Endless waves of murmured chatters entered their ears the moment they stepped out of the room. Two small hands tightened their grip on each of Kimberly’s hands. She looked down and gave her children a reassuring smile. They shouldn’t be scared. It’s their day.
“Loosen up, boys.” Kimberly flashed out her signature grin. “It will be fun!”
“I just hope that no one causes a fuss later,” Kimberly heard her mother grumbling on her back. She turned her head to laugh at her words. Harley still looks dignified and calm despite her complaining tone. “I will really bash their hea---I will really kick them out, even if I’m not the owner of this… Ridiculous house.”
“Ditto.” Kimberly simply replied.
Like Kimberly is, the three were wearing clothes appropriate for the party of the rich. Harley was wearing a dress laced with gems and pearls. Both she and her mother had pearl necklaces on their neck that strangely felt heavy. Maybe because of the price of ten thousand or more US dollars.
