Chapter 18: Just a Crush
Gemma laughed and tried to walk away from Kit - her heart racing in panic. "I never keep secrets from you - you're like a bloodhound.
Kit grabbed Gemma's wrist and dragged her back with a concerned look on her face. "Come on, Gem. Don't play dumb - there's definitely something going on there."
Gemma sighed and bit her bottom lip guiltily; her stomach turning. "I know there is but this is as far as it's gone."
Kit let go of Gemma's wrist and studied her face for a few moments, looking for any indication that Gemma was lying. After a minute, she nodded - satisfied that Gemma was telling the truth.
"Let's go," Kit sighed before resuming her walk toward The Asterix, following in Blaze's footsteps.
Gemma followed after Kit with a little disbelieving laugh. "That's it? No further questions?"
Kit rolled her eyes and kept walking, glancing to the side to make sure Gemma was still walking with her. "You're not having an affair, right?"
