Kisses and heartbreak

A glorious wave of heat rushed through me as William took over the kiss. His lips moved expertly against mine, making a delicious heat surge between my legs.

God, no one has ever made me feel such intensity of desire and lust.

Oh Brittany needs to barge in and catch her fiancé giving me pleasure.

But Brittany never came. I heard her still calling out William's name. It seems no one knows William comes in here to play the piano secretly including Brittany.

I wish she could just shut the fuck up so William and I could enjoy this pleasurable moment in peace.

Suddenly William abruptly drags his lips away, ejecting himself off me like a plaque.

"Fuck" He cursed. He turned back to me as he digs his fingers into his sandy blonde hair in frustration.

I grit my teeth in pain, trying one more time to upraise myself on my feet.

William heard me groan. He offered a hand and helped me back on my feet.

I got to see my doctor for a check-up. This fall might have further caused damage to my injured leg.

"Thanks," I smiled at him but my smile suddenly twinge into a frown.

The charming William I know isn't the one staring at me. He is being replaced with a different William with a cold look smeared on his face.

"You shouldn't have done that, Adeline." He says in a stern tone I have never seen him use to before.

"William I…."

He walked out on me, leaving me reeling with despair.

I touch my lips and sigh.

I maybe have just ruined everything! I panicked as tears rush into my eyes.

He didn't want the kiss. But he kissed me back!

"William," I run out of the room to go after him despite the pain bearing down on my injured leg.

"I am sor…." The words choke back in my throat and I rigid up at the spot where I stood.

William is kissing Brittany after just kissing me a moment ago!

I closed my eyes praying it was just my imagination.

I flip my eyes open again and he was still kissing Brittany breaking my heart once more.

I balled my fist angrily as my eyes burned with so much hatred for Brittany.

I cleared my throat to get their attention.

They broke off the kiss, noticing my presence.

William's eyes fell on me. And we share a long stare which got Brittany's attention as she looks back and forth between us.

He quickly pulls his eyes away and stares down at his feet. His hands duck inside his pocket.

A burning wave spike my tummy, and I couldn't help but grimace at his reaction.

"Hey Adeline, is everything okay?" Brittany asks with concern.

"Yup, if you want to know I am okay seeing you making out with your fiancé. That was quite the show," I say lightly, and pretentiously. Beneath my tone, was a fit of boiling anger. Brittany being so oblivious didn't pick up that but William did. He threw me a sharp look.

I smirked at him, shooting a gaze at him daring him to look at me but he never did. His eyes were still avoiding me like a plaque.

I look away from him and switch my gaze to my sister. "What are you doing here anyway," I asked with annoyance.

Brittany grins. "I just can't be away from my fiancé ." she laid her head on William's chest. Her hand runs over his broad chest.

My eyes burn down that hand she has on William's chest wishing my eyes were lasers so I could destroy her filthy hand.

I might melt down into a pudding due to the rage circulating in my blood.

"Looks like everyone is here now," I say, looking at the stage. The whole orchestra was on stage.

"Baby, your man got to go do his job," William said sweetly to Brittany, making me feel like gagging out a bitter lump in my throat.

He kissed her. "Are you sure you won't get bored watching me do the most boring job in the orchestra.? "He asked her.

Brittany shakes her head. "Stop downplaying your job. Without you, the orchestra can't play harmoniously well. You are the head of the orchestra. That makes you important"

I rolled my eyes. She has no fucking idea all William wants is to get behind the piano and compose music and not conduct the orchestra.

She is so not right for him. I am.

"The orchestra is waiting William," I remind him.

"Alright," He says without sparing me a look.

"I will take the lead," I walked past him and intentionally brush my arm against his. And that small touch made sparkle fly through my body like a bolt of electricity.

He went stiff. I bet he wanted to turn to look at me but can't because of my bitch of a sister.

Everyone was already stationed at their rightful seat when I joined them.

I felt a wave of thrilling excitement as I sat down at the seat reserved for the principal violinist. The second most important person in the orchestra.

What an achievement.

My violin might be broken when it flew out of my hand due to the fall. I guess I will play the violin offered by the orchestra.

"Thank you," I say to one of the violinists who just hand over a violin and a bow to me.

My eyes run over the music notes lying on the wooden stand.

I have already mastered the notes to perfection. And mastered the tempo at which I could play.

William joined and got rooted on the podium.

And we are just a few steps apart

His eyes found mine, and the world disappears around us. My lips run dry. William's eyes glistened with desire as I run my tongue over my lips to moisten them.

I smirked at his reaction. I want me. I could see it in his eyes. I could feel it when his lips moved against mine a moment ago.

"William, is everything alright?" Brittany asked. She was sitting on a seat at the front roll.

William's eyes blink, breaking the daze spell he was entrapped in as he diverts his eyes from me to Brittany.

"I am fine." He replied to her.

My lips quiver in anger. Is Brittany going to be here for every rehearsal? Destroying every progress I make with William.

I glared in her direction. She shoots me a smile, clueless about how much I hate her right now.

I wish she could just disappear.

William cleared his throat. "Sorry for keeping you waiting." He apologizes to the orchestra.

He shoots me a brief look and looks away quickly.

Every eye contact with him leaves my breath ragged in my lungs.

William signals with his hands alerting us.

I took in a deep breath and pinned the violin and the bow under my chin.

The orchestra started playing in harmony following William's hand gestures which is guiding has to master the music score.

I never once fumble with the notes. I churned the anger boiling in me and channel it into the energy and passion I am using to play.

We played countless times still everyone mastered the music piece.

The rehearsal came to a close end.

I saw the admirable looks everyone was glancing in my direction. They were all impressed by my performance.

But the only person I was eagerly waiting for his remarks was with my sister.

William immediately went to Brittany to my despair.

"So Brittany is your sister, wow that's quite shocking. You look nothing alike."

I stiffened in my seat as my eyes fell on the red hair bitch called Naomi.

"What are you doing here?"

She smirked and slip into the seat beside me.

"I came to watch you play."

I scoffed. "Did you enjoy watching me play better than you, Naomi. It seems no one in the orchestra has missed you. You could tell from the look on their faces they were glad you quit and I took over your position. I am so much better than you." I finished off with a smirk.

The smirk on her face flattened.

"When I changed our life around by making you half a million rich. The agreement was I shouldn't see your face here" I sneer at her.

"Point of correction. The agreement was. You could have my job. It's a free world, Adeline. I can visit the theater anytime I want."

"Fine, you can choose to do whatever you want. But stay out of my way, Naomi." I say in a threatening tone.

"They look so good together, don't they?"

My eyes sharply averted to look at William and Brittany laughing.

My chest spike with pain and fury.

"You are wasting your time Adeline, You are not the one William want. That's Brittany." She mocks me.

"Fuck off, Naomi," I hissed at her.

She laughs and thrust her hands in defense.

"Fine I will get out of your hair but just know this. You can never be as pretty as your sister, darling. William likes beautiful, striking women. Of course, you are beautiful but you are not beautiful enough for him to choose you over Brittany." She snickers hitting where it hurt the most.

My heart burn with so much disdain and bitterness as angry tears hit my eyes.
