Chapter 15 Don't touch me

Kairy groggily woke up. The last thing she remembered was the cocoon of water invading her senses and losing consciousness. Her vision is blurry and her head is spinning.

"The first one is already awake!" She hears in the distance or was it close. She didn't know nor care. "Ugh~." She groans while grabbing her head. The spinning of her mind slowly starts to subside.

Her blurry vision sees a man covered in metal armor walking up to her and reaching out his hand to her. Kairy snaps grabbing the wrist of the man's hands. She looks menacingly at the man's blurry face. "Don't touch me." She slowly says.

The man retracts his hand. "Understood. But for your information, what you are feeling right now is normal. Everyone feels this way with their first experience teleporting."

The words of the man almost didn't register in her mind, due to the spinning of her head. "Teleporting?"

The blurry figure of the man suddenly froze. Then stood up abruptly and hurriedly walk off. Kairy is too confused and stunned to react. 'What is his problem.' She closed her eyes to focus on recovering her senses.

It felt like an hour to Kairy but was actually 5 minutes in reality. She felt her mind clear up. But she still felt a stinging in the back of her mind. She opened her eyes again. This time she didn't have blurry vision.

What she sees shocks her to no small degree. In every direction she looks at, she finds rows and rows of people, neatly laid down exactly 1 meter apart. Two rows behind her a bit to the side, she spots a familiar figure.

The figure has a very big chest, muscular arms, and a roguish look. He has a full red beard and red hair. This man took in Kairy and her little sisters when they wandered around the streets of Los Angeles. This man brought fear to the undercity, the leader of the most feared Triad. The red Deamon.

"Dad!" Kairy wanted to run towards him but got held back by a golden film. She punched the film. You could see the shock reverberating throughout the film. Which shocked not just a few people that were assigned to watch the chosen.

The chosen shouldn't be even able to affect the film surrounding them. The film is created to hold them.

Then suddenly golden light descended from above. Kairy looked up to see the most beautiful woman she had ever seen to descent. Beautiful red hair and eyes. Flawless skin that radiated a golden light. A white dress that accentuates the golden and red colors.

6 red golden wings sprouted behind her. It almost felt blasphemous to look at the woman. Kairy stared at the Angel with her mouth wide open in awe. "Don't worry little girl, he isn't dead. He is just asleep. He will wake up eventually."

Kairy mindlessly nodded. Her mind did not even register the words. Uriel crossed the golden film floating before Kairy. "Can I?" Uriel stretched on hand out towards Kairy.

Kairy did not like strangers touching her. She hated it. The question from the woman didn't feel like a question at all, more like a mandate from heaven. If she declined the heavens would strike her down. So, feeling like she didn't have a choice, she nodded her head.

She clenched her eyes shut. Waiting for the hard touch of a stranger. The only people that were allowed to touch her were her little sisters and the man behind her, her foster father. The only people where their touch felt gentle and caring.

Uriel who saw Kairy flinch back and tightly shut her eyes, felt a little sad inside. She could imagine the hardships Kairy had to go through. Having natural purple hair and eyes will result in being cast out and shunned by other people.

Uriel touched Kairy's forehead. Kairy who expected the hard touch of a stranger almost burst into tears when she felt the actual touch. The touch felt comfortable, caring, and full of love. Kairy who grew up without a mom wondered if this is what it would feel like.

Uriel traced Kairy's forehead to the side of her head, gently caressing. She held Kairy's cheek. Kairy leaned into her hand, her face softened up and her lips had a little quiver. "You have fought a lot, your body is riddled with hidden injuries and scars."

A bright golden light lit up Uriel's palm.

Kairy had never felt this kind of caring love before from a simple touch and caress. Suddenly felt her body rapidly healing. She felt her body lighten and loosen up. This feeling snapped her out of her thoughts.

Kairy looked down at her hands. She felt power coursing through her body.

"Have you calmed down? I am going to explain when everyone has woken up." Uriel says caringly to Kairy.

Kairy just nods.

Uriel floats back upwards with a small smile on her face. Kairy looked at her receding back. She held the cheek that Uriel just held. When she couldn't see Uriel anymore, she sat down contemplating what just happened, waiting for everyone to wake up.

High up behind the walls of the massive room stood Jane and Adramalech next to each other, looking down at Kairy and Uriel interacting. Jane felt a multitude of gazed on her back.

Inside this observation room were a lot of youths. The youths were separated into two distinct groups. A small group of youths all had haughty expressions and an arrogant air surrounding them. All the others had either awkward, curious, indifferent, or just pure confused faces.

Adramalech noticed Jane looking behind. "They are all the children of the powers currently on earth, protecting it. The haughty ones are, what they call themselves, 'pure-blooded'. They call the others 'bastards', for they are born between one of their parents and a mortal from Earth."

Jane heard her father's explanation directly in her mind. She was confused about how that could be. "This is a simple technique. I imbue my words in my energy and send them directly towards you. This is the most simple form of silent communication. There is also a form of communicating with the soul, but that will be too overwhelming for you right now."

Again Jane heard her father's voice directly in her mind. Jane nodded to Adramalech.
