Chapter 35

"Sludge."

Muk shot a blob of poisonous liquid at dartrix

"Trailblaze."

Dartrix shot towards muk. As the sludge approached, he spun his body avoiding the attack and landed a kick on muk with his claw covered in grass energy. Using the impact of the attack, dartrix shot backwards, distancing himself from the muk that tried to grab him.

Dartrix who had now received a speed boost circled muk in air.

"Sludge."

With mud slap ineffective, muk used its only ranged move again. This time instead of a concentrated blob, the attack spread a little covering a large area.

"Aerial ace."

Dartrix flew away from the attack and once he was safe, bent his entire body to change his trajectory in order to collide with muk, causing muk to get pushed back a little.

"Leafage."

Dartrix flapped his wings to summon a large amount of leaves that wrapped around both pokemon, obscuring them from outside view. Dartrix was able to tell where within the leafage muk was.

"Body slam."

A layer of normal energy spread across muk's body, shielding it from any damage the leaves could deal to it.

"Fire." Daniel gave his command.

The leafage started to subside, indicating that dartrix wasn't using the move anymore. Muk could sense something coming at it at a high speed. Without hesitation, muk faced in the direction of the incoming attack and used its body slam to attack. The incoming thing turned out to be an elliptical projectile of grass energy that was strong enough to pierce the normal energy that surrounded muk, dealing some resisted damage.

Move- Seed bomb: A strong grass type physical move that does not make contact.

"Aeiral ace."

Dartrix that was now directly above muk, dove down while surrounded in flying energy and crashed into muk's back. The attack had knocked muk out.

Daniel was proud of this victory. Using leafage as a smokescreen to make dartrix play ninja against Koga's ace felt very satisfying.

Daniel happily accepted his 4th gym badge.

As he was leaving, he tried to see Koga's information

Koga for some reason had more information than some pokemon. Did that mean he could use pokemon moves? Also, what was energy integration? This was the second time he had see that after his dad's elemental rank golduck.

Suppressing the questions, he left the gym and went back to the pokemon center to plan ahead.

The next two gym matches would be a 3v3 against 3 powerful advance ranked pokemon. The remaining gyms were grass, psychic, fire and ground. Since the grass gym took challenges up to the 6th gym, Daniel had to follow a specific order.

He needed to take on the grass gym first before dartrix evolved to maintain the advantage of being a flying type. He then would go for the ground gym which would be a bit out of his way in the direction of his house. It would then be a short trip to Vermilion city here he could book a cruise to cinnabar city for the fire gym and finally by the time he took on the psychic gym in Saffron city, his pokemon would have been evolved. Except for pawmi, almost all his pokemon dealt with psychic types better after their evolution.

With a plan in mind, Daniel was ready to end his day. He looked out of the window taking in the view of Fuchsia city. This was the first time he was on his own. A sense of simultaneous loneliness, freedom, nervousness and excitement coursed through him.

He took out his phone to check on his classmates.

The student that planned to start his journey from Pallet town could not successfully pass the forest and had decided to quit his journey.

Rod had successfully beaten Misty and would head to the Vermilion city gym (electric).

Chris was in Celadon city and had started completing trainer tasks there for money and experience.

Dyson and Wendell's status were unknown.

With everything planned in his mind, Daniel went to sleep.
