Chapter 24

It's Saturday morning and Daylon is getting ready for the pool party, he texts Bryan to meet him at the blue avenue so they could pick Debbie up and then head over to my place so we could all go together.

My phone wakes me up and I grab it,

[Daylon: we're coming over, directions?]

I groan loudly, I completely forgot.

[Me: I'll meet you guys there instead 😉]

And then I jump out of bed to get ready. I rush downstairs after 20 minutes with all my stuff in a little beach bag and enter the kitchen to kiss my aunt good morning,

"Morning Eris, where are you off to?" She pops some bread into the toaster,

"To a party, I'll be back late" I gulp down a glass of juice,

"Well okay, don't you want to eat first?" She asks with concern,

"No I'm fine, besides there will be food there so I can eat as much as I want" I look at the time, "bye aunt!" I kiss her again and rush out the door.

Lilac's house happens to be the biggest in town and it's also reputable for hosting the most spectacular parties by her parents, and I guess what Lilac is doing is no different.

"We have arrived!!" Daylon announces himself with blue swim trunks on and dives straight into the pool resulting in a big splash,

"Daylon!" Lilac swims over to him as he resurfaces and gives him a big hug,

"Happy to see me?" He gives her his best smile,

"Hell yeah! Race you!" She dives back into the water with her luxurious purple swimsuit that exposed her curves and Daylon follows after her.

"Come on Debbie, you can't stay in there forever!" Bryan was at the verge of poking his head in the changing room Debbie was in,

"I'm shy" she whimpers,

"You don't have to be. I'll close my eyes" he closes his eyes and waits for his girlfriend to show him how good she looked.

Debbie exits the Changing room in a sexy green bathing suit, "well?" She rubs her arms shyly, Bryan opens his eyes and becomes blind.

And dumb.

"Wow, damn!" He exclaims with his cheeks reddening and this was a major confidence boost for Debbie,

"Do I look good?" She could barely look him in the eye, she was smiling and blushing,

"Good?! Good Is an understatement, I've gotta show you off!!" He drags her to the pool area for a swim and a good time. They were so cute together.

They jump into the pool together laughing and smiling but Debbie couldn't help but wonder where I was. I always had a habit of showing up late to a party. And also making an entrance.

"Here" Lilac gives Daylon a glass cup filled with a drink and takes one for herself,

"Alcoholic?" He peers into the glass and sniffs it,

"Just a little, please!" She begs him tugging on his arm,

"Okay okay! You'll never change!" He says in between laughs and takes a sip out of it, "cool party by the way" he compliments,

"You know how I am, I don't settle for less" they both laugh at her statement, "I'm really glad you're enjoying it" she touches his arm with a gentle smile,

"Don't go all soft on me Lilac!" He jests, "in fact, this calls for an awesome pool picture!" He grabs his phone, collects her glass from her and drops it somewhere safe and pushes her into the pool.

She lands with a loud splash before she could say a word, she resurfaces and he's laughing at her, "why did you do that?!" She splashes water on him, he laughs and takes multiple pictures of her,

"For this silly!" He checks the photos with a satisfied smirk and shows her, a hand clamps around his leg and he's pulled into the water, he resurfaces and so does Bryan, he punches Bryan in the chest, "are you trying to kill me?"

"No man, take it easy. It's just a joke" he rubs the back of his head sheepishly,

"Joke huh?" With a smirk on Daylon's face he wages a water war against Bryan.

And he always wins at a water war.

I reach Lilac's house and see everyone having fun, I smile and slip into the changing room, I put on my black swimsuit and some shades. The sun was just blinding today.

I personally prefer to be out at night.

I exit and ruffle my hair a little, I spot Debbie sitting at the edge of the pool kicking the water with her feet, like she was waiting for someone. For me.

The music is blaring and I see the DJ sipping wine as he worked for our pleasure, I slip into the crowd unnoticed and grab some chips and dip. I stuff myself with food and go somewhere secluded to relax.

Inside the house away from the pool.

I reach a quiet living room and take a seat on the sofa, it was not uncommon for a house this big to have many living rooms and this was just one of them.

I throw my head back to relax and wait for my food to digest before entering the pool, after 30 minutes my head begins to throb for a reason I don't know. I open my eyes and a sudden aura fills the room, my breath becomes ragged and I couldn't focus much.

"Was there something in the food?" I ask myself but I wasn't feeling any sort of stomach ache and what was happening was actually familiar, it always happened right before I saw things.

My eyes dart to the center table and I see a black feather placed in the middle of it. My eyes widen and I slowly stride over to pick it, "Islana?" I compare it with the ones on my makeshift bracelet and it was a match, "does she follow me everywhere I go?" A small smile forms on my lips and I tuck the feather inside my swimsuit right beside my right breast.

I drop back to the sofa and surf the net on my phone, I take off the glasses and look for something interesting to read on the net but I find nothing. So I decide to go to my Instagram. I take a few selfies and fiddle with my phone,

"Hashtag pool party" I grin and hit the post button.

An hour and a half pass and I go outside for a swim. Daylon is with a couple of other boys talking about how cute some girls were and how hot some were.

Daylon begins to wonder where I was, he grabs his phone about to give me a call just when he saw an Instagram notification. He taps it and stays on the addictive social media platform for a while scrolling through pictures of his friends and family and other interests.

Then he sees my picture, only a headshot though. He grins and reacts on it,

"More than an hour ago? Then she's here" he looks around trying to spot my figure until he gets splashed in the face with water, "hey! You could be more careful!" He shouts at the body that dived into the pool with such force,

"Oh sorry, didn't see you there"

His eyes widen at the realisation that it was me, he scanned me like a PDF file converter and took a very long time to come back to his senses.

Whistles and snickers proceed from the mouth of other boys as I swam over to him, he crouches as I reach the edge of the pool,

"Didn't mean to get you all wet" I smirk at him and wink. He still couldn't remove his gaze from me,

"You didn't get me wet" he almost purrs, to him I was tickling a sensory nerve I shouldn't,

"I think we have to correct that" I drag him into the pool by the head and his friends make fun of him, he resurfaces and slicks his hair back,

"Okay so that's how we're going to play huh?" His eyes are playfully darting everywhere looking for me. He spots me on the edge of the pool sitting with my legs crossed pretending like nothing just happened.

He dives into the water planning some sort of surprise attack but when he resurfaces he is welcomed with my toes on his forehead,

"Don't you dare Daylon" I'm grinning and I using my toes to push his forehead repeatedly, he grabs my leg and places it on his shoulder,

"Then why did you start the fire Eris?" He is standing in the pool with my left leg on his left shoulder and the smirk on his face is mischievous, he is definitely planning something,

"Because I wanted to" I use my right toes to poke his nose and I laugh hysterically, it was like he was about to blow up. He lifts my leg and places it on his shoulder, "what are you doing?!" I am suspecting him.

He moves closer to me until my legs are comfortably bent on his shoulders, I feel his hand on my waist and before I could say stop I'm up in the air basically sitting on his head.

I scream and protest with a scared smile, "put me down Daylon!" I struggle and he smiles,

"Okay" and with that I'm thrown into the pool like a wrestling doll and everyone bellows with laughter. My head is out of water and slick my hair back with a laugh, he watches the movement of the water as it races down my body,

"Okay you got me!" I put my hands up in defeat and move more hair out of my face, he swims over to me and splashes me,

"I thought you wouldn't make it" I feel his arms around my waist and I roll my eyes,

"Don't start with me Mr Evans" I warn sternly,

"Come on Eris, don't ruin this for me" his smirk grows wider and he pulls me towards his body, "you look really good, where did you get the swimsuit?" He whispers into my ears,

"Amazon" I say out loud for others to hear, "I should've bought a pair for you, they have it in color blue. I'm sure you'll look gender bending sexy!" I joke and some girls laugh, he blushes out of embarrassment and rubs the tip of his nose,

"You hurt me all the time Eris" he pouts and I blow Raspberries at him until he picks me up again and threatens to dump me like he did before.

I wrap my arms and legs around his upper half, if I go he goes. He gives a signal to his friends and they take a few pictures,

"I like this position we're in Eris, we should do this more often" he props me up so I was saddled on his waist properly. I stare into his eyes and I'm lost, the emerald turns to blue after a blink and my breathing begins to hitch, "are you okay?" He senses my discomfort,

"I just need something to drink" my eyes dart around. He carries me to the edge and drops me, he climbs out of the pool and gets me some water,

"Here" he hands me the bottle and takes his spot beside me, "better?" He asks and I respond with a smile and a gentle nod,

"Where's Debbie?" I hadn't seen my sister anywhere,

"She's with Bryan somewhere quiet I'm sure" he smirks. Those two were up to something.
