William panicked, he was feeling frustrated because what he thought about the corpse sounded somewhat right.

There was no food supply in the tower and outside it was literally nothing.

 Not much was known about the fog aside from how only the dumbest existences in the whole universe would consider even going inside it.

TING! TING!

"Motherfucker…" William grimaced further finally irritated enough from all the notifications.

He clicked on the button after restraining the urge to just smack the button with a slap just like the rat.

[Tower_TOM: I actually survived bro! Are you done with that small rat?]

[Tower_TOM: My sword just cut the thing in two pieces and swinging it around felt so cool!]

[Tower_TOM: Bro? You done with it?]

[Tower_TOM: …]

====

William chuckled reading how Tom was too panicking in his own way. He decided to not message the guy for a few more minutes to tease him.

For the time being, William went to the world chat where things were quite chaotic like usual.

He just rested his arm on his lap while the hologram showed him the chats at high speed.

He looked for an option to slow the chat down but there were none aside from one feature where if he clicked on the chat, it would stop and then William could just scroll up and down at his own pace.

This feature too was shit but better than having no measure to slow the chat down.

William read all about people finishing the wave in a matter of seconds with their weapons.

 Some even boasted that they killed the thing by ripping it apart with their hands yet William couldn't believe him, rather, his pride wouldn't let him.

'Food?' William read the first message about food and grimaced further.

'He got a bread through the gift? So was I supposed to get food from the gift and not the corpse? Why didn't I get it then?'

William calmed himself and read further, he knew that while he thought about all this, others would have started typing about how they got something else rather than food if it was the same case with them just like William.

'There!'

Another had written about how he got a piece of cooked meat piece that did not look normal. He was disgusted by the thing.

William cursed the gods for not giving him that piece of meat. He knew how to survive.

'I was even ready to eat that rat… gosh I am so unlucky.'

The wave was about four and a half hours later and William wanted to be completely ready this time.

He looked at his system in which his stats were increased. He couldn't feel any changes in his body but if they were showing, William was ready to believe it.

======

+3 strength - 0.90 Vitality (30 minute duration and 10 minute cooldown)

Thorn Punch- 1.5 Vitality (10 minute duration and 5 minute cooldown

Weakness locater sense- 2 Vitality (1 hour duration and 2 hour cooldown)

======

'This +3 in strength feels incomplete… I don't know how strong this can get me and only for 30 minutes? Feels scammy. Let's see…'

'Thorn Punch seems cool but I will have to go fight very close if I use it and it takes 1.5 points of vitality. Expensive.'

The weakness locater was totally ignored by William as he didn't want to use it, his vitality had increased yet not enough to give two points in one go.

He went to the world chat again and read what he could to gain any Intel he could get as soon as possible.

An hour later…

William looked at the time remaining and frowned.

'So addictive, I gave 1 hour of my life to it and got nothing…' William didn't close the hologram and kept note of the chat, he had nothing else to do anyway.

William thought of his options, this rat was not dangerous at all. But if that poison had hit even an inch of his body, then it could have gone ugly.

'If only there were any defenses here…' he looked out of the tower and didn't look happy, there was no cover at all other than the tower itself.

Suddenly, William got up, his eyes wide while looking at the land with craziness.

"No way…"

He got out of the tower and looked at the very plain land. It looked to be very solid which hindered William's plans but he persisted with it.

He crouched down and tried taking out the dirt-compressed land.

His fingers scraped at the dried soil and this made him sure that the land was compressed a lot, just like soil back on Earth.

 He placed some pressure this time around and some of the dirt scraped from the land.

"Na… can't happen. Me and my shitty luck." William said to himself in order to keep calm and not scream around in anger.

He had planned to dig a hole with his hands in order not to let these creatures just run and come to him.

 If it was a rat then it would have to jump from afar in order to actually reach William which would in turn help him smack them more efficiently and safely.

He had time for it, about four hours yet the land was just too dry and seemed to be compressed a lot, taking the dirt out was possible but not with only one labor, four hours, and no tools.

William racked his brain while looking at the shenanigans going on in the world chat. Another notification made him switch to the 100km chat.

====

[Tower_TOM: Are you okay, brother? It's been such a long time.]

====

William thought that it was dear time to just talk with the guy. He didn't know why he hadn't just message him an hour ago.

====

[Tower_William: Sorry, was busy with some stuff. So, how was the raid? What rank did you get?]

[Tower_TOM: Brother! You are alive! Thank god, as for the raid, it went very good, it was easy. My rank was in around 200,000th something. How about you? Are you okay?]

====

After reading his rank, William wanted to just throw himself in the fog for being so useless.
