Thunder Disciple: Spearman's Journey

[Dear readers, I am terribly sorry to inform that this novel will be on indefinite hiatus. I have recently dealt with real life issues which have led me to not have the time to write. I have thirty stockpiled chapters under my other book, "Villain Becomes the Main Character" that will release weekly. There will be a mass release of five chapters on the 14th January. Once again, I'm sorry for this, and I hope everyone would be understanding. Thank you, -Strawberryhouse] Aeconia Online. A MMORPG game released this year gained immense popularity straight after its release. It was a VR game with incredible graphics and had mastered the ability to make the user feel like it was reality itself. This was the reason why shortly, a year after its release, it became the current world's most popular game. Alexander Mark, a 1st year University student, finally saved enough money to buy the VR Pods which allowed him to finally play the game—even though he was a little late. Once he loaded in, he let out his words of joy. "Finally. I'm able to play this game. After hours of working part-time jobs.." He began to play, that was until, only a week after.. 「 Congratulations Host 」 "Huh?" 「 The One Who Controls The Clouds interested in forming a contract with you 」 "A contract? No-" 「 The host does not have a choice 」 「 Forming Contract... 」 "W-wait, what??" And, so, Alexander began his march. Or was it a higher beings march? Towards getting stronger as a lightning spearman. As a... Disciple Of Thunder. --- Warning: Writing is not full-time so updates won't have many chapters. --- Why ready my novel? It's simple: - I have a unique take on the VRMMORPG genre (unlike most novels, read more to see what I mean) - There is NO leveling system - A lot of mystery veiled about the [One Who Controls The Clouds] --- Word count: 1000+ words per chapter Update stability: 1chs/week (But extra chapters will be releasef based on milestones.) I know that this is too much but I'm struggling to balance both my hobbies, exams and social time with writing more chapters. But I will 100% be consistent with my update stability. --- Milestones. Collections: 10 - Extra 100 words 25 - Extra 250 words 50 - Bonus Chapter 100 - Bonus Chapter (+2) 125 - Bonus Chapter (+1) 150 - Bonus Chapter (+1) 175 - Bonus Chapter (+1) 200 - Bonus Chapter (+2) Let's try and hit 200 collections. Just add this book to your library! Power stones: 50 - Extra Chapter 100 - Extra 2 Chapters 150 - Extra 2 Chapters (what am I doing to myself? T_T) If we hit 200 Power stones, then I'll release a stockpile worth of chapters! Coffee will be my best friend!!

A huge building with a luxurious outside, had an inside.

Indoors, there were many people who sat in front of computers typing away and speaking.

A logo that was shaped like a diamond-shape facing up and a diamond-shape facing sideways.

It was the company who made the game called 'Aeconia Online'.

'Mondia.'

Suddenly, inside the building, a red alarm sounded.

B. e-Beep!—

"Huh? What was that?"

Many employees looked around from the alarm sound.

The large digital screen at the front of the room showed a large text.

'The tutorials best record has been broken!'

'Displaying recording..'

Inside the video footage..

Was me.

I was in stance for a few seconds before finishing off the goblin quickly.

'Reaction Time: 148 milliseconds'

"What?"

A man's voice trembled in shock at the time as he walked into the room.

He had brown hair, eyes and a barely grown beard.

He held a coffee cup in his hand while wearing his plain office uniform.

"Manager!"

A red-haired woman speed-walked to the man with a serious face.

"This is the fastest recorded time in the tutorial! This.. this is extraordinary!"

She spoke with amazement, barely able to speak.

"Yes Holly, I know. Even a talented gamer can only react at one-hundred and fifty milliseconds. And this guy.."

"Huuu.."

The manager tried to control himself.

'He managed to do this in the tutorial..'

He regained his composure and spoke firmly.

"Huwa, monitor this player.. we cannot let anyone else find out about him."

"Yes, sir!"

She replied as the manager began travelling out of the room.

'This guy.. just who is he?'

The manager thought.

* * *

I close the screen and just in time, see the game panel appear.

「 Congratulations. You have overcome the tutorial. 」

「 To display your stats, say 'Status window' 」

「 To view your items, say 'Inventory' 」

「 You are now free to explore the world of Armenia! 」

The white void gradually began to fade away as my body also slowly began vanishing.

"I guess I'm finally starting."

「 Wish you the best of luck on your journey... 」

"Thank you.."

Wrrroooop!—

I teleport into a city.

The city wasn't modern and definitely dated back centuries ago.

Many crowds of people walked around.

There was a market, houses and children.

It was very lively to say the least.

"This place is massive.."

I began placing my foot forward to walk.

What I needed was to go into a beginner hunting area.

Then only could I level up and get stronger.

"Now, where was it.."

I walked down the lively streets until I saw a wooden arrow sign,

—'Beginner hunting area'

There.

"Found you."

I followed the signs, paths and roads until my foot felt the feel of grass instead of stone.

It only took a few more seconds for me to find people in a grassy area surrounded by a forest.

Slimes.

That was what they were fighting.

A lot of them working together in parties.

"Should I get a party..?"

'It would be a good choice since it would be faster..'

But for this? A beginner area?

No chance.

Why would I need to worry about slimes? Especially, at the first level.

"Now.."

CEICJIEIE...

"Huh?"
