Chapter 54 - Revelation

Chapter 54 - Revelation

"Time to clear this place." Maxmillan said and teleported to the place where the headless corpses of Astra Spellcraft Commanders were completely immobilized by flame-impervious and plasma-resistant, mobility-restricting super-strong foams.

Once he appeared there and looked around at the headless corpses that seemed to be wrapped up in thick gigantic webs that were spun around them a seemingly uncountable number of times, he produced the Miniature Shockwave Arc Cannon that fired off barrages of Super-Devastator Waves which rapidly reduced the foams and the dead bodies restrained by them to countlessly numbered, really tiny pieces.

After rapidly unleashing volleys upon volleys of Super-Devastator Waves at the foams, with the whole place clearing up but the topography of the land completely destroying, Maxmillan returned the Arc Cannon to the inventory and immediately headed home, before his elder sisters or mother would start looking for him and wonder where he had gone off to if they didn't find him in his room.

Once he got home and skillfully sneaked into his room using his powerful superhuman senses that greatly assisted him in evading his mom and sisters that were walking about in the house, he heaved a long sigh of relief and produced a certain gaze in his eyes the moment he arrived in his room.

"Now that I have managed the threat of Lurrein, I can rest easy." Maxmillan said and exhaled a deeply relieving breath of air.

Although he understood the mission of 'Thug Extermination' and 'City-wide Purge' were still pending, he would definitely attend to them very soon. But right now, he needed to rest, as he had been engaged in one battle to the other.

Knock!

A knock was suddenly heard on the door and brought Maxmillan out of his restful state.

"Come in." Maxmillan immediately said.

Then the door opened to reveal Maxmillan's mom, Lenna who walked with a certain smile in her face.

She sat on the bed close to her son and said with a certain look in her face, "Maxmillan, I was aware when you left home to kill the Astra Spellcraft Commanders that protected a particular boy that was possibly heading in the direction of our home to make trouble for us. Although I can't say who he really is, but I believe he must be that guy that you snatched the land from to irreversibly make ours."

"Well done, son. Thank you for thinking of your family first. You are a really wonderful person. I don't know what I did to deserve a good, compassionate, fierce and bold son as you." Lenna said with a grateful look appearing in her face before sweetly kissing Maxmillan's forehead.

She then said further with an inexplicable look appearing in her eyes, "Do you want to know why I left spellcasting?"

Maxmillan who was shocked to the extreme that his mom still knew that he left home to slay Lurrein's men, became more surprised at her statement and hurriedly nodded his head before his mom would really change her mind.

"Your dad and I, were once Astra Spellcraft Lords. We weren't the average-level or high-level common casters that you see us to be. We were really powerful. But our families were seriously against our union back then. They didn't want us to be together, except when they were dead, which you know is basically impossible since Astra Spellcraft Lords are basically Immortals. Or until we killed them ourselves, which is also impossible because they were many times stronger and powerful than us." Lenna softly said, while Maxmillan's brightly gleaming eyes shone with ceaseless great shock.

"S-So, what happened?" He asked in a stuttering manner as his mind was still trying to find its way out of the exceedingly shocked state that it was taken into by his mom's absolutely astounding statement.

"After seeing how stubbornly persistent we were, your father's family had to disown your father and used a certain, really powerful magic-suppression and repression skill to destroy his vastly-accumulated operative knowledge of Astra Mystralis-circulating spells and enchantments."

"So, they turned him from a Seventeenth layer, Ascension Accomplishment stage, Low Ascension Earth tier-Astra Spellcraft Lord to an ordinary average-level caster of Astra Mystralis."

"He had it worst than me, since I was reduced from my Nineteenth layer, Ascension Accomplishment stage, High Ascension Earth tier-Astra Spellcraft Lord to a strong, high-level caster of Astra Mystralis with spellweaving skills that was nearly on par with a Second layer, Common Achievement stage, Mortal tier-Astra Spellcraft Commander." Lenna said with great sorrow in her face.

Seeing how depressed his mom was, Maxmillan felt angry, bitter, sad and vengefully wrathful. He just didn't know how to feel at that moment, as many negative surging emotions were rushing into his mind upon seeing his mother in a really forlorn state that affected his mind.

Actually, apart from trying to grow exceedingly strong and powerful, he had been working really hard for his mom's safety, delight and happiness, only to feel like he hadn't really done anything of great substance to either of them. He felt tremendously pained and exceedingly indignant within himself.

"Mom." He said as he took her hand in his and held it tightly.

"I assure you that everything will turn out fine. I promise you." Maxmillan said, while Lenna nodded her head with a smile in her face. But it wasn't enough to erase the broad morose expression in her face.

"But mom, what happened? Why don't your two families want to see you guys together?" Maxmillan asked with a deeply curious look appearing in his face.

"Our families stay in the same region and are extremely competitive of one another. In fact, they are bitter, envious and adversarial rivals of one another, as one family is always trying its best to outdo the other."

"Over time, more geniuses appeared in my family and caused your dad's family to lose face everywhere they went, resulting in great, unceasing hatred that they even planned without your dad's knowledge to exterminate me at a special event that I went to with him."

"I am just thankful of my superior sense of danger perceptiveness and my ominous-intent sensory ability that would make my skin crawl and sting in alarm, and won't stop until I am out of wherever I entered into. If not for those two warning innate abilities of mine, your mother would be long dead by now and completely forgotten." Lenna said and laughed, feeling amused.

While Maxmillan who heard all that she said, couldn't help but feel a limitlessly great anger erupt from within him.

"Why would my dad's family want to do that to you?" Maxmillan asked in anger.

He then said to his mother with a certain expression in his face, "Why did you choose to tell me this, mom?"

"I told you... So that you won't look down on your mom that your mom is weak-willed and is a really lazy person that just want to leave a normal, unexciting and uneventful life till her old age before dying off in her sleep."

"Actually, I have been meaning to tell you, but I didn't want to do so. Feeling that it wasn't that important to you. I just didn't want to tell you irrelevant things about my life that could possibly bother you a lot and stop you from focusing on achieving whatever goals and objectives that you have in mind."

"But after seeing you tonight, how you kept summoning different types of weapons to your hands which you used to fight the adversarial opponents that faced you in battle and wanted nothing but your death, I chose to tell you to make you understand where your dad and I are from. I wanted you to be proud of us, even though we are now fading shadows of our former illustrious and grand selves." Lenna said while Maxmillan shook his head in total disagreement to what she said.

"Mom, there is really nothing bad in living an unexciting and uneventful life. Many want to stay away from where there is constant drama, chaos and mayhem and just live a soft, calm and serene life till their old age. Secondly, everything about you, no matter how funny or unnecessary it will sound, will always be important to me." Maxmillan said, still grabbing his mom's hand which he sweetly kissed.

"I am going to make sure that our two families pay for what they did to you and dad." Maxmillan said with great determination and unwavering resolve flashing like furious lightning arcs in the farthest depth of his sharply gazing eyes.

But just as he finished speaking, a message suddenly appeared in the holographic screen in his field of vision.
