10. A warm conversation

After talking to Luna about Jay. Jay insisted to come with me for a while. He said to her mother that he has something to talk about with me.

I am standing outside the house waiting for him. I will return to my office after we are done talking, I have enough time on my hands. I thought that Luna and I will end up fighting today and after a long argument today I have to come back tomorrow.

But she is indeed a Luna, despite her hatred for me she knows what is good for her son, and broadly speaking she does stand against me but her defiance always gives me a different angle to think of a situation. But the problem is she denies whatever I do.

Even though she was a stepmother to me but I always respected her as Luna and as my father's second chance mate she too accepted the two of us as her children when she found my father the former Alpha to be her mate. Our paths were parallel, we two started to diverge when I stood up to become an Alpha.

"Hyung!", Jay's voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

He came to me running.

"Let's go, I will escort you home.", Jay said joyfully.

"I will be going to my office first."

"Then, I will take you to your office.", a little smile formed on my face.

His mood is quite uplifted after Luna allowed him, I guess even he wasn't expecting that much from her.

"What do you have to say?", after walking out a few steps from his house I started the conversation.

"Hmm! that."

I stopped and turned toward him.

"Actually, I just want to walk with you. It's been a long time since we walked like that and spend time together.", Jay said to keep going on the street.

It felt like he was about to say something but didn't. I don't want to push him to tell me if he didn't want to.

I went behind him.

"Even if we don't meet for a day or two you can always come to me if you have something to say or something is troubling you.", I hope he isn't going through a difficult situation by himself and struggling to decide whether to tell me or not.

He stopped walking and looked at me, seeing him I also stopped beside him.

"Hyung! Can I come to you only when I have something to tell you or ask something from you?", he said in a serious tone.

I could feel the depth of his words.

But I didn't mean it like that.

"No.", I said softly, I don't want him to interpret it wrongly.

"You do not need a reason to see me, you can always come to me whenever you want and whenever you can. I will be always there for you.", I said patting the back of his head slightly with my hand rubbing his hair.

He smiled at me warmly. He always smiles whenever he sees me but this smile was something else. I guess my little brother isn't grown that much.

"Hyung, Can I come anytime to your office?", Jay said smiling at me.

"You can but you have to wait if I were in a meeting or something."

"Will you meet me even if the other thing is important?"

"Jay remembers one thing you are the most important person I have in my life, my only family.", I said cupping his cheek with my hand. I sai

Maybe this is after a long time when I held him like that, there isn't any baby fat on his cheek like before. He used to have chubby cheeks, but now his cheeks are all sunken.

"Hyung! I promise you, instead of becoming your liability I will become your strength. I will become someone you can rely on.", He said loudly.

"For sure. You have to become my best soldier.", I said.

After that Jay walked me to my office and went back from there, the sun is already down.

I went in after I saw him leaving.

I still have work remaining to do and then I will have to go out to check on the patrolling team, I think I can leave on time today.
