Robot pauses briefly in contemplation before continuing."I was afraid I was going to have to leave without you."

"Sorry about that," me and Mark speak at the same time as we glance at each other.

Robot nods. "Don't worry about it... I'm not even sure I will need you." Robot explains as I cringe slightly.

"There they are!" I spot one of the mauler twins entering a building as we soar down the mauler twin enters the building as I smash through the roof like wet tissue.

"Enough chatter, boys!" I laugh as the twins stare at me in shock, spotting the mass amount of robots I yell to the team.

"Don't let them activate the robots! I'll handle this one!" I yell. In a blur, I'm in front of the mauler twin. Punching his gut and making him spit blood as he flies into a nearby wall.

"What makes you think we need the robots to beat you!?" The twin's Mark Hana and Eve are fighting yells as I feel my face get palmed by the now risen twin.

Getting smashed into a wall isn't pleasant. Even if I didn't feel a thing, it's still annoying.

Hana blasts the twin holding me away with a beam of light as I thank her. Blitzing towards the dazed twin, I land an uppercut followed by a slam.

"I don't know what you hope to accomplish here. But you're in over your head!" Robot yells to the other mauler twin. Ducking under a jab before electrocuting him with a stray wire.

"I'll see what I can do." Robot rocks the stunned twins' jaw with a right hook. Drawing blood and knocking him unconscious.

Once we wrap things up, Robot turns to me and Mark. "Thanks for the help. Invincible, sentry. You two seem like pretty useful guys. Think you might be interested in staying with us?"

Mark and I look at each other. A twin telepathy moment happens between the two of us as Mark speaks.

"We will think about it. Is it always this easy?" Shaking my head in silent agreement at Mark's words, we fly off.

Me Mark Hana and Eve are in the school auditorium. The principal babbles on and on about something as I groan in boredom.

"If we're lucky, the missing students will show up, and everything will go back to normal."

Mark looks at me. We make eye contact as I shake my head.

"I'm going to say it. Whatever happened couldn't have happened to a nicer group of guys." His words make me stifle a laugh as Hana glares at the two of us.

"Jesus, Mark! That's a pretty mean thing to say! I've talked to Tod a few times... I mean, I can't speak for the other two, but he at least seemed nice." Eve reprimanded Mark as I couldn't control my laughter anymore snickering.

"This isn't a laughing matter maximus." Hana's voice makes me freeze as I meet her eyes. Gulping at her glare.

"You're clueless! Why do you think Tod will be nice to you?" Mark explains to Eve as she stares at him before responding.

"You know I'm dating Rex, right?" I cringe as my little brother gets friend-zoned.

"Woah! Woah! That's not where I was going with that at all! - heh." Mark laughs awkwardly as I pat his back,

Eve responds as we leave the auditorium. "Righttt. So, are you two on your way to the cafeteria, too? Or are you just walking with us?" Mark looks at me as I shrug.

"Well, I guess we have the same lunch period, too. I can't believe the four of us hadn't met before last month."

At lunch, I approached Mark Eve and Hana at our chosen table with my mystery meat lunch.

"Ladies," I say as I take my seat next to Mark. Frowning as Mark nudged me with his elbow, I dig into my lunch.

After taking a few bites, I look to Hana as Mark and Eve Converse. "Say Hana, why don't you talk much?" I question trying to start a conversation.

"I observe everyone maximus. There is no reason to speak." Her voice remains as cold as usual as I chuckle in awkwardness.

"You can call me Max. Only my dad and mom call me maximus, and it's usually when they are pretty angry." I explain as Hana shakes her head.

Her face looks awkward as she mutters. "I like the name Maximus..." My eyes widen as I nod. Fine, she can call me Maximus.

After school, I find myself copying internet martial arts. While Mark is at work, I train. Without Mark, things are boring. I've been with him my entire life.

"Manji kick!" I yell as I imitate the counter move. Practicing it mid-air as that's where I will be the majority of the time.

As I'm practicing martial arts in my room, I hear Mark enter the house. He's home early. He probably quit considering his boss is a jackass.

Walking down the stairs, I spotted my brother. Laughing as he scowls, I head back to my room.

After dinner, me Mark and Dad get suited up to go on patrol. Dad 'convincing' Mark to quit his job as we fly off.

As we move at the speed of sound, Dad turns to us. "You know, from all indications, you two are not doing too bad. Especially for how new to this you are."

I smile at the praise. The old man rarely praises just about anything. "Thanks, dad. we- huh?" I can't finish as dad shoots off in a sonic boom.

"Sorry about that, there was a chemical fire over at the university's science lab." He pauses for a bit as we continue flying leisurely.

"Anyway, as I was saying... you guys have done a lot of good these past three months. To be quite honest, I'm impressed.

This makes my smile widen. Mark also smiles as I shake my head.

"That means a lot coming from you, dad. Thanks." I say as Mark nods.

"Don't tahnk me boys. Just keep up the good work."

"Look out, dad! that dam is about to-" Mark yells as dad shoots off again before returning

"Wanna go for lunch?" He asks as my stomach growls.

"Show off." Mark smiles as we fly off for lunch.

Hope this chapter shows off Mark and Max's relationship. they love each other but act like siblings. they have the 'only I can mess with my brother mentality.'
