Dead silence hung heavy as the fog crept along the hull of the ship before spilling over the edges. Its see-through tendrils coiled around the ankles of the crew, slowly covering the main deck beneath it before creeping higher.
As soon as the ship had entered the enchanted fog, no light could reach them, no wind could caress their skin - their trembling breaths the only sound in the stillness.
"Activate the first two circles of the enchantment, now." XueYa's order came down like a whip.
The crew had no time to hesitate as they shifted towards the sides, pulling the undulating fabric aside to reveal the roughly etched circles of enchantment on the main deck.
