Chapter 7: Perry

  Almost growling, I glared at Perry. Before that night at the omega feast, I've always thought my mate would be the only one who could ever save me.

I've always thought he'd be the one who would take me away from this slavery but no, he was the one who shattered all I ever believed about the mate bond and all the goddess's plans for me.

  I should have been Luna, but he gave that position to someone else. It should have been me but no, he had rejected me even before meeting me.

  And that's what brings up the next issue. If he doesn't want me, why hasn't he rejected me yet? It would be so much easier for me if he just rejects me and breaks the bond.

Yes, I will hurt but at least, I wouldn't have to feel those stabbing pains in my heart whenever he's touching Perry or addressing her as his Luna.

If he rejects me, I'll stop embarrassing myself by trying to convince him that we can work. I'll stop hurting myself by believing he would send Perry away and mark me.

I mean, the man even forbade me from telling anyone I was his mate, so why not just reject me and move on with his Perry?

  "Foolish woman. Are you gonna stand there waiting for me to take you to the kitchen? Come on, get out of here before I lose my temper!" Perry yelled.

  Not wanting to anger her, out of pure concern for my own body (because I don't want her beating me up so early in the morning), I scurried out of my room and went downstairs, heading straight for the kitchen.

  "Jade, you're here." An old omega, Esther, waved at me. She was one of the workers at the kitchen.

  "Don't smile at her, Esther, she's late." Another omega scowled. It was Jasmine.

  I turned to see Jasmine stirring some meat in the pan of hot oil.

  "Good morning to you too, Jasmine." I smiled reaching out to hug her from behind.

  Jasmine froze, then flinched, before her free hand swatted to push me away.

  Backing off, I laughed. It was usual for her to get angry at me and everyone around her and that's why it was always fun to annoy her. I loved annoying my precious Jasmine.

  "So, why are you here late? What took you so long?" Esther asked, out of concern for me. "And why does your voice sound like that?"

  I knew they would notice but I couldn't tell them straight to their faces that I woken up late because I had been f*cking the Alpha last night.

  Yes, you heard right. I had been sleeping with the Alpha. But not on my own accord. He didn't want me as a mate, but, he still had use for my body. I hated that I was his wh*re and many times I've tried to stop him but I always end up with bruises and black eyes.

  Just last night, he had forced me to drink a wolfsbane potion because I refused to blowjob him. He didn't even ask why I had refused. If he had asked, I would have told him about how his beloved Luna strangled me in the day time for staining her rug with my blood while she was beating me for no freaking reason. I would have told him how her blows to my neck had caused me a sore throat. And it was because of that sore throat that I couldn't give him his blowjob.

  Well, he didn't ask. He just assumed I was being stubborn so he forced me to drink wolfsbane as punishment. Then he stripped me and whipped me with his belt, some of the marks are still on my tush. And after that, he still had his way with me.

  "Yes, she does sound strange. Tell me you were out late in the night and now you've caught a cold." Jasmine said. Even though it sounded sarcastic, I knew she still cared for me.

  Sighing, I shook my head. "I wasn't out playing in the cold. I took my bath late in the night with cold water and you know how cold it gets at night. I guess that's where I got my sore throat from." I smoothly lied but it seemed they believed me.

  "I've warned you many times, Jade but you just don't listen." Esther scolded before passing me a tray containing the Alpha's food.

  "Take this to the table and set up his breakfast. Alpha Leo will be down in a few minutes, so hurry." She bid me and pushed me in the direction of the dining room.

  I had barely finished setting everything up when his intoxicating smell of lavender and peppermint wafted through my nose. I can't believe his scent still does things to me, when all I should be doing is hating him. As he descended, his heavy steps sounded on the stairs .

All my efforts to finish up fast so I wouldn't be here when he comes down went to waste because he was behind me in a minute.

"Alpha Leo." I bowed.

His eyes merely travelled down my body, probably assessing the marks he left on me through the sheer gown I was wearing.

"Perry said you disrespected her yesterday."

The cold accusation had me snapping my head to meet his dangerous gaze. "Alpha?"

"Don't act innocent, omega. She told me everything."

Cool, did she also tell you how she almost killed me with her claws on my neck?

"I didn't do anything to her." I defended.

"So, are you saying she was lying?" He asked me, his voice low and too calm.

I gulped. "Alpha..."

"You should be punished. No one disrespects my Luna."

'And I am your mate', I wanted to scream, but the words were forced back to my throat.

"I didn't disrespect her."

"Still insisting on your lies?" He stood up slowly.

"I don't tell lies."

"Not even with witnesses against you?" His question caught me off guard. What witnesses was he talking about?

"Little omega, will you be able to face the witnesses and still lie? Because they have told me everything. And how you tried to slap your own Luna."
