Surprise Boss?

William had sprinted to the Gremlack instantly, even if the creature had noticed him, it didn't matter as he had come crouched.

With all his might, William punched the leg of the Gremlack and ran forward leaving a few big spikes near the creature's shin.

It grunted and was moved back yet William had not wasted any of his time, he hit the calf of the creature with all his might, leaving a few more spikes there too.

He looked down on his hands for a second and saw the spikes regenerating within seconds, they grew and came out every time William broke them inside something.

The Gremlack stumbled a little in the process, the attacks were so sudden and fast that it didn't get a single moment to collect its thoughts.

William didn't stop, he was filled with confidence and positiveness now. He had found something that he wanted all this while and there was this drive to look for it again. It was the mana.

CLICK

Another arrow got fired at the Gremlack's shoulder, making it look back dumbly.

'Now.' William thought with urgency and attacked the other calf. The creature roared in anger, and in the process, it moved its hands without any reason.

"Woah!" William ducked the hand in time, his reflex and adrenaline at its best.

Looking at the legs of the creature now, William could see many spikes on it yet they still looked less in number with how big the leg below the knee was.

But the spikes were making the creature bleed.

2 minutes later,

William smacked his punch at the wounded feet of the creature, the already bloodied wound splattered with flesh and blood making some fall on William's face too.

The creature crouched down and William made some distance instinctively, looking at it now, William could see a lot of wounds accumulated around the legs and feet.

'I did quite a number on it…'

But he didn't feel overconfident at all, the upper body of the Gremlack was all fine aside from that one hit he got on its hand.

'This fight is so ridiculous' William couldn't help but chuckle awkwardly, the fight was prolonged with no means to end it.

This fight had made him realize that no matter how prepared he felt, there was still a gap in strength between the monsters that came and him.

William didn't lose a lot of stamina yet he was huffing a little, he had to run a lot and crouch at point blank sometimes which was taking a toll on his body.

But he could do nothing about it other than persist, the only advantage he had in this fight was speed.

The Gremlack was in a crouched position trying to take out as many spikes as it could.

Yet William saw an opportunity in even that, he was blessed that the creature seemed to have no battle experience and was a lot dumber than William would have guessed.

He dashed and reached the back of the creature, the first time he saw the neck of the creature close enough.

William did not think much and with gritted teeth, he ran again only to keep a feet on the back of the creature taking it as a propulsion for his body to reach the neck.

It was easy as he was used to doing this with the walls and the skin of the Gremlack had a good hold on his foot.

BANG!!

With all his might, William finally had a hit at the back of the creature's head leaving a lot more spikes in it than he had calculated. He had hit so hard that his hand had started to hurt too.

The Gremlack screamed crazily, it moved its arms to the head very fast smacking William in the process who had taken hold of the neck for support.

"UGH!" William fell to the ground and stumbled before he could fall properly.

He strained his leg in the process but William still looked back with DESPERATION.

The Gremlack couldn't even look at William and the defense bot that had hit it one more time.

The back of its head had spikes that it tried to take out yet when it was able to take one out, the creature's eyes rolled back. William looked at it with dumbfoundedness.

Its eyes were rolled for a few seconds and finally, it started moving back and finally fell with a big thud on the ground.

[+50 Tower points]

Willaim fell down completely and stretched his leg desperately as much as he could, it was a big cramp.

It took a few minutes of struggle before he finally got relieved from the cramp.

William tried to get up yet it was as if all the energy was lost.

'All that running around took a toll on my body…'

Another few messages came from the object in his hand.

William looked at the creature again trying to confirm one more time as to whether it had died or not.

Even the messages of the tower points could not stop the paranoia.

"Oh shit!" William couldn't help but get up in excitement, not only were the rewards very good, but it seemed he had a lot of time before the next wave started.

'But this was a boss fight, why didn't this fucker tell me before it started.' William felt a little weird while looking at the hologram. It seemed as if the object in his hand was playing with William and the others.

At the thought of the others, William first switched the world chat on after checking if there was something new he should know about.

There were going to be exactly 20 people in the ranking who were going to be given the privilege of asking some questions, important ones at that.
