Chapter 2

An unknown number of days passed as Alonzo took care of the wounded female he brought back. He doesn't know how to tend to a wounded female, but fortunately, the female seems to possess a very tenacious life and survived such a dangerous wound.

The female's life has finally stabilized and the wound is starting to get healed. Alonzo occasionally cleaned it and applied some herbal juice. Then when he heard the female's stomach growling in hunger. He would leave the nest and seal the gate before picking up fruit from the forest to feed the female.

From his inherited memory, it was said that females couldn't be fed blood as their stomachs were weak. So instead of feeding blood to avoid letting the female get sick because of salt deficiency. They would instead feed the female with fruits that contains the nutrition that every female has to take ( the Beastman is talking about the sodium intake of a human).

Alonzo spent most of his time in the cave recalling the buried memories he inherited about the female's diet and remembered some memories about feeding a balanced diet to them.

For weakened and sick females, there are several fruits suitable for them, especially when they are incapable of eating meat.

There are crescent fruit ( banana ), heart-shaped fruit ( apple ) , and there are also underground tube plants that are edible ( potato , sweet potatoes).

And seeing as the female was still unconscious, Alonzo considerately smashed them and poured them into his mouth. Xinn subconsciously gulped, but he was still unconscious.

Alonzo gazed at the female worriedly and nudged him with his head. Why is the female still asleep? Is his wound that bad? No wonder females in his memory have to recover for a whole month when they get injured. They are so fragile! It is justifiable that Beastmen are protective of their females.

Alonzo slithered to the side to pound another herb for his wound when he saw that there were no longer herbs on the floor. He then slithered out, deciding to pick up some herbs to apply to his female's wound. Not long after Alonzo left the cave.

The female sleeping at the side groaned. His eyelashes fluttered as his eyes moved behind closed lids.

" Traitor " a hoarse voice weakly escaped out of his pale lips.

His eyes slowly opened and he felt a bit dizzy from the lack of blood. Xinn frowned and gulped to wet his dry lips. Then he suddenly tasted some remains of fruit puree in his mouth. Judging from his wound, he would have been unconscious for some long days. Who took care of him?

After his sight finally cleared up, Xinn roamed his eyes around the dark cave. It is a bit cold here, but it is still bearable for him who had already built resistance to such environments.

He then slowly sat up to check on his wound. His shirt was hanging over a branch stuck between the gaps in the rocks in the cave. Someone washed his clothes for him. Xinn looked around and saw that he was lying on a gray-colored fur. It was soft and clean, and it seems that it is authentic.

Xinn was grateful that someone took care of him when he was wounded, but he was confused as to why he ended up in a cave. He was supposed to be in the middle of a dilapidated city. There's no way he would end up here even if he escaped out.

It was unscientific, but his life had never been scientific ever since the apocalypse came.

Did I teleport to some places after I was assassinated?

He indeed possessed such skill, but with the level of his ability, it was close to impossible. Without coordinates or anything like that, he couldn't arrive here.

Because he had never been to a forest before. Even if he had seen an Amazon forest on TV before, he wouldn't be able to get there without knowing its coordinates. Moreover, the forest was so far away from the city. With his weakened power caused by his wound, his teleportation ability couldn't get him in the middle of the forest.

So how did he end up here? Did someone from the base drag him here from the base?

Xinn touched his wound and his eyes narrowed dangerously when he recalled what Ruru had done to him. He was so careless, to think that a traitor had been by his side all along. What a snake! Xinn clicked his tongue and leaned his body against the cold rock wall.

A few seconds later, a rustling sound suddenly rang out. Xinn opened his eyes abruptly and looked at the entrance to the cave vigilantly. Then suddenly, an outline of a giant python appeared within his sight. He doesn't know how big it is, but it looks like the pythons he occasionally saw in movies. What the hell, who would have thought that even lying low inside a dark cave, he would still encounter a giant mutated monster?

He wanted to summon his rifle to kill the snake, but it seems that by looking at its body. A bullet might not be able to penetrate through its body. Xinn groaned when he moved, his wound palpitated with his sudden movements, he doesn't care though.

" Fcc " Xinn immediately stood up and stared vigilantly at the snake.

He struggled to maintain his balance, but he could still ready himself to activate his ability to eliminate the snake for a few seconds.

The whole appearance of the snake finally appeared within his sight. From the looks of it, it must have a length of not more than 10 meters, with a weight of more than 60 kilos, he also felt like he could reach his own hands if he hugged the body of the snake.

All of a sudden, an ancient sword appeared in the hands of Xinn. Xinn locked his eyes with the snake's eyes and narrowed them dangerously.

" What a stroke of bad luck to encounter such a giant monster when I'm wounded. "

When the sword appeared in his hands all of a sudden. The snake suddenly stopped slithering and stared at him.

Alonzo had just brought back a nest of bird eggs and a dead giant blackbird. When he came back to his cave, he was stunned to see his female finally awake. Alonzo hissed in delight and slithered closer to him, but his female suddenly stood up and stared at him vigilantly.

There seems to be something wrong within the eyes of his female. It was cold and guarded, when his eyes narrowed, Alonzo felt like he was an enemy. Alonzo didn't like this feeling and felt a pang of pain in his heart.

Don't look at me like that, please.

Alonzo hung his head down dejectedly and hissed in sadness. Then suddenly, he saw a weapon suddenly appearing in the hands of his female. Alonzo's eyes widened in shock.

What happened? How did that happen?

Then suddenly he heard his female uttering some incomprehensible words. Alonzo immediately felt disappointed learning he and his female don't have the same language. How could they get along with each other if his female couldn't understand him?

Alonzo slithered closer, but the rock beside him exploded and split into four pieces. Alonzo stiffened in shock and stared speechlessly at the pieces of rock in front of him.

" I'm warning you, stay away from me. " His female friend coldly said.

Although Alonzo couldn't understand what those words meant, he could feel the alienation from his tone. Alonzo closed his mouth and felt like crying anytime soon. His speed slowed down and he finally dropped his head to the ground dejectedly.

Xinn confusedly watched the giant python as it rested its head slowly on the ground. Xinn narrowed his eyes in suspicion; why did he feel like the snake was expressing sadness.

Before he could react to the snake's movements. A nest of eggs and the dead body of a bird were suddenly brought to him by the snake. The tail of the giant snake coiled around the dead bird as it was brought in front of him. After releasing the bird, the tail then coiled around a nest of eggs and brought it next to the bird.

The tail tapped them twice and felt like the snake was telling him to eat them.

The snake was not hostile; but how come it possessed such high intelligence. He had not heard of a snake being so caring to humans before.

Xinn touched his wound, then suddenly saw plants wrapped in a bundle of leather. Xinn suspiciously stared at it then turn his head to the boulder where he could see a set of pestle and mortar with a residue of herbal juice and leaves.

The dejected snake slowly raised his head and watched his female, who seems to have lowered his guard, for a second. Alonzo hissed at the female and exposed his forked tongue.

Xinn looked back at the snake and subconsciously tightened his hold on his sword. Alonzo dropped his gaze unto the sword and suddenly grew courageous as he slithered slowly towards the female.

Xinn watched as the giant python came closer to him. Xinn suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed to the ground. He suddenly felt weak and the world was spinning. It seems that the effect of the lack of blood attacked him.

The snake suddenly coiled itself around him. Xinn widened his eyes and wanted to hold back the sword that he dropped to the ground, but it was already too late. The giant green python had already surrounded himself. Xinn was prepared to be choked, but the python surprisingly did not do anything, and just lifted his body and rested him on top of the fur sheet he rested upon earlier.

" Y-you. " Xinn was dumbfounded by the realization.

" We're you the one who saved me? " He asked.

Alonzo couldn't understand what the female was talking about, but he was happy when he didn't hear any tone of coldness or alienation from it. It sounds like a question to him, but he doesn't dare answer it recklessly and nudges his head unto the female's cheeks.

Xinn stiffened from the cold skin that touched his cheeks and stared with wide eyes at the python.

Alonzo lifted a small egg from the nest with his tail and brought it to the female's mouth. He hissed and said. " Eat "

Unfortunately, his female couldn't understand his words clearly since he was in his beast form right now.

He was afraid that his female would dislike his human form. Based on his memory, most of the females he could remember from his inherited memory preferred to mate with the majestic four-legged beasts outside. Especially Lions and Tigers who were apex predators.

However, although Snake Beastmen are told to be good-looking. Most females prefer masculine ones with warm bodies and hard-toned abdominal muscles to the slender-bodied snake Beastmen who have cold personalities and low body temperature.

Alonzo silently observed his female and saw that he didn't open his mouth to eat the egg. Alonzo was confused, generally, if they eat food, they would just swallow everything, and digest them within their stomach without any worries. He couldn't understand why females have to eat every kind of food with different kinds of techniques and methods.

Xinn pushed the egg away from him and shook his head. " It's raw, I don't eat raw foods. "

The snake was at loss, and Xinn could see the emotion on its face. The snake stared at him for a few seconds before putting the egg back into the nest. Then, when the snake was about to lift the dead bird, Xinn immediately shook his head in refusal.

Alonzo hissed in frustration and snapped the dry wood at the side into two the with his tail. Xinn flinched in surprise and immediately stared at the snake's body with vigilance. Xinn almost forgot that snakes aren't friendly to humans.

Alonzo immediately perceived the guarded body language of his female and immediately realized that he had lost his temper again. Alonzo felt sorry and immediately nudged his head into the female's legs and carefully wound his body around the female's waist.

However, he only felt the increasing vigilance of his female. Alonzo felt frustrated, no wonder the count of their race was so low. No females would want to mate with them for some unknown reason. He couldn't understand, he was handsome and strong. But he saw from his memory that whenever his predecessors coiled themselves around a female as a sign of affection, the females would immediately cry in fright.

Are they that scary? Those Lions and Tigers were scarier than them. Is it because they are warmer and good to the touch?

Is it their fault that they don't have any fur like those four-legged beasts?

Alonzo hissed in sadness, but it only sounded like a threat within the Xinn's ear.

" Hey, honey, what food do you want to eat. " Alonzo tapped the female's waist and turned to look at the two food options.

" Hurry, what do you want to eat. "

Xinn watched the python tapping his tail on his waist, then nudged at himself and looked at the two foods on the ground. Xinn gradually understood what the snake meant and felt weirded out.

Is this a snake? Did the mutation cause their intelligence to soar high?
