Danger on All Sides

Seven was once again pulled back in front of the regent. He had lost the continuity of his memories but remained steadfast in his mission.

"Are you here to assassinate the Emperor?" the regent asked coldly.

Seven replied firmly, "Where is the Emperor? I need to see him."

The regent sneered, "Do you think you can just see the Emperor whenever you want? Tell me, who are you, and why did you suddenly appear in the Emperor's quarters? What is your purpose?"

Seven thought quickly about how to make the Emperor believe him. "You can put on quite an act, but I will expose you to my ancestor."

The regent grew impatient, "You won't talk unless you see the Emperor? Fine, do you want me to behead you?"

At that moment, the Emperor and Empress walked into the room. The Emperor frowned, "Who is this man? Why is he here?"

The regent hurriedly knelt and greeted, "Your Majesty, this strange man suddenly appeared in your chambers. He must be here to assassinate you."

The Emperor looked at Seven with interest. "Oh, really? This assassin seems quite amusing."

Seven exclaimed excitedly, "Your Majesty, we finally meet again."

The Emperor looked puzzled. "You've met me before?"

Seven responded confidently, "You are my great-great-great-great-great-grandfather, and she is my great-great-great-great-grandmother. You are my ancestors."

The Empress couldn't help but laugh, "That's not how you beg for your life."

Seven quickly explained, "I'm not an assassin. I'm not here to kill you; I'm here to save you."

The Emperor asked curiously, "Save us? How do you plan to do that?"

The regent interrupted impatiently, "Your Majesty, don't listen to his nonsense. I will take him away and interrogate him thoroughly."

Seven shouted urgently, "Your Majesty, isn't today your third brother's feast? Aren't you going to attend the banquet?"

The Emperor was taken aback. "You seem to know a lot about the banquet."

Seven continued, "Your Majesty, if you go to the banquet today, you will fall into a trap, and our Yang family will be ruined."

The regent sneered, "Enough! Take him away and behead him!"

The Emperor raised his hand. "Today is my birthday. No killing. We will deal with this when I return."

Seven shouted, "Your Majesty, the person who wants to kill you is the regent. He wants to kill you!"

The Emperor was shocked. "The regent? You say the regent wants to kill me?"

Seven nodded firmly, "Yes, the regent wants to kill you and usurp the throne."

The regent was furious, "Boy, I've had enough of you! Do not slander me before the Emperor!"

The Emperor turned to the regent. "Regent, what do you have to say? Are you planning to kill me?"

The regent hurriedly defended himself, "Your Majesty, I am loyal to you. How could I possibly kill you? This man is insane; do not listen to him."

The Empress looked at Seven and said softly, "Do you know who he is? He is a close relative of the Emperor, who has followed him through many battles. How could he possibly kill the Emperor?"

Seven said excitedly, "Your Majesty, believe me. Investigate him; he is a traitor plotting against you!"

The Emperor shook his head. "You have wasted enough of my time. Regent, take him to the dungeon."

Seven shouted desperately, "Your Majesty, we are blood relatives. This is a matter of life and death. I cannot lie to you. It concerns the future of our family for 18 generations!"

The Emperor waved dismissively. "Silence. Regent, take him to the dungeon."

The regent smirked and grabbed Seven. "Your Majesty, you cannot trust him."

Seven shouted angrily, "Your Majesty, do not be deceived!"

The Emperor, growing impatient, said, "Regent, I know your plans. The Emperor trusts you as a close confidant, but do not harbor any treacherous thoughts."

The regent sneered at Seven, "How do you know I want to kill the Emperor?"

Seven stared at the regent, "You admit it, don't you?"

The regent sneered, "Your Majesty, he admits he wants to kill you."

Seven shouted urgently, "Your Majesty, he admits he wants to kill you!"

But the Emperor had already walked away, leaving Seven in the grasp of the regent. The regent, now furious, said, "You want to kill the Emperor? You will not die easily either. Scoundrel, let me go!"

The regent smirked, "You are too naive."

Dragged into the dungeon, Seven made a silent vow. This time, he would find the evidence to expose the regent's conspiracy and save the Emperor and Empress once and for all.
