Acceptance

The night was without the cloud without any pollution. The sky looked so beautiful with start shining.

The fire was made to keep warm. Cecilia and Curtis had just layed on the bed to sleep.

Cecilia had many thoughts about how she was gonna start saying.

"Curtis, you go to hibernation in the cold season right? " she started as she looked at Curtis's face as she could look for any change.

"Umm, yes" Curtis said as he looked at her with love filled gaze.

"...Who is gonna look after me if you hibernate? " Cecilia said in a lower voice than before.

"I will close the cave after securing enough water and meat and you have to stay inside until I wake up." Curtis said as he looked at her no smile can be found. He was serious.

" But I need the sun. You know I need sunlight and a good environment. Otherwise, I might have some problems with mental and physical health." Cecilia said as she looked at him. She was really speaking the truth she cannot stay in a dark environment for months without any interaction she could probably have mental issues or go mad talking to herself. Mental health then could affect her physical health soon enough.

Curtis didn't say anything he knew he saw many females going crazy from the memory he had inherited.

Seeing Curtis's silence she knew he knew that fact too.

" I want to be free and live a long life with you together always till the end." Cecilia said as she still looked at Curtis carefully after pausing for a while she started talking.

"Do you think I should take another mate for us? For me?" Cecilia said waiting for his answer with nervousness.

After a while, Curtis nodded and said yes in a low voice.

Cecilia was happy and hugged him as she buried her face in his neck.

But she missed the expression on Curtis's face. She calculated wrong. What she didn't realize was that she nearly died.

As soon as Cecilia hugged him Curtis's eyes darkened and his face was angry, sad and many things mixed.

Curtis had many memories. He was much older than her physically more so mentally.

He had experienced an identity crisis about who he is his father or Curtis. He had seen how his mother died and what his father experienced.

What he didn't tell was most snake beast men eat their mate as the cold season begins to not experience the loss of their mate so to be together forever after eating rarely some hibernate as most kill themselves.

Many factors helped Cecilia survive one of the important factors was the placement on the mark.

After Cecilia calm down she again looked at Curtis. He was looking at Cecilia gently as he slowly stroke Cecilia's cheek.

Curtis hugged Cecilia as his face rested on her chest where his mark is.

After a while, both fell asleep.
