Chapter 62 - Laniarr's astounding display of magical skills

"Bastards!" Laniarr said spitefully, since two of the people in his group had been killed in that horrifying, gruesome manner.

Then he aimed his palm at a group of beast and instantly casted a spell that caused ten thousand brightly burning blades formed out of magical energy to instantly materialize in the air and shoot at great speeds towards the beasts he decisively targeted.

Puchi!

Puchi!

Puchi!....

Some of the beasts that were targeted were instantly struck by the burning blades, which caused them to loudly cry out in agony, since the magical flames that emitted from the blazing blades continuously burned at their nigh-incorporeal, smoke-like bodies.

However, they quickly recovered in the next instant and ragingly roared at Laniarr, before deciding to attack him, choosing him as a target.

Understanding what they were about to do, Laniarr swiftly casted a spell that caused the instant manifestation of seemingly countless, divine-looking spears which immediately formed into a massive purple cloud before him.

Then in the next second, the cloud which was a massive congregation of uncountably-numbered and densely-packed, one-inch wide spears that individually exuded constant bizarre ripples of a greatly alarming power that caused the air to ceaselessly hum and seemingly vaporize, diffused outwardly at great speeds and struck at every inch or points in space in front of him, and for hundreds of feet in the farthest distance within the cave.

Puchi!

Puchi!

Puchi!...

Each of the massive, smoke-like formless beasts that jumped towards him, were pelted by at least six hundred spears of solidified Astra Mystralis energy which glowed in blinding purple lights and caused the billowing, smoke-like forms of the beasts to disperse instantly, meaning that he had utterly annihilated them.

'Hmm. This guy is good!' Maxmillan said in a praising tone within himself.

Once Laniarr had killed off the formless beasts that wanted to attack him, the other formless beasts grew extremely indignant and began to fuse with one another to form into a really large beast that would attack Laniarr who seemed like a really powerful and formidable, adversarial opponent.

As they began to merge with one another to create a tremendously large, smoke-like formless monstrosity out of their fusion with one another, Laniarr immediately aimed his two palms at them and caused the instant manifestation of thousands of brightly glowing, giant circular blades that spun at tremendous speeds and were individually enveloped by instant, solid-freezing cyan flames that caused the paths at which the spinning blades shot through, to immediately freeze over really hard and cause numerous, small solid pieces of ice to fall to the ground. Furthermore, more than five hundred dozens of large visible trails of frost and vastly blanketing, thin layers of ice could be seen in the air, which were endlessly left behind by the quick-freezing, cold-emitting blades that carried with them extreme sharpness and a shocking devastating power.

Swishhh!

Swishhh!

Swishhh!...

Shooting through the air like furiously-fired arrows towards the rapidly-forming dreadful monstrosity far in front of him, many of the beasts that shot out as streaks of light towards the monstrosity to merge with it and increase its horrifying colossal size to an even greater level, were instantly struck by the rapidly spinning circular blades and were knocked tremendously far away through the walls of numerous interconnected caves by the massive force that each of the powerful circular blades shot out with. Also, due to the air-freezing, otherworldly glacial coldness that emitted from each of the blades, the formless beasts that were struck and instantly cut in halves by the blades, were frozen solidly hard.

Maxmillan who was watching the whole thing, shook his head in awe and said within himself, 'This Laniarr guy is definitely a genius. If I should engage him in battle, I seriously wonder who is going to win between us. He is really powerful and well-skilled. I can't help but believe that he has many other astounding skills that he is concealing which he would gloriously reveal at a much later time. Furthermore, he seems like someone that has great battle intelligence and high combat proficiency.'

The monstrosity that was building far in front of Laniarr, through the fusion of numerous formless beasts that shot into it to merge with and make it grow into a terrifying, valley-quaking giant beast, was instantly cut of all its supplies and was riddled with thousands of deeply-cut wounds from which thick layers of ice and frost grew out from and rapidly, entirely covered its monstrously large body.

A second later, the massive monstrosity that was building at an alarming rate dozens of feet before Laniarr, became thickly encrusted in ice and abruptly fell to the ground where it instantly shattered into countless, glittering minute fragments of ice that scattered everywhere on the solid bare floor of the cave.

Clap!

Clap!

Clap!...

A male that was an Astra Spellcraft Commander and was at the fourteenth layer of Common Achievement stage, Mortal tier, began to clap his hands with a faked awe expression in his face.

"Well done, Laniarr. You are really good. Maybe one of these days, I will invite you to have a battle with this Lord." The male who was Greniard by name, said with a mocking smile in his face, showing that he was obviously looking down on Laniarr.

Laniarr looked at him and smiled, despite knowing that Greniard was only trying to mock him and humbly said, "I am only a Ninth layer, Common Achievement stage, Mortal tier-Astra Spellcraft Commander. While you are at the fourteenth layer. I absolutely do not have the qualifications to fight with you in any battle. Instead, I will beg and ask for your directions and guidances, since you are definitely much more enlightened and knowledgeable than me in the mysteries and profoundness of Astra Mystralis. I can only look up to you from faraway, Greniard."

Greniard heard what Laniarr said and simply shook his head in anger, since the wrathful responses that he was hoping to hear from Laniarr, did not come out from him.

'Why is this bastard so polite? Or can nothing can really make him angry? Or is that he doesn't see that I was only trying to mock him? Well, one of these days, you will grow immensely angry at me and try to fight me. It's then I will prove myself to you. And I believe that is going to happen much sooner than I can think!' Greniard said and laughed wickedly within himself.

"Laniarr, don't mind Greniard, he is only trying to make you angry. Don't give in to him." One of the people in Laniarr's group said with a concerned tone in her voice.

"It's okay. I am not worried about him. Although he is at the fourteenth layer, while I am at the ninth layer and would seem heavily disadvantaged in a battle against him. I can still however overwhelm him and overpoweringly defeat him. He doesn't know the kind of strength I possess, which is why he runs his mouth anyhow. Actually, half-filled barrels like him seek for battles with others instead of focusing on improving themselves. I don't mind any of his rude words towards him. In fact, I don't mind the rude words of every person in here towards me, as I am only dedicated to greater strength attainment and high prowess achievement!" Laniarr said and smiled, while the others adoringly nodded their heads at his calmness and highly confident words.

Maxmillan who listened to the words that left everyone's mouth using his superhuman sense of hearing, broke a smile in his face and said internally, 'This Laniarr guy is really cool. But it's a pity I would still have to steal the ancestral magical artifacts on you.'

Roaaaaaarrrr!!!

The cave they were in suddenly shook really hard when a really powerful roar abruptly rang out from far within a cave that was many dozens of caves away from where they presently were.

"Guys, ready your magical blades, swords and bows!! A powerful Astra Ruler Beast is headed our way!!" Laniarr screamed out with great urgency and absolute wariness in his tone.
