"K..hukk.."
He looked to the floor and took the money, leaving the store.
Defeated.
"Good job handling that, my favourite employee!"
My manager bashed my back while laughing.
"Manager Zack.."
Many times.
Or even countless times, he always looked out for me.
This is the best I could do.
"Oh, Manager Zack, I was wondering if I could take a-"
"Sure. Your sister came in yesterday to tell me your father's situation."
Ah.
She went that far?
"I'm sorry about my sister. She was very shameless."
I bow down, but I get raised back up.
"Alex, you're the most hardworking young man I have ever met. You always go out of your way to do things you don't even have to do."
He smiles brightly before raising his hand for me to wait.
"Wait here."
He exits and returns back to give me a parcel.
"Manager, what's this?"
I look at him with a sad look.
"Open it."
He gave me his usual carefree look.
But this time it was even brighter.
I opened the parcel and found a sum of cash.
"You didn't have to-"
"No. Don't say that. This was the least I could do for your situation."
"So, please.. don't come to work if you can't. I will still pay you, so earn money by playing your game."
"It's for your father after all."
"Manager, how did you know that I was playing the game for money?"
"You silly boy! Did you think that your sister didn't notice?"
What?
She realized?
I place my teeth on my bottom lip.
'She didn't even complain.. was I too harsh on her that day?'
"Huuu.."
"Thank you. I'm sorry that I can't attend work."
I bowed down—but was stopped midway.
"Go, do it for your father. Family should always come first."
I nod and leave.
Knowing that nothing, can stop me from completing my training and saving my father while completing my true objective.

Drop.
When I signed into AO and sat in the garden, I saw a pile of books drop in front of me.
"What are these?"
My eyes wandered to the top where the dark-elf stood.
The books below me were all different. There were manuals to magic scripts.
"It's part of your training. You need spearmanship arts and mana scripts to exceed even further."
"Without these, you will die no matter who you fight in the future who is stronger than you."
She said very harshly to me while explaining the reason.
I took a closer look at the books she threw.
There were three; all of which had different uses.
The first one was a manual, or to be precise, a spearmanship arts manual—called,
[Divine Expeditious Spear Arts]
Then, the second book was not as big of a name as the first. It was simply a manual with the Basics to Spearmanship arts.
It also had an important value as it was something I needed due to only thrusting my spear normally.
And lastly.
The very important book that would be used for my training was, surprisingly, called,
"A mana script?"
