Training Pokemon

For a while I have read over all the cut and paste concepts on the Pokemon world trying to make the host strong as well as his Pokemon using the gamer system. I understand it's a dangerous world and you want to give the MC extra plot Armour. I thought about this and realized that the host would rarely fight in matters that needed strength except in situations that dealt with Legendaries. If that becomes par for course though in the story. What's the point of making this a long term novel that deals with the growth of a character. I would've set this as a short novel that deals with an overpowered MC that one shots all situations that need it. Also I wish to point out that Pokémon have sentience. The world also has abundant food with berries being around and the things that happen in Pokedex's in the games, I'm gonna try to stay partially away from as this is rated at a rating lower than 18+. (That's mostly because I find cursing unnecessarily to be just plain bad etiquette. I can understand if it happens when something bad occurs and you can't control your mouth. But flippant use of them just to annoy people is just that. Annoying...) The original story is also about friendship, journeying, and finding a purpose in the world they're in with their friends. Sabrina, Dawn, and May deal with contests. While Ash, and Iris love battling. Brock even finds a purpose on his journey as a breeder fully going into the field instead of just pursuing it as a side hobby like before when he had to take care of his brothers. As such I find it, while not useless for writing. A complete disappointment and withdrawal from the nature of what this world represents. What with hope and friendship being these main parts, and if you're fighting every creature you meet into submission. How is it possible for you to truly bond beyond servant and subject. Another thing is inside this story I will not limit the host to having 6 Pokemon on his being. No this would only apply to gyms or competitions as these kinds of things would require a more formal structure. I have decided on a new idea for this system that instead focuses on the Pokemon themselves. This includes knowledge, buffs, items and so on. The system will be less of a RPG stat layout directly as this still exists. But the stats come from training with the other stuff like others would train in a real world. The exception being Buffs. He can also use the system to build a utopia for his Pokemon. He can even slow down the time inside to gain larger training time later on for specific species which grow slower like Ninetails or various Ghost Pokemon. Enough of this Synopsis and rant though and on to the story. Ps. It's obvious, but I don't own this image. So I take no credit for it. And if someone eventually would like to make an image for this story I will thank you. Sincerely. PPS: Comments help me keep my want to write. When I notice there's not a lot of comments. I second guess my writing, like a lot. Probably for a good reason as I know I like to over analyze things, and I KNOW that's gonna influence my writing. I can see it deeply ingrained. So if you guys like my style please comment.

Chapter 3-System Functions

Joke 2- What does a certain yellow Pokémon say before teleporting?

I watched as Ash ran towards the lab as fast as he could, charging first into Gary at the front gates. Ash tried to get through Gary's entourage as quickly as possible, but he was quickly stopped by his bragging. Gary had ended up coming before Ash and grabbing the expected Squirtle. Watching the boys' play I laughed uncontrollably. I also noticed the Professor hiding and observing them from behind a tree as well. While it admittedly looked like a stalker following two children; I knew it wasn't in bad faith. As we both watched Gary leave, Professor Oak went up to talk with Ash and invited him in. Following that, I pulled out my extra-large lunch I made the day before expecting that I wouldn't have time to eat at home.

As Ash came back out dragging his Pikachu by a rope, I stood up and walked farther back than necessary from the area so I wouldn't be shocked when Pikachu lost it. I chuckled watching as everything in the anime happened before me except with one large difference this time. I noticed after everything that Ash actually had injuries left from Pikachu's moves give or take, they were superficial, yet this enforced the idea in my mind that this was in fact actually happening in a real world and not fiction. Once more confirming the injuries to be superficial, I found myself grateful that I wasn't in some Chinese fanfic or Pokémon game version of Pokémon where all creatures hunted each other indiscriminately. I couldn't handle that kind of pressure in this new life of mine.

Still, it was pretty clear from this demonstration that Pokémon moves shouldn't be recklessly taken on by a human; I could understand this even better than before. There was no telling what kind of damage you could take from say a Scyther blade. The moves in the anime never showed the true extent of the possible damage a person could take. While I was pondering this, I noticed something peculiar Ash was healing at a faster rate than a normal human, yet the rest of the crowd that was affected still had their base injuries. It made me wonder something. Does aura make people heal faster? Is that why he was chosen as the Mc for the Pokémon series? Because he could heal faster from the dangers giving him a unique advantage with his stubborn attitude and his lack of common sense that allows him to tackle problems head on. Casting it aside as something else to think about once I had fully gotten settled into this world and started training. I walked off from the fun, after finishing my meal, to my old room in the orphanage.

According to my memories in this world those who reached the age of ten went on their Pokémon journeys. Likely it had something to do with most creatures having sanity and not just killing anything they saw moving. Who's to say by attacking this one Zubat that I don't have his whole family of Carlitos' coming after me. Pokémon obviously had more restraint when needed compared to wild animals. Not to say those probably existed in this world as well. I thought of orphans who went out into the wild like me without handpicked royal family Pokémon. Every orphan at the age of ten was probably forced to fend for themselves with a semi-wild caught Pokémon with each of them attempting to bond with each other.

Their lives, I realized with a bit of pity, would be dependent on their talents as well as the talent of the Pokémon they caught. Their lives would be on the line with a few species out there unintentionally causing their deaths, or a person might just not be able to gather basic resources to eat or drink. Wishing all the poor kids better luck in their travels, I gathered the things that I had already been prepared for my journey ahead of time including basic traveling cooking wares, clothes, and the cash that I had collected for future stops in other cities. Heading towards the forest, I stopped looking back only to hear a voice in my head once more. The same one from earlier plays a melodious tune from a video game I once recognized.

*Welcome Host To The Viridian Forest*

"What the...," I mumbled to myself only to be stopped when a screen popped into existence in front of me. The large map filled with only one colored in area labeled Pallet Town, showed where I had been to so far. On top of the screen are large bold words in the phrase "World Map". On the side of the map was a list labeled Career Paths, a section of the map dedicated to fulfilling missions on where I wanted to go if I had a certain path in mind for my life. As I stared at the screen trying not to let my jaw drop from this once more life changing revelation of my future potential and the things this would mean for me, I watched as a new larger dark green section grew into color on the map with a few land marks on it labeled Viridian Forest. On the map different key locations were displayed such as areas with which certain Pokémon I knew of would be common in the games. There was also some sort of hidden cave not talked about in the games or series listed in the forest. Unfortunately, since I didn't know what Pokémon would definitely be in it, I only had a list of suspected Pokémon pulling up for this area.

As quickly as the map had appeared it left me in a bit of wonder as I stared at my hands. I had a system, and in a world that didn't scream your immediately dead if you mess up, I had time to think on what I wanted to do with myself. Wondering If it would work, I stated, firmly hoping not to look like a retard aloud, "Status."

I had an Inventory the moment was a big one, suppressing my excitement I yelled out loud "Inventory."

PokéDollars: 2000

PokéPoints: 0

No other items. Only Items from the system or cash may be stored in the Inventory. *

Sighing in disappointment at having my dreams of being overpowered crushed by having an unlimited hammer space. I got the cash out of my bag and put it into the screen window hoping it would work. Luckily enough that was exactly what was needed. My money disappeared into the screen as the Pokédollars section grew giving me a grand total of 3000. I was honestly lucky getting a starting amount from the system as a gift. It would help me get settled into this life easier than completely being left alone in this world.

Testing the map, I watched as the wide one disappeared and appeared back and forth also switching to a mini version when I voiced, mini map instead. Honestly not being stuck to a single mini map or a large map like some systems gave their hosts brought a smile to my face. The feature was a lot more intuitive. I could also purchase information on various areas it seemed when I clicked on certain zones. Like what Pokémon lived there, the dominant species, what to be careful of, was it commonly hunted? I also Tested what the difference was between the Partner and Party function, yet the only difference that I had noticed was that it was a bit easier to get to the Partner Pokémon section with it having less buttons to click on compared to the party section. A sort of favoritism setting allowing for quick decisions with the system's support it seemed. Fair treatment for a Pokémon considered to be your life partner.

The final option, the shop sold lots of things such as strengthening pills for certain stats, lots of skills separated between me and my Pokémon in lists as well as manuals on how to learn certain moves and gain certain abilities. Finally finished going through the screens I wondered over why I had been chosen to reincarnate with this system. Was it merely because, I wished for a more realistic Pokémon game? Or... Was there something more?

1758 words woop.
