Akito spent the entire afternoon playing games. The next day, feeling refreshed, as soon as he entered the classroom, he overheard the girl, Lucy, at the back talking to Ryohei, "The questions from yesterday were really difficult..."
Akito smirked but remained silent.
Seeing him, Ryohei, with a smile, asked, "Akito, where did you go yesterday afternoon?"
Akito pursed his lips and didn't respond.
Unperturbed, Ryohei continued smiling, "You must have gone to play games."
Akito grunted in agreement.
After the acknowledgment, he continued, "Being my desk mate for over a year, Akito, you're not much of a buddy. You didn't even let me take a look at such a small test. Seriously."
Ryohei said, "Precisely because it's a small test, I can't let you copy. You should rely on your own abilities..."
Akito interrupted, "Would you let me copy during the big exams then?"
Leaning over, Ryohei turned to face Akito directly, his playful expression replaced with seriousness, "If you were sitting beside me during the college entrance exams, I'd even let myself repeat a year just to let you copy."
Akito was momentarily stunned, glanced at him for a few seconds, then hastily turned his head, fumbling to retrieve a math book from the desk.
The bell had rung, and Nick casually strolled into the building, passing by Class 2-4. He shouted, "Akito, remember to wait for me after school..."
Akito acknowledged with a nod, lowered his head, and laughed while talking to Ryohei, "It's like I've never waited for him one day. He keeps telling me as if I've forgotten."
Ryohei also took out a math book, flipped to the contents, and asked the girls behind him, "Which chapter are we in for this class?"
At lunchtime, Nick still came out earlier than him. Akito's class was closer to the door, yet Nick always managed to arrive a bit earlier.
Akito patted Nick's arm, "I think if I dye this tuft of hair red, I'll look especially handsome!"
After saying this, he gestured to the front of his bangs. Nick glanced at him and didn't say anything.
Akito shouted, "Bro, give me some advice, can you? You always sweep your gaze around like this, giving me goosebumps."
Nick remained silent.
Nick was a person Akito understood better than anyone else. Although Nick hung out with a bunch of brawling friends at the snap of his fingers, no one understood him better than Akito.
A senior girl, her face reddened, approached Akito to start a conversation.
"How is Nick as a person?" she asked.
Akito took a big gulp of the cola she gave him and said, "Refined, very refined. Handsome too. Anyone with eyes can see that."
Akito racked his brains to think of Nick's virtues. He usually thought Nick was a flawless person, but listing out his strengths like this, Akito couldn't quite put them into words.
The girl stood there, eagerly waiting for the next sentence. Akito said, "It's time for class. I'll tell you more about it later during the break."
Akito thought he must come up with all of Nick's virtues during this class.
Akito thought, he always helps me this way and that way; I should help him find a girlfriend too.
