Chapter 11: Confused

"Whaaat?!"

What happened.

Just a second ago, I was on the verge of death.

I can still feel the pain of how those bullets pierce through my body.

"September 15, 2016?" I asked my mom again.

"Yes, is there something wrong? You better move now, it is not good to be late on your first day of school" she said.

"What? First day of school? What the hell are you saying, mom?" I asked her again.

"Are you still half asleep? It is yout first day of school in senior high school" she said.

I was flabbergasted.

I'm not actually sure on what's happening.

I got deeper into the past.

Now, I'm months away from the day that I time travelled last time.

What the hell is happening? I'm really confused.

I decided to go to school today, even though I personally think that I'm still not in the right state of mind to go to school.

When I arrived at the school, there are a lot of students who are waiting outside, and there are also a lot of people wandering around.

Honestly, I already forgotten my block when I was still in señior high. I guess I have to find it all over again, I need to restart.

After walking tirelessly, I already find my block.

I entered the room, there are a lot of people here, they seemed familiar but I don't fully recognize them, I'm bad at recognizing people.

I decided to sit in the back, so that I can be away from them, I'm not actually good at socializing because I can't understand most of the social cues, it is really arduous for me.

Since there are still thirty minutes before the class, I tried to take a nap for a couple of minutes, I'd rather sleep for the whole time than to socialize with them.

"Hello? Wake up. The instructor is already here" said by a very familiar voice.

When I slowly opens my eyes, I already saw a very familiar figure.

It was Maia!

I have forgotten, this is my first time meeting her in this timeline.

I'm back in a timeline in which the two of us didn't know each other.

I really can't help it but the tears suddenly falls into my eyes, it is due to the deep sadness and anger for seeing her lose her life again because of me.

"Did I do something wrong? Why are you crying?" she asked.

"Nah, I'm not actually crying, this always happens whenever I woke up from my nap unexpectedly, it is a disorder called cryonisopism" I said.

"Oh, is that it? That was really unfortunate. I'm really sorry that I woke you up from your nap" she said.

"Cryonisopism huh? I guess it is pretty uncommon, I've never heard it before.

Of course, that's because I just made that up.

"Yes, it is pretty uncommon" I replied.

"Btw, I'm Maia, what's your name?" she said.

"My name's Amiel" I replied.

I have a chance to change this timeline.

Who knows how many days do I have until the people from the UN can find me, I'm still confused on what's happening, I really wish there is someone who can enlighten me.

But at this timeline, I'm pretty sure that I already know what I needed to do, that is to ignore Maia for the rest of my stay here.

I don't want her to be in danger again.

As long as I can protect her, I'm okay with it.

The day passed by just by introducing ourselves to the class and also to the instructors.

It is absolutely boring honestly, I haven't manage to remember at least 3 names of my classmates.

The only one that I know here is Maia.

We were sittig together right now, but for the whole day, I was completely ignoring her.

"Hey? Are you already going home?" she said.

"Me? Actually no, I still have something very important to do" I said.

"Well, that's really unfortunate, where are you from by the way?" she asked.

"My place is just a few streets away from here, how about you?" I replied.

Actually asking her about the location of her house is actually very preposterous, I've been there for numerable amount of times, I can't even count how many.

"I'm just a few streets away from here too" she replied.

"Actually, it is only the first day of school, I was actually looking for a friend, would you mind if we can be friends?" she asked.

"Nah, I actually hate making friends with strangers, besides, there are other people there who will be much more interested in making friends with you. I'm afraid that I'm not the right person, you should go look for another friends, I think I already made my point. Bye" I said.

In this timeline, I am willing to sacrifice everything, just to see you safe and sound.

I won't be able to forgive myself if something happened to you again.

I will do everything, even if it is extremely painful for me, just to see you alive.

I'll be willing to sacrifice everything for you, my lover.

I'm actually walking subconsciously to the point that I have found myself in front of Glady's school.

I guess I was looking for her after all, she's the only friend that I've got.

I decided to wait for her class to end. I'm actually waiting outside her school.

If I told her everything, will she believes me again this time?

Will she think that I have lost my mind for thinking that time travel is real?

And besides, she's not even interested in science at this time, maybe she will think that I'm preposterous and I'm out of my mind.

I guess this is really a bad idea, I think I should leave.

"Holy fuck, what is this? Ringo?"

As I was trying to walk away, Glady found me.

I was shocked and confused, very confused.

"Glady? How the hell did you know me?" I asked.

"Oh, so you also know me? I guess we are from the same timeline afterall, we got transmitted here didn't we?

I actually thought that it was a doing of yours just to save me" she said.

"What!? What the hell happenes to you?" I asked.

"What do you mean we got transmitted here?" I added.

"I actually just got here from a moment ago, I woke up from the class and learned that I was in the year 2016, I was really confused, I thought it was the end of me" she said.

"Woah, what happened? Did something happened to you in the previous timeline?" I asked.

"I actually got caught by the UN, they have told me that I've been an ally of yours. They actually tried to kill me, shot me in my body multiple times. I though I was dead, the next thing I knew it I was here" Glady said.

"What? What the hell? It is the same thing thst happened to me. I actually failed bombing that UN's facility. I got caught and got shot also, and I got caught by the explosion of my own grenade in the last second, I was convinced that it was my end, but when I woke up earlier this morning, I am here" I replied.

"What the hell is happening?" Glady asked.

"I'm not quite sure also. There is one thing that I'm certain though, someone is pulling the strings, this is just a pure coincidence. Whatever happened, there must be someone or something behind it" I said.

"Do you think that it is because we messed with the time itself?" Glady asked.

"What do you mean?" I asked her again.

"I'm not sure also, but I think that when we died, our consciousness got transferred here. Is that even possible?" she asked.

"I'm not sure. But I still remember how I got transported back in your timeline, I was on the verge of death at that time also, the next time I knew, I was in 2017" I said.

"So the transmission thing must be connected with our death? But only yours is the plausible one, you're actually time travelling before you died" she said.

"Now this is pretty confusing" I said.

"For now, let's try not to mess up this timeline, let be lowkey for a while, okay?" I told Glady. .

"Understood" she replied.

"Let's exchange contact again. Try to contact Professor Reginald, maybe he knows what's up" I said.

"Okay, noted Ringo" she replied.

"Well, well, well. I've never thought that I'm about to see you two here, I'm glad to see you again, guys" said by a person that is behind us.

When I looked back, I saw his very familiar face.

"D-Dr. Reece!?"

"Yes, I'm back"
