Chapter 14: The New Members

The time travel case of Maia can be ome huge fatal problem for the rest of us.

We certainly don't know the cause of her time travel.

The only thing that came to my mind is that he is killed by people who time travelled, maybe she's got badly affected by it because it is altering the timeline.

Or maybe the timeline is preventing her death also, because it has never happened before in the original timeline, it looks like it's paving it's way to solve it's own dilemma.

Whatever the reason, this must be fixed urgently.

"We all need to meet up, we have a huge problem, I need y'all here" I messaged every one of them.

I also texted them the time and place.

I also thought of tagging Maia along on the meeting.

She may not be well knowledgeable in the concept of time travel, I'm pretty sure that she can be a huge help.

Also, I feel like we are the one to blame on what happened to her, because we started these thing off ourselves, we must bear the responsibility to fix this.

I quickly drove to Maia's place and visited her, I need to inform her that I'm going to introduce her to the group.

When I arrived in her place, I rang the door bell twice.

Her mother opened the door for me.

"Good morning, nice to see you again, I'm here to pick up Maia, may I see her?" I asked.

"Ahm, who are you?" she replied.

Oh, this sucks, I have forgotten already that I'm from the future, and in this timeline we are not even dating.

Of course her mother wouldn't even know me.

"Oh, sorry for the rudeness, I think I should introduce myself. My name's Amiel, I'm one of her groupmate in a certain school activity. We both agreed that I will pick her up" I said.

Of course it was a complete lie, but what should I say in this type of situation? I'm absolutely clueless.

"Okay, come in, let me just go and call her up" she said.

As I entered their house, it felt really nostalgic. I used to stay here for countless hours, this place has tons of memories for the both of us.

"Maia! One of you classmates is here, he said he's going to pick you up for your group project" she said.

"What? Who was it?" Maia replied.

"I think the name's Amiel" her mother said.

"Wha-a-a-t?" she shouted.

After that, she step outside of her room and goes to the living room, to the place where I am located.

"I don't expect you to be here, is there a problem?" she whispered.

"Oh, sorry about that, I completely forgotten that we have a group activity. Haha haha" she said.

It seems like she's tryin' to foon her mother. That's really a hilarious scene to witness.

"So? Where are we going?" she asked.

"I'm going to introduce you to my team, maybe they can also help us to determine what's happening to you. We may be able to time travel, but we did it consciously, while on the other hand, you just got here randomly, maybe you got affected by us, we are all here to fix this" I said.

"We're going to go right now?" she asked.

"Yes, an hour from now" I replied.

"Good, that's enough time for me to get myself ready" she said.

"Mom! I will just get ready, can you please get Amiel some foods? I'm just in a hurry. Love yah, mom!" she said this to her mother sarcastically.

It took her a long time to fix herself, I guess I should have come here a little bit earlier.

"Finally, you're done" I told her.

"You just got here all of a sudden, don't expect me to be ready just in time, duh" she said.

"Mom! We'll get going! I'll be back later!" she shouted.

"Okay, take care and stay safe" her mother replied.

After that, we drove to one of Dr. Reece place.

He is very accomplished man in this time, so he has spare place for us to crash in when we are conducting meetings and such.

We need to be careful most of the times, a simple hint that we are not from this timeline can put us in danger. A place like this can make us feel very secured.

As I entered the room, I saw Professor Reginald inside.

"Oh, Professor!" I shouted.

"Ahaha. Amiel! I haven't seen you in a while, sorry I didn't showed up the last time you three saw each other, I was still confused and baffled back then" he said.

"No worries Professor, as long as you're safe and sound, it's fine" I replied.

"So, we can now proceed to the meeting, now that everyone is here" Dr. Reece said.

"Oh, by the way, we have a major problem" I said.

"What is it?" all of the people in the room asked.

As soon as they have asked that, Maia entered the room.

"It was me" she said.

"Whatever the reason, whatever the method, I am not actually sure, but Maia managed to travel here in this timeline. Same as us, only her concsiousness is the only thing that have travelled in the past.

It is a real mystery for us" I said.

"What was the last thing that you can remember?" asked by Glady.

"The last thing that I can remember is that I got killed by some random stranger" Maia replied.

"And that random stranger are people from the UN" I said.

"So it is possible that she got affected because the UN altered the timeline?" Professor Reginald said.

"But it is also possible that her exposure to Amiel is that main reason why she travelled back in time. She also got a lot of exposure with Amiel, which can cause a lot of alteration in the timeline" Dr. Reece said.

"So maybe it is safe to assume that she got affected by us and also got affected by the wormhole that we created when we travelled here, it seems like the timeline is fixing itself" added Glady.

"Just to inform you, your life must be in danger right now, if the people from the UN discovered that you actually managed to time travel, they'll be after you.

If you are aware of this, are you ready to face whatever comes in your way as of now?" Dr. Reece seriously asked.

"Yes, I am ready to face those challenges. I'm also aware that I might be in danger right now" Maia replied.

"Then are you willing to stick with us until we fixed the timeline?" Dr. Reece asked.

"Yes, I am" Maia replied.

"Look, people. She may not look like it, but she can be a useful asset to us, also we need to build up our force in order to battle those peophe from the UN. Amiel's girlfriend can be a huge help" Dr. Reece.

"Okay, so that's it, we'll welcome Maia as on of our own. From now on, you are part of us" Professor Reginald said.

"Some of you might be surprised, but we will welcome another people im this group.

She's my own daughter, she's already aware of everything, and I think that she can be a huge help.

She may be at the same age of Amiel and Glady, but she's exceptional when it comes to machines.

In the future, she's an engineer, though she still lacks many things right now, but I know that she can be a huge help" Dr. Reece said.

"Our plan right now is to create a functionable time machine that we can use freely.
